  1. FYI, the legacy rims are 5x100.
  2. Cool cars indeed. Sounds like your find was rare, finding such an old car in good condition with those low miles...
  3. They don't. They use unleaded, slightly higher octane. Plenty of folks run JDM motors without issues.
  4. The boost cut can't be circumvented by an FCD? Bummer. The other option is a Legacy SS, but if he invested that much money in a car, I think he'd like to keep it longer than just the summer. Plus, mods to an SS are limited by the injectors, and if we're screwing around with what will be both our first turbo cars... I'd rather blow a cheap one up. No love for the XT6? The ER27 seems like a solid platform. I've been very impressed by SVXs with light mods, and I know the XT is much lighter.
  5. Simple solution is to buy puralator filters by the case. I too have heard many Fram horror stories.
  6. A buddy of mine is looking to purchase an old Scoob for the summer. He's planning on a budget of around $1,000 and probably dumping about as much in mods. He's like to run 14s fairly reliably. Should he go with a GL, XT turbo or XT6? What does the USMB think?
  7. Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny myself. But Melis, purple? :-\ My car?
  8. I understand... opening up a MT makes sense... autoboxes are confusing.
  9. Will you ever be back to the old-skool Scoobs?
  10. When I sell on eBay, I charge for shipping + paypal and eBay fees.
  11. They are definitely amazing in the snow. My '91 235k Loyale is eggsactly the same way. Just digs in and pulls.
  12. 200 is doable with a swap. Sharp looking wagon.
  13. I still like the GC8.
  14. Yep.... definitely sounds like plugged heater core to me.
  15. Well don't get over dramatic about it or anything...
  16. Yes, I got the manuals. I think coating the pistons will be a bit pricey - not even sure what I'm putting this motor in yet. Thinking maybe in my RS w/ some v3/4 heads and 2.5 header and intake manifold.. not sure yet.
  17. Nice. Too bad you have to sell the SS.
