  1. Does Efi have any benifits over a Carb (other than Efficiency) A guy who owns a mpfi and carb wagons said that the mpfi dosent yeald any more power than the carb, but the carb will respond quicker in acceleration than mpfi, mpfi is just more efficient What does the electric feedback carb do? What has to be done to put spfi on a carb ea82
  2. "Leone is the same as the DL/GL/GL-10/RX/Loyale over here." So by that u mean that the Rx is a variant of the Loyale, cos the Rx looks very diferent to our Leones Here we have in the models (old Gen) Sportswagon DL & GL (and Touring Wagon with slightly raised roof) Leone (Sedan) Fiori (Small 2 door 'van looking thing') Sherpa (very small 2 door) And New Gen Liberty Impreza (and WRX) Forester And possiably more
  3. What is the Australian equivilent to the XT6 and the RX? (what engines to theses have?) Do u have the Leone (ea82 sedan, similar in construction to the Wagon) Are there any other cars that have different names in different countries, eg. Brumby vs Brat Thanks
  4. Just to clarify about the tach, i meant an instrument cluster from a subaru with a tach,... put into mine, where the instrument cluster dosent have a tach. I will take photos of removing the old foam and the steps of replacing the new foam and seat cover. I can start as soon as i can find some replacement foam:banghead: hopefully it wont be too long
  5. it looks like if you put something heavy in the back behind the rear wheels, the front would lift off the ground,.. if the wheels were further back .... maybe it would be ok, but like that,...... nope
  6. Q1. Can i put a dash with a tach in a car that didnt origionally have one ? (92 dl wagon carbed) Q2. How easy is it to change CV shafts? Q3. How easy is it to replace the Timing belts? And just as a bit of usless information,... i have taken a drivers seat and am in the process of replacing the worn out foam, (i drove 6 hours straight in this seat, and oh i knew about it by the end of 6 hrs) I will post pics of the reconstruction if wanted:brow:
  7. I find it hepls if I accelerate or brake while trying to disengage it. I use my 4wd on gravel or grass but i find sometimes these surfaces can still make it hard to disengage.
  8. Is there a AWD Manual Transmission that will bolt onto an ea82 engine with little or no modifications? Is there any disadvantages to having this kind of tranny on these cars? Thanks guys!!!
  9. I have noticed that for the first few minutes of driving my car dosent have the normal power it has at WOT. is this cos of the choke? can i adjust it so it unchokes earlier, (i live in a hot climate) Thanks
  10. I installed my Mp3 player on a slight anlge upwards so it would fit a little better, there was about an inch of overhang which i covered with a 6" UV lightI will try to post a picture tomorro Merry Chrisie to all
  11. When we talk Summer in this Country, we mean temperatures in the mid 30's to over 40deg C on some days!!!!!! Posted by "All_talk ..... Does it crank hard or just spin without firing? " What do you mean by crank hard??? or spin without firing? When i turn the key,... the engine turns over at normal speed but fails to fire, most times it will take two attempts to start. Most times by habit I give the accelerator a pump before starting, so I will try without. I have recently installed a new fuel filter. Thanks guys for your speedy replies
  12. I have noticed that when my engine is hot, when i try to start it, it takes a few seconds of turning the key (up to 5 seconds sometimes) and its getting worse as summer temperatures rise It will start first go when its cold, but if i drive it, then park it in direct sunlight,.. the thing does not want to start:banghead: Ive been told that it could be because the fuel vaporises in the intake before it reaches the cylinders, is this true???
  13. Is there a way to increase the idle speed while the aircon is operating??? while sitting at traffic lights ect. it idles very low with it on and when i go to pull away, it almost stalls..
  14. ive also noticed in my Gregory's manual, that the firing order is, looking from front of engine,... Front Left, then Rear Left, then Front Right, then Rear Right. Which means that two exhaust pulses travel down the same header directly after each other then there is a space of two where there is no movement down the pipe. So is this setup benifical to the scavanging effect or would a seperate exhaust pipe from each cylinder be better??? (RAM Engines claims that the secret to the high power in these engines is tuned intake and exhaust pipes which has an air ram effect) Thanks
  15. Turbo Carb????? How easy is this to do?? can it be done with a stock carb? BTW... this car looked awesome, i want it
  16. I was just reading on the website for RAM Engines and they claim 140hp from a NA ea81. They use dual port heads and tuned intake and exhausts can these heads be put directly on a ea82 with out any special stuff other than a intake to suit and a dual port exhaust header???
  17. I know nothing about this.... but What are the improvements and how does it work?
  18. I may be way off on this,..... but how is your clutch? i recently replaced my clutch because this was one of the problems besides the slippingness of my clutch. It ended up being the thrust bearing was worn and not lettin the shaft disengange when the clutch was depressed, and so the syncromesh was not moving slow enough to engange the gears. It got to the point of having to turn off the engine to put it into first gear, and each gear change would have to be done by matching the revs exactly:banghead: Although i cant see how this could be oil related Hope this helps
  19. I was just wondering how many of the members of this board live in Australia? I live in NSW on the Mid North Coast, in a small town called Bowraville, which is about and hour south of Coffs Harbour, and about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane If you would like to leave details of your location it will give each of us an idea of where we all live.
  20. As far as i know,.. most front doors are designed like that so the driver cannot lock his (or hers) keys in the car,. cos he could easily leave the keys in,... push in the lock knob,... and if the door closes accidently,... his keys are locked in.
  21. What is a pipercross? The general idea that i had was,... does the oval air filter setup have any disadvantages over the style of air intake the efi versions use,.. like is one any better than the other as far as perfomance goes?
  22. This is Probably a Stupid Question Where is there vaccum in the manifold to run disty, brake booster and vent controls if the engine is turbo'd??? being turbos produce positive pressure to the cyclinders I suppose the brake booster and vents could be taken from before the turbo but I cant imagine this would work to control the disty advance Anyone Please prove me Wrong
  23. Hey Guys... I was wondering if there would be any performance improvements to my NA sube if I removed the current air filter housing (the big oval element holder) and replaced it with an air filter box and pipework from a fuel injected or turbo'd car as I assume that this setup would be less restrictive Any thoughts or ideas Welcome:cool:
  24. Sounds Awesome:brow: :brow: I don't know much about this kinda thing so i can't comment,.. (other than those figures sound REALY GOOD) So by all means.... GO FOR IT
