  4. hatchsub is totally correct.there needs to be a certain amount of backpressure to make it run properly.i had my y-pipe completely off and was fiddling around with the carb to no avail.as soon as i put it back on i was able to tune it as best as you can a hitachi.at the least i wo9uld check the brake booster first and if it is good i would just rebuild the hitachi.the kit is like thirty five bucks and it is relatively simple if you just sit down and do it.but like i said, sit down and do it,it is not for several sit downs.....you will get lost if you walk away from it for more than an hour.at least i did....took me several days and a lot of headaches to get it back on track......but, i know that damn carb like i fathered it now.
  5. i would try seafoam first,do a search on it......it can do wonders.

  13. gotta get some parts over there to people.doing alot of driving.would like a central place to meet some folks.i do have to get down to olympia, but i will do that first.early sat mornin as it will be on a weekend.thanks, brian
  14. the spark plug was actually dirtier than the other plugs, which iirc would suggest an exhaust valve stick? there is a hiss from the y-pipe,do not know where though...could be further back though....
  15. yep, makes sense.should work from any ea-81 4wd with the right plug...that is the deal, the plug.plunger size has always been the same on the ones i've seen.just different plugs.so you should be able to find one .if not let me know again;)
  16. can you start a school for women that like subies......mine likes my brat, but doesn't realize that i could be alot worse(if i were into older domestic cars and such).....please,pretty please.......with sugar on top.......

  22. so you just remove the tailhousing and put the other one on?nice frame work.....
  23. i have a 4 inch byb, with kyb struts/rxsprings in the front and stock shocks in the rear..a few adjustments here and there.some mods and some stock stuff.ya know, it is pretty much like everyone elses........only with my little touches..... Those "geek lights" don't look long for the real world of bush bashin' those "geek lights" are classic turn signals from a 1978 honda cvcc.......they will be moved inside when i make a mount for my skidplate .......right now i don't do that much bush bashin anyway.....you should stay on trails,it's better for the environment and they have bigger ruts anyhow. it looks like they do block them doesn't it.......i thought i was screwed on that too.but it does n't block 'em at all when they are on.i tried 'em in the dark before i drove it on the street.
