  1. Believe it or not, that thing will still go for higher than the opening price.
  2. Welcome to the board. Sounds like a good score on the Brat. Check your Y pipe.
  3. It allows you to keep the stock 4 speed set up in your car and lets you just cleanly bolt up the 5spd without any fabrication. It makes the interior look clean, and it makes the swap very easy.
  4. Get the 1 piece driveline made and balanced (51") Buy Jerry's conversion kit for the shifter - it is sweet. You'll need a different clutch set up for it also. But mostly. make sure the tranny you're putting in is in good shape.
  5. Welcome. You might want to be a bit more specific on your location. Might be another member nearby.
  6. Get a full sized spare, an extra fan belt, a tool kit, some premixed antifreeze, an extra gas can, a couple of quarts of oil, and plan your trip so that you can make contact with other board members along the way. Sounds like a good score.
  7. Welcome to the board. Almost all subbies tap a bit. You might try sea foam or MMO in the oil for a couple hundred miles then change the oil. Mouse nest: yes, it will require a bit of disassembly to get to it. Best to get a repair manual before digging into it to assist you. Sounds like a good buy. You might check the condition of the ATF for the tranny.
  8. Check the tightness of all nuts and bolts around the torsion bar.

  10. Ed, congrats on the new mod. Looks good, as I'd expect from you and Qman. I'm wondering though, why this is posted in the marketplace? Are you now selling them?
  11. Buy some long underwear, and pick up a copy of "How to Speak Minesotan". It has lots of tips like "learn to say 'Ya, sure. You betcha'. And the ever popular "Heckuva deal." Or "How about a little lunch?" Bone up on casserole recipes before you go.
  12. Welcome to the board. Just stay up with the maintenance.
  13. Kelly, if you got some time before you take off next week, I'll meet you some place and let you take it for a drive (maybe rally it a bit). I'd value your assessment.
  14. I may just take up drinking again to justify buying a set.
  15. Thanks Tim. When I swap the tranny out in May (with Torxxx's replacement) I'll make sure that they are so.
  16. Too nice. Good find.
  17. I'd contact Richierich and pay him a "look-over" fee to assess the vehicle and see if it's worth the money. He's "The Man" for Subaru repairs in Portland and is a very honest guy to boot.
  18. May a curse be on them. May no one in Homer catch even one Halibut the entire season. (As if that'll happen!)
  19. NGK or Accell fit fine. I got a set of Accell wires from e-bay for 15 bucks.
  20. Snowman (PHD in Voodoo Engineering) has installed a high capacity fuel filter that appears to be for marine application or for a much larger motor. It does a better job of separating water from the fuel also. PM him for details.
  21. I'll pull it after work tonight and get it in the mail asap. Glad to help out.
  22. Brad, do you want a spare carb from my other motor (Brat)? Say the word and it's in the mail (priority, of course) at no charge.
