  1. If there isn't any gravel nearby, drive up onto the neighbor's fine-trimmed lawn and chirp them off while pushing down on the selector lever.
  2. And yet another unsolicited testimonial for P.K.'s lift kits. It doesn't surprise me.
  3. Jack up the rear wheel and let it unwind, or find some gravel nearby and shift it there. It's just torque-bound.
  4. There are two in Soldotna. I 'll post a pic when I get the time.
  5. It looks like everything is going to work out OK.
  6. Welcome. First, I'm wondering if the size tires and wheels you plan to put on will have clearance. I put a 3" Ozified kit in and 215/75/14's on and ended up haking to do some fender mods for clearance. You might check on that. 2nd, I believe Mudrat is working on a kit/adaptor that will allow you to put an EJ engine into your brat without too many headaches. Do a search and you should find some good info. Or PM Subarubrat. I believe he's done it.
  7. I'm glad you're excited. (Please learn to use punctuation; it makes more sense that way.)
  8. Good wrench work, Kelly. You'll go far.
  9. Kelly, congrats on the new purchase. I'll keep my eyes open for options locally. Did you know that ATW went under? They didn't even announce a sell out; just sold everything lock, stock and barrel. It pained me to see car after car crushed and hauled off to Japan as scrap.
  10. Keep us posted on how this venture works out. I'll be interested to see how much boost a $600 exhaust system will give.
  11. John, I agree. All pricing is relative. I paid $2700 for Richie's Brat as that is a cheap price for a Brat that cherry in AK. In Oregon, it was probably a bit high. It would have gone for more then that on the East coast. You'd know the value of a good clean car in CO better than anyone else. Your integrity was never in question.
  12. Best of luck with it, but by then, there will be a new gold standard to beat.
  13. I put Herculiner in my Brat (3 coats) for under $80. Pretty tough stuff. Easy application, too.
  14. You're posting in the right area. 15 k for a used Subie is a bit much for my wallet. Still, I'd look for a model with the 2.2 liter engine. They're pretty tough; not many major problems.
  15. It would be pretty hard to outdo Soobme's design and fab.
  16. John, we're not passing judgement on you, it's just that we've all seen better deals, and without seeing the actual car, it's easy to torn down a car with no motor for 5 bills.
  17. Be patient. You'll find a better deal. Wait for your dream car.
  18. I'm not familiar with him (but I haven't been here that long. Did you check members under S?
  19. Better get ahold of Moosens.
  20. I've heard rumor that PK was dangerosly close to having one. Might try to PM him and see if it's in production yet. I also believe I read that Mudrat had a 2'+ lift for Legacies avav=ilable. Try him, too. Let us know what you find out.
  21. The guy would make more charging a penny per word for everyone who has read his story than he can possibly make from the sale of his weber. His story has to be true; it's too funny to be made up.
  22. Go the route GD suggests, then back away slowly and empty 5 rounds of OO Buck shot into the block. Then go buy a replacement motor for $100 and drop it in.
  23. Paul, not to hijack your post, but I got the door handles. Thanks. Also, there is a new member in CT wondering if there is anyone else in the neighborhood. I dropped your name. Have fun in the barrens.
