  1. Try crank senser bad for problems hot also check wires close to both sensers ar not broken also check main engine harness conectors are pluged in all the way and no bent pins very commen to not plugin all the way
  2. Lots lately 4 in a row all knocking I get the cranks turned down and replace the bad rod and away you go after endless hours of getting all the debries out of oil passages and cams tubes ect . I think this happens to these engines because coolant gets in oil thru bad headgaskets and end up with coolant additves / sugars in oil if not enuff oil changes wipes out berrings Also some years came with a 7mm oil pump was to small and could not keep up as it gets worn a bitt pump cant mantian preshure

  4. Some old dodges used a 3way speedo spliter to make cruise work haven't seen one in a while speedo went to this unit and two cables came out one to cruise unit and one to spedo head think you could just plug a legacy speed senser into one side of something like that

  6. had a legacy with failed temp senser other day hard starting no idle cold and poor runability the fans also would not shut off have you tried a difernt maff
  7. Did you try washing out the boards on ecu blow it out and try again or is it burnt I may have ecu will look
  8. I drill the hole 1/4 inch deeper and tap it then use bolt from legacy head with stud bottomed out and locked in when it runs outa threads it sticks in the unthreaded part and will hold well

So have been able to save two ej2.2 s now by doing a head retorque my 97 impreza 2.2 and a 90 legacy 2.2 when they get high kms the heads start to work loose the 90 legacy had 537000kms on it original motor anyway I got a turn and a half on each headbolt and the bubbles in rad stoped on both cars. I was surprised but it did fix them no bubbles since have putt on 5000kms on my impreza since coolant level has not moved. When I first got it ten minute drive all the coolant in overflow. Also check coolant strength may have frozeup
  10. Try the deul E brake convertion took me minutes and what fun ! add a legacy posi and outback struts and spiked rally tires yeeehaaaaa ! outback sport !
  11. Is a electric motor that moves doors is on ds above your right ft you should be able to look with a light and watch its operation while switching it see if its jamming or poped off commen for pens to fall into vents and jam doors
  12. very comen the speedo head has two rotating meatal pieces that come very close to each other is fairly normal to have it make noise when its cold My impreza dose this till it warms up and my justy and my 79 wagon and my 81 brat anytime its under -10

  14. Counted yesterday had 52 ej cly heads 90-08 and a dozen intakes

  17. Just a heads up warning if its leaking externaly is getting coolant in oil you will not see it because pcv will pull moisture out but addatives and sugars will be left in oil change oil more often and do heads as soon as posibble
  18. the loyale has speed senser built into speedo head in dash just hook it up belive is a two wire plug. Anyway since 83 is reed switch senser in spedo head

Is very hard to remove all air in rear rad setup try a rad cap fitting off upper heater hose so you can fill engine before startup you will have a air pocket traped between rad and lower rad hose conection and will most likely be very hard to fill. My rear rad cooling sestem hold 20 L of coolant the more coolant the more cooling medium at any rate make shure no air in engine or could damage it
  21. Check vacume supply tp vacume storage tank were line comes off engine
  22. And is still the exact same gasket from 99-07 they dident fix it just ignored it
  23. classic headgasket have done at least 8 now all 07s all about 135000kms to 200000kms come from lower ds bottom corner of head and upper ps side head runs down and drips off oil filter or xmember nothing else leaks just HG
