  1. 97 OBS. Just recently started getting the code. Not the original owner (4th I think) and I'm 100% sure the engine HAS been swapped at least 4 times (twice by me). No idea on the ECU.
  2. Hate to necro an old thread but after searching and searching I haven't seen a viable solution for this problem. I'm getting the same P0403 on a car that doesn't have an EGR nor has it ever.
  3. Buy three, build two, build motors, blow up motor, destroy suspension jumping over table top, go to junkyard get more parts, destroy bearings, etc. With all the racing and wheeling I tend to be break stuff.
  4. I understand that one. You only have one subie exploded in your garage. I've got 3.5. The back of my truck is full of busted Subaru parts and worn out rally tires. I need to take it in soon just so I can fill it up with another load. Too much junk.
  5. ...and clean your garage.
  6. Welcome. Since you're in Shelton come out to the Olympus Rally this weekend.
  7. I really like the tire rack. That is a highly marketable item to the rally/rallycross guys that don't trailer their vehicle.
  8. I met a guy Friday night at PIR with a silver Loyale with EJ22 swap and told him to keep a look out for details on this trip. The weekends of 7/11, 7/18, and 8/15 are about all I have left open after family and rally obligations.
  9. Glad to see you are working again and moving forward with the build. You should T-case it. Bring that motor up.
  10. you mean...

  12. Stella - '97 Impreza Outback Sport Stock 2.2 Frankenmotor with EL headers and intake spacers 4.44 Auto with VLSD Welded Rear 235/75/15 BFG Mud Terrain KM2's 7" Strut / 5" Body Lift Rock Sliders Tube Bumper and Rear Tire Carrier by Monstaru
  13. Sheesh, I must have misread the title. I thought you were doing a big lift (6-8") but its just a big list of things to do before your lift. Got me excited for nothin'.
  14. Call John at 206 431 9696. Tell him exactly what you want to do and he'll get you hooked up with the right coil overs.
  15. Sometimes it's sweet nothings while toodling over rocky terrain and other times its "Hey spardnubbin why did you that?!!" when you bury them up to the windows in mud.
  16. Power to all wires going to the relays and beyond. I'll be triple checking all the grounds. I don't have a USDM manual or FSM only the Aussie one which is almost useless. I didn't swap the ignition switch. They should be identical but I'll check. Wiring along the steering column is good to go.
  17. It's not that bad since the dash isn't in. Still not seeing anything charred and I'm getting power past all the relays. I'll take a more in depth look this weekend.
  18. Directly behind the cluster. The dash was removed when it happened so I could see everything.
  19. OBS combo meter was swapped as well. Essentially the car is a 98 OBS in a Forester shell. Visual inspection was done. No burned up parts.
  20. Since I didn't get a response I just did a whole chassis wire swap to simplify things. Now it's time to address the electrical issue I had before the swap. The car ran perfectly until I shorted out the combo meter on the dash bar. Then a little puff of smoke. Ran fine for 20 miles then pfft...nothing. I'm a little befuddled by this one... here are the symptoms. 1. CEL stays on after ignition is off. 2. Temp gauge "tachs out" past high when ignition turned on. (Temp sensor disconnected?) 3. Engine cranks but won't start. No fuel. (Fuses are good. Still need to check FP relay.)
  21. Doing a complete power train and wiring swap from a 1998 Impreza OBS into a 2000 Forester and vice versa. Everything is complete from the dash forward just need to do a few items from the dash aft. Does anyone have the connector pinouts and wiring diagrams for the non-SRS connectors near the doors?
  22. It's the holidays. Most everyone is spending time with family and friends, using the time off to work on their cars or both. Get over your need for instant gratification. Alignment is not an issue. Take it to Firestone and get the lifetime alignment. Why the RalliTek springs? For $20 more you can get the Kings. 235's will fit without cutting after the lift. Ditch the swaybars. You will need to adjust your shift linkage if you have a 5MT or add a spacer block for the 4EAT.
  23. You should stay home and get those other projects done so you can make some room for me. I have to stay home myself. Trying to finish up my motor/drive train/ wiring swap from the Forester to the rally car. As you can see, I've got a long way to go. Trying get it finished as quick as possible. Don't want to end up a garage queen like another good friend of ours. Seriously though, I do need to get out and go wheeling soon 'cause I miss all my NWWO guys. Merry Christmas and Happy New NWWO!
  24. Just need the legacy axles that match the diff then. Length should be fine. Maybe a touch wider but not noticeable.
