Fellow Alaskans help me Please
He's talking about the shop in Anchorage, and just about anyone on the board would mirror those comments, although I don't think they're really commies. More like capitalist pigs.

Legacy is toast.
northguy replied to BoostedBalls's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSo what are you going to do with it? Install a new engine? Part it? Junk it?

Fellow Alaskans help me Please
If you're just looking at wiring problems, go to Big O's Autoelectric in Anchorage. He'll have it fixed in a hurry for less than a mechanic.

Thee's a really good mechanic in Soldotna as you head out of town toward Nikiski. He's on the left side of the street with a sign that says oil changes for subarus $10. That's right, $10 for oil and a new oem Subaru filter. He has 2 360's and a bunch of parts cars out back. He'll fix you up. He was one of the founders of AAA Subaru in Anchorage, but had a falling out. I think his shop is AAA-1 Subaru. Look in the phone book.

Spy photos. . . Lifted BAHA
I doubt I could afford the price of the kit, much less the Baja. But it does look cool.

'95 EJ22 Into '83 Brat
That's pretty cool, but why didn't you go with a d/r 5spd and Mudrat's adaptor?

Try doing a search on oils, and waita week or two for Snowman to finish his college paper on motor oils. Then ask him to e-mail you a copy.

2005 Baja convert from auto to manual?
northguy replied to mtnpat's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBy that point in time, it should be cheap as wrecked Bajas should be available in the yards. But I might think about hunting around now to locate a tranny with low miles on it to put in then so you won't be bothered with buying a tranny that's already been pounded to a pulp.

Some new stuff.
That looks sweet. Do you hire out?

Lift Done.....problems
There's a set of bolts on the driver's side of the tunnel underneath the carpet that allow for adjustment on the lever. You may have to pull the seat (4 bolts) to get access to it, but it's a pretty easy fix and your lever will sit level then.

how 'bout another SKA meetup this month?
Kelly, Jon is still around, but isn't on the board anymore- bounced again. I'm up for a meet, but next weekend I'm headed up to mile 120 on the Glenn for a raptor watch with my wife. About any other time would work for me. But if you can get others to come, don't hinge it on my attendance. It'd be cool to meet Cougar and a couple of people from down south (Soldotna, Homer) or lineofbirds from Houston area....

Lift Done.....problems
The actuator switch for the 4x4 unit on my 83 Brat is a switch that makes contact on the back lobe of the 4x4 lever itself. The wires that connect to the tranny don't turn on the light on the dash. Check in your console area for that. The tranny does affect the back up lights. Check those connections by putting the car in reverse with the ignition on. Use a vom or circuit tester to locate which 2 wires are the circuit for your back up lights. Then go by process of elimination to figure out which two wires complete the circuit with the tranny.

New to the site, please help, knock sensor problem!
northguy replied to CMohan's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDid you reset the computer? Instructions for this can be found on Legacy777's website. Go to the member's section, find his name, click on it and go to his website. You'll find a goldmine of info on late model Subarus. Good luck.

FNG Howdy Ya'all!
northguy replied to Damn True's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIn the older legacies, there was a problem with a valve losing pressure, leaking. It made the auto trannies hesitate upon start up. One could fix it, but it's a royal pain. I've been running mine for 3 years like that and no continued problems other than letting it idle to build up pressure. That's no a big deal up here where you need to let the motor warm up anyway.
