  1. "the belts seem to be tight" If what you think was true, he could easily reproduce it in his driveway.
  2. only if it was "Lately, if I really stomp on the gas, a massive squealing noise comes from the engine and though the RPMs go up, the car barely moves"
  3. The mode shuts off the alarm for the car wash, the mechanic, and the Valet incase they park the car with the keys in it.
  4. One thing we have learned from Bugs Bunny DON'T PUSH THE READ BUTTON!
  5. There are no "Clutch Tests". There is just one to see if the clutch is going, and thats when a car can move under it's own power. In essence everytime you step on the gas and your rpms go up and the car does not go faster that is a failed clutch test. That screaming noise you hear is what is left of your clutch destroying your flywheel. Thats is metal against metal noise.
  6. You fried your transmission. With fluid that low i am surprised you have any of the clutches functioing at all.
  7. It is an alarm. Someplace on the car, usually the left kick panel shold be a switch for valet mode. This isnt the kind to push for valet, i have one of those in the justy.
  8. Year? Mileage? Manual? If it is manual it is a fried clutch, if not we need to dig into it more.
  9. Dealer or not, they all have "boat payments" Find another shop as they are awfully high. Exhaust leak should be fixed because the way subarus are set up, the HVAC will suck it into the car. Most likey it is the flex joint or a gasket. Mine was the flex jont and I had it welded.
  10. So your brain had pre-ignition? and where is my coal!
  11. You had way too much Christmas cheer. that year doesnt have one (I have one parked infront of my house so you can trust me on that)
  12. Gross he is way over that 100K warrenty. 1800 somebody is behind on his boat payments. What source for the replacement parts have you used ? The fuel smell I would just replace all the little rubber hoses. The alt, well they get tired. The cat? How was that decided, I woudl have replaced the O2 sensor with an OE one first and see what happened.
  13. hrmmmm For giggles chek the alt output. What is the temp outside. WHat happens if you disconnect the fan switch. Is the radiator flowing properly
  14. Check out this engine completely. Remove timing covers, make sure all the pistons are there (no joke). That is juts too good a price. DO a leakdown test if you can.
  15. I think ( I might be wrong ) DOHC use the MAF sensor for this duty. Turbos have them, not too sure about SOHC engines, I think it depends upon the year. Not all cars have IAT sensors. You THINK you saw it, I think you may have not.
  16. Well i did not want to suggest using a carbon based fuel source for anything drastic other then heating the wires. Goodness knows how those things can easily get out of control
  17. the yellow harness and plugs are the air bag wires. If it is in your way unplug it. if in doubt unplug it. The only nthing I would do because I am paranoid is cover the connector with electrical tape.
  18. 4. Main Harness A: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 1) Turn ignition switch off. 2) Disconnect ground cable from battery and wait for at least 20 seconds before starting work. i can meail you the SRS section. This is for a 1998 but they are all the same I checked
  19. Electricity is an evil and confusing God ... it has to be spun in the car to really check it and read the AC pulse. Glad it is fixed.
