  1. don't EVER come here and complain about low gas mileage then nipper
  2. er um ... is there any room for peoples with all the tools you carry nipper
  3. The light doesnt work off the float. It has its own sensor. nipper
  4. i wonder how old the hardware is on the rear drums. Springs do get tired after a while and need to be replaced. nipper
  5. cost vs value. T stat has been around 100 years, and it works and works well, and is dirt cheap to produce. Just because something CAN be computer controlled doesnt mean it should be. As the emissions gets tighter, then yes you will see an all electric cooling system. Thankfully since the idea of a 48 volt electrical system fell flat on its face (for now) we have a reprive, but it is coming. nipper
  6. That sounds like the front pump all right. The noise and the bubbles are give aways. You still need to top off the tranny with the car running and after going through all the gears. Bubbles may be from low fluid too. nipper
  7. i never assume anything. It could be as simple as some ice on the wheel or rotor. If it doesnt come back dont worry about it. When was the last time the breaks were done on the car? nipper
  8. ok it sounds like air in the system, but just to be sure, fill the system with coolant, let the car warm up with the cap off, and look for bubbles inn the cooling system. No bubbels your HG is probably ok, if you got bubbles you ned to think about what you want to do next nipper
  9. er um how do i break this to you gently its a scangauge that a lot of us have been using including me. nipper
  10. Sadly no. Replacing a front pump is possible, but in the long run a replacement tranny is easier to deal with. the front pump is the heart of the automatic tranny. Take it to an independent shop to have them confirm it since i cant hear the noise from here. I can be wrong. Get a haynes manual , chilton isnt great. nipper
  11. six foot breaker bar just means use a pipe on the breaker bar. nipper
  12. Not so fast. Change the fluid first. The front pump is in front of the transmission behind the torque converter (like all automatics). It will sound like a power steering pump if its having issues. nipper
  13. Check your fluid levels. I'm wondering if it is your front pump in the tranny nipper
  14. hehehe thats what goes with the chisel. But yes a hammer, how about a 6' long breaker bar? nipper
  15. on the other hand, boing follwed by ching ching ching is bad.... :-p nipper
  16. if not they sure do before the next timing belt change. You change these seals weather they are leaking or not. nipper
