  1. While he does have a point; you are not going to run 'too cold' from that wussy fan and single row radiator. Smile, nod, and drive on.
  2. Sounds like you want an AT not an MT. Good AT's are better than M+S offroad and wont have the negative aspects you stated that an MT will have.
  3. Compare the temp to your other three. If it's drasticly hotter than the other 3 corners than you have some extra friction going on. From what exactly is what you'd have to find out. Just helped my brother replace a wheel bearing and hub assembly. That corner was WAY more hot than the other three. Too hot to hold your hand on the center of the hub; could only touch it quickly. Steam poured out as we used the garden hose to cool it off prior to working on it. Other three were hot but you could easily hold your hand on them. This is pretty shade tree for diagnostics here
  4. If it's not on the invoice under parts you paid for; it didnt get replaced. Be it engine mounts, tranny mounts, or shifter linkage bushings.
  5. Brain fart: tranny mounts and/or engine mounts so worn out that as you brake engine+trany slop forward therefore knocking it out of 1st and 3rd.
  6. It wasnt 8" off the ground when he got it; it was about 6" at best. Due to worn out suspension. I doubt his EA81 had even 80hp on a good day; prolly more than doubled with the ER27 in there. It wasnt a doubeling of OEM specifications; it was a doubeling of his hatch as it stood. The idea of ATV tires on a Subaru has been coverd several times. It's a bad idea. It seems like a good idea at first; hell I thought it was back before I knew anything about Subarus and ATV tires. However it's been hashed over and it's simply not safe or feasible for 99% of Subaru owners. I dunno why we are talking about either subject any longer. I'm going to go look at more WCSS7 pics
  7. I really don't think you are supposed to have one. If you were there would be a big hole in your Y pipe where one should be. That is really good milage.
  8. Well has everyone learned their lesson on jumping Subarus? They break. Glad someone had a spare strut to get him back up and running.
  9. They prolly did the crank seal for two rasons 1) it needed it 2) 90% of the work was already done getting the timing belts off and oil pump off If you cant do the work yourself then you gotta pay the price. Be sure to call around and get good estimates. I'd call no less than 5 shops; preferably 10. You'll notice some try to tell you "i have to see it" or "i cant give you an estimate over the phone"; forget them and move on.
  10. What happend to the front right suspension on the AA wagon?

    Tube Doors

The doors flex with the unibody; they aren't holding it together so it wont flex. On or off the unibody is going to flex and twist.
  12. I think your math is a little off 80hp to 150hp 6" to 12" ground clearance

    Dig it!

Next time tell them its to pull out Jeeps
  14. My first gen Legacy was bullet proof. What little work I had to do on it was very simple and straight forward.
  15. If you have a carb and an O2 sensor then it's a feedback carb.
  16. Ive decided.... Sticking with Poopenvagen and going with an EJ22 swap for my winter project. Drop dead date on this will be April for the MN4WDA annual offroad event. Hopefully we can get more than two Subaru's at a time up at Gilber this year!
  17. Okay gotcha. I'm sure the rally 'ru folks will step in and give you great advice on upgrades.

    Tube Doors

I dig it Jibs! I prolly wouldnt drive down the hiway with them; just throw them in the back. Put them on at camp and leave my normal doors at camp.
  20. Not untill you show him you have enough people lined up with money in hand to make it worth while.
  21. Please clarify on what you mean by 'upgrading the front end'.
  22. Who is this even addressed to? "your toes".... who's toes? I think you're making this out to be more than it really is. This is not some regional pissing contest
  23. If its a feedback carb or EFI try to put the O2 sensor just after the "y" where your two headers will join. That way you'll be reading both heads; not just one.
