Power windows & locks
I have an 89 xt6 with power locks and windows. And I live in Calgary. I haven't had any issues that wouldn't exist around any power windows or locks. If you wash your car and don't dry it, the locks freeze up (especially annoying with the xt6 with its friggin doorhandles) the windows are a bit slower when they're cold. Other than that, I haven't had any issues with winter conditions.

Suspension Compatibility questions
natext6 replied to natext6's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm thinking I'm going to grab everything except the struts and wheels. I don't want the lift, so I'm going to be looking for different struts. As for wheels, I like the xt6 wheels! I'm planning on having them powder coated back to their original luster, and then ill be throwing winters on them for this ski season. As for axles, I want the newer axles, if I ever end up getting to my engine conversion, I want the stronger parts. What do you think?

Suspension Compatibility questions
natext6 replied to natext6's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAwesome info, thanks again Gary! I have a credit with a salvage place, and they got a 200x outback in recently, looks like I'm getting some parts! Also, as a side note, eff ABS. A well trained foot is much better. I like having the control.

Suspension Compatibility questions
What are the differences between the outback suspension systems, and the legacy/ legacy outback suspensions? I'm curious about hubs, brakes, spindles, axles, backing plates, struts and shocks. The years that i'm curious about would be 1999-2006. Basically what's the same? I'm doing a suspension upgrade on an xt6, and I'm trying to gather parts.

need some help
I went to work today, and then when I went to go home, the car wouldn't start. It coughed and sputtered, and then after about 20 minutes, it started. I started driving home, assuming it had been a battery issue. Then, after about 10 minutes of driving, the engine cut out, and I had to pull to the side of the road. I tried boosting it, but it didn't help. Also, my emergency brake either isn't disengaging, or the light isn't turning off.....don't know if this is related. Anyway, does this sound like anything you guys have heard of? The car is a ft4wd xt6

80 gl passing light
Is there any kind of control unit for the light? I had some issues with the headlights in my xt, and there were a few things that helped me narrow down the possibilities. Firstly, have you tried manually opening the light? See if it will close, even if it wont open. In the end it turned out that the wire responsible for "down" had come out of the harness that was under my steering column, so when I manually closed the lights, they would go up, but not down again, even if you've traced the wires, this could help with finding the issue. Have you tried un-plugging the battery then resetting the position? Could it be that the car already thinks that the light is open? If there is a control unit of some description, unplugging the battery, resetting the light position, and then re-attaching the battery should reset the system. Past that, I'd look at the motors, of something wrong at the lamp side of everything. I don't have any experience with passing lights myself, but I now know a rather pointless amount about flip-up headlights. Hope I've helped in some way!

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
I've never known the lighter in my xt6 to work....but, I bought a new one, and it doesn't stay down either. Although the new one heats up really fast.
