  1. I am with GD on this... while I have not done this repair it makes a TON of sense. You are saying you are having trouble removing the spacers... so we have established they arent going anywhere... why not incorporate them as part of the solution?!? Its that much more meat for the threads to grab on to.
  2. This one I would say the MAIN thing to make sure the car doesn't leave you stranded is to try and find out when the timing belts were last done. It wont hurt the car WHEN they break, but you will either be fixing them on the side of the road or calling AAA :-\ The heater fan issue is likely due to the resistor in the passenger footwell (behind the glovebox) missing some stages... I think we have all changed an EA82 blower motor resistor
  3. if mileage is an issue how about the new legacy / outback with the CVT?? drives like an auto but gets 31MPG (Rated) highway.
  4. I think that one used to be owned by one of richies customers... not sure who bought it :-\
  5. Walmart is evil Les Schwab should have the tires in that size... may cost a little more but their service is hard to beat (always easy to find one if you get a flat or something....)
  6. if you can afford them, get them. I have bilzzaks on the baja and its downright difficult to spin all 4 tires anymore on snow now.
  7. the left taillight still looks good... you should save it and sell it!
  8. I may want to come by at some point and see if the jump seats fit in the Baja.... would make a good secret weapon at WCSS12
  9. 96's have different guages... they had 2 large center guages and fuel on one side and temp on the other, not the center speedo, tach on one side and the other 2 on the other side like 98+'s
  10. wow looks nice Have a gas pedal for it?? (no sorry I dont have one)
  11. What about the Justy CVT.... THAT is the worst tranny subaru ever made.... the 3AT is the second worst
  12. that must be putting so much strain on the wheel bearings and other components under there....
  13. just make sure you arent overdoing what the wheel bearings on the trailer can handle... if it has tiny tires you may have to go slower than 100 KPH
  14. I had two 82's both were GL's like that.... had the one square headlight on each side. and the blue flannel interior Oh... found a Baja commercial.... which I was told they never made!! I guess they just never aired them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzyJXC5Jxco Thanks for finding this... is there a way to download this video off youtube so we can archive it?
  15. And the lesson was?? Never go to Jiffy Lube
  16. they should, just be aware that 82's had the antenna on the other side. And some models had the chrome bumper and some had the black bumper.... try and get parts from the same style as yours to be safe (like a 4 headlight car with a black bumper for example)
  17. hmmmm more or less just a high roof van. Looks like you will have to sand it all down to repaint it since that tiki paint is all flaking off :-\ too bad its not one of the dually ones... you would gain SO much interior space with one of those.
  18. Very likely you could find someone on here who could do them way cheaper than a shop. Just need a floor jack, spring compressor and some basic tools. I have a trusted shop here in Portland that I would likely have do it for me, but if I didnt there is no shortage of members in town who I am sure who would do it for afew hundred bucks and a few beers.
  19. if you do get it out you may want to install either a new plug or even one of those easy drain plugs that you just open a valve.
  20. clifford the big red dog subaru won it with 355,981 i think. second place was the smart service legacy with 355,7XX i think... I forget who was third, possible dave with around 326K Yes I was judging that class and sponsored the trophy
  21. I tried to find a picture from the movie road trip... of the school for the blind bus, but couldnt... I assume it looks similar to this though...
