Try pushing in on the crank pulley. -

You may have a bad thrust bearing in your engine. If you do it will cause your rear and front main seals to leak. -
Lotsa time before then, remember we havent had turkey yet.

No company should rent you a tow dolly knowing you have a Subaru of any kind. Not an H6 outback, Tribeca, Brat, EA82 anything...., no Subaru is capable of towing that way. I towed an 83 wagon with my 90 Legacy FLAT with a towbar and even then I was exceeding GVWR of the Legacy by over 1000 pounds if memory serves me. It was stupid then and would be now. Nobody even sells a 2" receiver hitch for a Subaru of any kind and thats the league you are in if you need a towdolly. Rent a truck or a friend with a truck, full size van, etc. Something with enough STOPPING POWER to tow and with enough weight in the towing vehicle to handle a jackknife situation, extreme emergency stop, etc. Your life and others is at stake and its not worth it. Just because your Subaru will pull something doesnt mean it will stop it.

Seats from 86 Brat in my 86 hatch and I couldn't be happier. Driveshaft from 88 hatch in same. Was a good day (Sunday).

Its black with white tracer and is coming from the alternator plug on the legacy which is round with 4-5 wires on it. Near it would be a yellow wire which runs to Ign On, and then a battery lead that probably loops over to the big terminal on the alternator with the nut.

The gain is extremely noticable. The power is there right away off the top. The other gains include: Easier to find parts in the yard than the ea82 series. No more need for premium fuel. Timing belt lasts a lot longer than the belts on the ea82's. Aftermarket parts availability for EJ engines much better. Intake snorkels, air filters, injectors, etc. Gas mileage goes up. Engine compartment temps go down. # of hoses and stuff to break goes down.

Making power out of this engine is simple. Pull it and put an ej22 in its place. Tear down the engine while its out so you can see all the pieces in their somewhat intact form and then take them to the scrap metal yard to get some money towards the adapter plate and 2.2 engine. Seriously, making 135 HP with this engine reliably is far more expensive than the conversion.

No silicone just a gasket and absolutely clean surfaces. -
They are bringing back the Justy in the form of a passenger van for 5 or 6 passengers. It will feature the ECVT which was kindof a failure the first time around but maybe it will be better this time as technology has improved in this area and more brands are jumping onto the idea (Nissan big in it). High 40's MPG, low displacement engine, etc.

long term engine storage tips?

The 115 indicates it isnt in good shape. Im not sure I would store an engine that doesnt have perfect compression and even then I think I would find a car that needs said engine and install it and get rid of the engine with a car that needs one. Engines don't do well when stored for periods of time. They rust internally, the FI system doesnt like it, etc. -

To get a used gasket go to the yard find a Subaru with a cracked windshield at the yard and sit in the car with a friend and put your feet on the glass. Press pretty hard and the glass will either shatter (dangerous so wear eye gear and heavy duty boots minimum, or will just pop out. Gently peel the gasket out of the edge of the glass and move on to the next car. That gets you a gasket. Now get a utility knife and find yourself a car with a gorgeous windshield. Sit in the car and admire it for a few minutes with a friend. This will calm your nerves and make you slow down and make sure its PERFECT because you do not want to do this job again. Peel all the chrome trim off the windshield gasket molding and then take your utility knife and cut gently in the middle of where the chrome used to be. Peel all the rubber you can off and you will see the edge of the glass. When you can see it all the way around gently lift the glass out. Install using the cord method GD described. I just did my hatch last week with lots of help from coworkers and my boss. Its a pain in the butt but the results are a safe car and a nicer looking car so its totally worth it. -

You can skip the speed sensor. The Blue/Black is your tach signal wire. It will work with the ea81 inst cluster tach. My memory is slipping on what the red/yellow wire would be. -

Timing issue - Green connector / advance disable

Is your charge light coming on with the key to ign on? If not it won't charge. To fix it if its not lighting up: Find the T-Plug that was for your ea82 alternator. On those alternators one prong is S and one is L. The L terminal needs to plug into the wire on your harness I tagged alternator light. Or you can install an XT6 alternator and just use all but one groove on the xt6 alt pulley and all the plugs are a direct plug in. On my ea81 my volt gauge reads 12ish but its really putting out 14.8 so i still need to fix the dash gauge but the chg light works. (Im running legacy alt).
