  1. If ya want an oil pump I recently went out to pick n pull off se foster there is a 94 loyale wagon
  2. This is what my original owners manual says... It does seem to come and go does it all year round... for the past 9yrs
  3. This is what my original owners manual says... It does seem to come and go does it all year round... for the past 9yrs
  4. That is troublesome though... where does the clicking come from? Under the dashboard? I know that when I just turn the key to start I hear a click like ignition.. perhaps a relay is starting to fail? And there is one last hidden gremlin that i found... the screw on the rotor came out which in turn left me stranded 10 mins into my 20 min commute..
  5. Yes sir... amazing stuff and ye fire sure expensive!
  6. Timing belt tensioners are always suggested to be replaced when belts are changed.. I never have.. possibly the tensioner/s were not released back to apply pressure and one of the 2 belt has slipped? Let us know..
  7. If you are talking about where the camshaft tower assembly meets rhe cylinder head there is none.. all we do is use SUBAGOO sealant and that's it.. p/n is 004403007 silicone gasket you have to order is via subaru dealership or other.
  8. Killer score! The lifter tick is normal... it is the lifter tick of death... every ea 82 does it many people say it does and as well my owners manual states that it does it lol they say it will do this until it builds oil pressure... mine does it on warm up fly down the freeway up Hill down hill sometimes all day and other days not at all no matter the season lol And I myself have the same weird acceleration on my 5spd especially going up Hill if I let up a little from half throttle it seems to pull more.. other than when the jam comes I'm lucky to have a manual and drop back a gear
  9. Perhaps a chiltons manual may help... i got one for my 1993 loyale I has wiring diagram... hopefully you can straight wire via fuse box by color as we know all too well color codes change at some point...
  10. On the passenger side up by the fire wall there is a white vacuum canister that may be disconnected and if so that may be the problem... that controls the silonide other than that I have had wires in my shifter boot that got cut check there too...
  11. I would go back to electrical... mainly when you get it started.. check how many volts your alternator is putting out, put multimeter on 20v and increase rpm you should get 13.00 to 14.00 hopefully, that will eliminate possible alternator failure. Please let us know how it goes! Dead end threads sauck!
  12. I would check into the fuel regulator.. now that reread what you were saying..# i was at work# to me...fuel pushing up backwards out of the carb to me says either your mechanical timing is off and or the regulator is pushing fuel past the needle seats and flooding ya out..
  13. And as to the roll pin... an oldtimer 30 yr subaru mechanic that did my clutch a few years ago told me that the spline may not allow you to line up the hole so ya have try it the other way before ya smash k it in there.. I grinned and to him I tried and that's why I left something to grab next time i change it out.. he said oh reman cv joint with an opposite grin.. it was a funny conversation...
  14. Intresting question I must say... i found this read.. I vegly remember my 1979 2dr fe having 6 stars.. http://thenewswheel.com/behind-badge-what-do-six-stars-subarus-logo-signify/
  15. Could be the trottle potion sensor.. I have noticed I can make mine do the same thing if I don't wait for total warm up... but in your situation is quite different... it could be somthing thing to do with the choke which I am pretty sure has something to do with water temp but I have also read throttle position sensors with have the same Rev up and down symptoms and there is a hose that connects to it and the other into the front of port.. could be cracked ...not unusual that vacuum lines present problems
  16. My experience with all the oiling issues are don't worry obout the lifter tick every one of us will raise our hands.. but now onto the main leaks that I had.. Valve covers espasially the cam carriers where they bolt onto the block there is a channel that will need what sub mechanics call SUBAGOO i clean the channel steel.wool rubbing alcochol use just the goo in it no gasket just goo.. it is specifically made for the subaru.. works great I had to go to the dealer. Kinda expensive but you won't have to deal with it ever again... just don't forget to put little .. Oring.. back in..aaahyeeeeee! Cam seals leak somtimes.. Crank seal leaks I gouge my seal pocket taking mine out and tried JB WELD and sand paper to fix it.. it's a slow leak so be careful everything is aluminum.. Oil pump leaked once might be again as I racked up 100,000 miles since or oil pan gasket can't really tell because it could be the crank seal which is higher than the oil pump.. And lastly... unfortunately for me I didn't do my own clutch but meanwhile you say you are pulling the motor ... good for you... there is a mysterious leak in the rear of the motor... it is from what they call the Separator Plate . It is white and brittle if your engine is still stock.. you will need to replace that with a Metal one. Keep us up dated. I also did my head gaskets I got mine from the dealer...here's a link to that episode I did http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/155547-my-compression-test-resultsea82/
  17. Had the Torque Converter pin fall inside housing, tried splitting the case worked at getting it out for 3 days... then Realized there was the Window hatch.. other than that forgot to put the Oil filter on before start up.. LOL Dumb!
  18. So yeah mystery Ball bearing gouged Camshaft... And got as much of the Fire Ring out... No real Warpage... The other head was warped minimum 0.002 but got Fire Ring out sadley I lost that premium pic... all seems well... hardest part..CLEANING Parts!!
