  1. if its not on the filler neck side, it can be either a hose or sadly tank rot. There are two access covers in the trunk where the fuel pump and sender are. nipper
  2. Wix or Purliator. I would never put anything from walmart on anything that i care about. nipper
  3. Doesnt necassarily mean less filter media, but it DOES mean less oil in the engine. Looks can be deceiving in oil filters. I think subaru changed across the board to the smaller filters, but not sure. nipper
  4. The bonous of putting it in low with the automatic is that you lock in the AWD at a 50/50 split. Low range is nice to have, but the torque converter makes up for it, considering subaurs low range isnt all that low. nipper
  5. The landrover is also higher. Find some snow (not a drift) that is over the Rovers cront bumber (and 1/2 way up the grill to be a fair test) and we will talk. nipper
  6. The sheilds are fairly robust, thats why whenver i see the hose clamp im a little i cant even bend them with pliers where they ratle, so i dont see hoe a hose clamp would bend them nipper
  7. Mine rattle where they curve up fight before the engine. How does one affix a hose clamp there? nipper
  8. Has anyone come up with a fix for this? its annoying when you have a almost high end aftermarket stero, and have to spend the next hour resetting it. nipper
  9. Dear gbhrps, I know its hydrostatic, but its so rare that something must be wrong some place else. I'm 45, done more break jobs then i would like to admit too, and have seen it only once, when the "operator" lost the cap to the master cylinder. nipper
  10. Ohhhhhhhh that what this was about Why didnt you say so in the first place. To the left of the glove box towards the center of the car (thats where it is in the legacies)
  11. Lets start with basics, do you have spark, and if you do is it a strong spark.. nipper
  12. Well there is all this talk of hydrogen, maybe that will make your car an hybrid if you switch to that. Helium just gives you a funny exhaust note nipper
  13. ah yes but then is it metric N2 or english N2 nipper
  14. COUld be how it got to 400,000 on a turbo motor, the CEL is burned out Check for vaccum hoses, and check the ignitor and distrubotor. At that mileage, either one can be way over due for replacement. the ignitor can drive you batty. nipper
  15. Its time for a rebuild, especially at that mileage. What is happening is that the clutches are glazed in the clutch pack. They do grab once they get hot from slipping and the duty C (tcu) doing its best to make them work. nipper
  16. Gates is a yay. Gates is an OE supplier for many mfg, and i have used them many times, from fan belts to HUGE industrial drives. They are probably the only other name i would trust besides subaru. nipper
  17. well then we won't even mention flushing your tires of the summer air and putting winter air in them nipper
  18. Got to use the winter mix for this time of year nipper
  19. In all honesty it really is premature for a bearing to fail at this low a mileage (or have you been hard on the clutch. Does the noise go away with your foot off the clutch? nipper
