YOu may have to find a chicken to slaughter to pull the codes from the ECU. I forget the ritual for a obdI but it involves a chicken, some candles, and i think an eye of newt. Do a search here, someplace or someone will tell you how to check the codes. Thats a good place to start. Its going to be an intermittent failure whic can be a pita. The crank sesnor controls spark, the cam controls fuel. nipper

How old is the cap and wires? Sounds like it can be due for those too. nipper

For what they are they are fine little cars. The "automatics" suck, as they tend to die without wanring, and parts are neerly impossible to get for the auto tranny. http://subarujusty.proboards20.com/index.cgi LOts more information there. Personally i would love to have a Justy as an around town car. nipper

I guess i should add this was the third or 4th time ive been rear ended. The other times resulted in no real damage to the cars, and whiplash to me. nipper

Boxers are the best balanced engines. All opposing forces cancel each other out because everything is 180 degrees apart. This is a well established enginering fact. As they get larger, they start taking up more space then a v engine. In line engines make can make a lot of torque, but are not high reving (longer throw crank shafts mean lower redline). http://www.autozine.org/technical_school/engine/smooth1.htm happy reading. nipper

I had my 1998 legacy. The car had no personailty so it never got a name. It was a stormy afternoon, typical summer thunderstorms. I was between storms sitting at a red light in NJ in theleft hand lane. The light had been red for a few seconds. I looked in my rear view mirror as I tend to when stopped. This dodge stratus was coming up fast behind me. At some point i knew he wasnt going to stop. I sat on the horn, went through the red light, and STOOD on the gass pedal. The cross traffic stopped, as if they saw what was going to happen. No car can move fast enough when someone is coming up at 55mph and decides he's not going to stop. I maybe got up to all of 5-7mph before impact. The best we can figure is that if i just sat there i would have been dead. When you floor a car, the nose goes up, the tail goes down. The stratus hit the trunk, and not the bumper. If he hit the bumper, well, i dont want to talk about it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=932 You cant see it well, but the entire car is buckled. Two back surgeries, one nervous breakdown, and tons of physical therapy i am still here. i will never be 100% again, but ill take 85-90%. Which leads to another question, which i have been meaning to ask someone, but i dont like getting emotional here... Its been 2 years since the accident. The physical injuriries are now between me and God as to how they heal, as Dr's have said there is nothing more they can do. i think my brain has filed this as the immediate health emergency is dealt with. Lawyers are done, so are insurance fights, and im on disability. Now all of a suddeni am having problems driving in traffic. i am stressing out. Trucks dont bother me. Stop and go makes me nervous. Super highways are ok, two or three lane highways freak me out. Anyone ever have a delayed reaction like this after a major car accident? nipper

They are Hella driving lights. I can make night onto day. What i did was screw them right into the bumper skin. I drilled a pilot hole, then drove the screws in by hand. The bumper skin isnt very thick, but its tough. After a year I've only had one screw come loose on me and that was my fault. I also had the light mismounted, so I had to move it anyway. nipper

after my accident, next day i went to the er. Killed 9 hrs there. Swollen knee, extreemly twisted ankle and back and neck pain. They couldnt even wrap the knee correctly. they sent me home with a missmatched cane and moltrin. The ignored the back pain. A week later i went to my Dr (thats when i felt mobile enough to go). He said to me "wow, what can i give you to make you feel better" (massive pain killers). My Dr had been in a near fatal car accident himself, so he knew what i was going through. Took 6 weeks to discover i had a major spine injury. So watch yourself for the next 6-8 weeks. nipper -

I talked it over with some people, as my insurance settlement is in the mail. Blue has a new engine and 1/2 a new traany, and just needed an axle and struts. ANYTHING (damn that new jeep looks good) would be in the 30,000 plus range (not to mention poor mpg)to get the same clearance and make nipper very happy. So i figured i can blow X amount of money on myself, and bank 95% of the rest. There is a good chance i can never ride a motorcycle again, which was my first choice. SO i get a really hot looking card, get money in the bank, and save myself 5 years of payments and car insurance And blu should be good for another 5-10 years. nipper
