A word of advice..... Stuffing the 2.2 is Cool, I've done it twice now... into the Gen one cars... But you will need heavier Struts or at minimum heavier springs..... FreeRange ( Nels ) has his Gen One brat lifted, and the struts cranked to the max , and still not stiff enough to maintain the extra Engine/Trans Weight... His ride is in a major nose dive.... I am looking into coil swaps/replacements now, so We can cure the issue.... Have fun with it.....It drives like a totally different machine...

Mary, what Ross says makes good sense, also, when you took the last set of bearings out, did they come out real easy, or did you need to beat them out with a drift..? Also, you say you drove them out backwards....? one has to come out the front of the hub, while the rear comes out the rear of the hub, with the collar keeping the distance between them correct, I don't mess with aftermarket bearings anymore....I buy Factory, one cause they come as a kit with both bearings and Both seals, and the seal is a Factory double lipped seal.... Hey All, I found My Donor Car in the Pheonix Area down in Arizona...I am Unfortunately going to have to trailer it Home....So I am Driving My Suburban and Car trailer down to retrieve it...... To help me with cost of Fuel which is going to be just over the 500.00 round trip I am here to ask and see if anyone needs any parts or Pieces shuttled....? I will have the entire rear of My Truck open both ways for smaller parts, And the trailer open going south...... I am tetatively traveling I-5 South from Eugene, Oregon to the L.A. area before cutting over East to Pheonix....On my return trip I am most likely going to shoot straight north and Run through Salt Lake City Utah on my way Home....Although I may do it the reverse Order..... Also I do Have Some Larger Parts and Pieces I could sell...?? I have a Complete Running hydralic EA-81 with 109,000 on it , I have Rear Disc Brakes Complete off a Turbo Car... Hello all....I need someone off the board who is in or very near pheonix willing to let me borrow their garage for 4-5 hrs....I am going to be flying in on Oct 1st, and Buy an SVX it has a bad trans....I am bringing a 2wd Auto trans with me to stuff in it , and drive it back home on... So I am calling out to anyone in the area with a garage or even carport I can use for roughly 5 hrs.....I will be taking all associated parts with me, so there will be no left over mess... The Cost on these Baja Bumpers is 895.00 raw, and 1100.00 powdercoated......And before you hack up a Lung over the cost, Here is the Full skinny.... It is Made out of 2" .120 wall tubing, All bracketry is 3/8 thick, it will accept a 4700 lb Warn winch or a 6800 lb ramsey winch up inside the bumper so it's protected, or I can mount a Receiver in the center so the Winch can be Stinger mounted...for use front or rear..? Also It comes with light tabs for a minimum of 4 lights and space for 6...... Also And by far the Best feature in My opinion, is that it Vastly improves your aproach angle by several inches...... Depending on the Base car you want to start with...? get an Outback, Forester , Or what ever.....If you can find one with a dead 5 speed in it, dump that for a Custom Hi-Lo 5 speed.... Morning Noah.... If it were Me.....Buy a mudrat special from CCR..... Ea-81 Motor with 1600 pistons, Brat cam, and Heads decked .020...... Then Gut the Exhaust...and Stick a Weber on it...... Doing these 3 things together will give you a rough 110-115 HP motor...... and It will be just as reliable as a Stock engine....as long as you don't overheat it..... Did you ever get the Wagon squared away...? I still have parts here for you......Sorry, It's gotten very crazy here with Show So soon, aand Going to work for the Dealer..... Talk soon, John

Running without T-stat.....MAke sure he runs at least 50/50 antifreeze mix....I tend to lean on the heavy sid for anifreeze...its good in an all alum motor.... Good luck, John

Offroadsubaruguy..... The same bumper desing will fit anything from a 90 legacy up to a brand new 05 Outback, or what ever.....I did my best to make it that way on purpose....One size fits all....The only differance on a Legacy, Impreza or Forester is that there will be no Eye guard under the light.....The Baja and Outback have a Raised Bumper design there that other models do not..... I've actually put one on a 97 Legacy sedan.....IT looks Very Bad A**..... Hope this Brings a Gleam to your eye...... Later, John

FYI.....Irishman..... You can get 3" of lift on any EA-81 Car in the rear using a Stock subaru Component.....But I'll keep that a Secret too.... No need to go borrow parts from a Vw or other brand of rig....

I build these Cars All the Time.... I have several Questions For you.... 1.) How many miles on the car and trans...? 2.) Whats the rust issue like...? 3.) Are you mechanically inclined enough to tackle installing a Lift yourself....? Ok, and here are some right now realtime recomendations.... As far as the tranny goes, Get an external trans cooler on it ASAP....Run the plumbing though the rad like it is now, then to the external cooler then back to the trans....Doing it this way will keep the fluid as cool as possible.... If you can get away with it, Delete the cat, and stock exhaust....Go 2 1/2 off the turbo into 3" or 2 1/2 all the way back....Also stick a K&N Air filter in it or some aftermarket high volume filter....these 2 things together will improve economy as well as performance.... Also, Phantom Grip LSD is an Aftermarket unit you can buy for around 275-300$ and is an easy install to the rear diff...... Light trail running like old roads, or unimproved roads will be no issue for your ride in its current state , but if you want to tempt off camber mud holes or large ditchs you will have issues without at least a rear LSD...... I can build a 3" or 4" Kit for your Auto driven Car......I've done them before One was Even on a Turbo Wagon..... Hey Shady.... First chance I've had to come see the pics of your Kit.... My # one Question.....??? How Long do you expect the Hyme Joints at the bottom of your rear strut Mount to last...? there is a very Specific reason that there is Rubber at both ends of the strut Mount.... Also, A word to The Guys Who have bought already..... Document the miles you put on your Ride offroad....And After the 3rd or 4th trip, Check things over, Especially All round Tube mounting points....Specifically look at Bottom of Body where Bolts Go to Captive Nuts....I see body stressing and pulled sheetmetal in the future...... How Do I know this , Cause I have been there and Done it Way before there were ever any Kits On the Market....... There is a BIG reason that square/Flat surfaces are used over Small round Surfaces to bolt all suspension components to a Vehicle....?? I wish you the Best with your Kit James...... John

Never Saw the Car.....tried to send you the title several times to a bad address...? Still have it sitting here....If you haven't Bogussed something, Come get it at the show.... I charged you the Very Large Sum of $500.00 Labor on the Forester Project....I also Did A never Before Done Custom Job in less than 3 weeks....Start To Finish FIND ME ANYONE IN THE WORLD WILLING AND ABLE TO DO IT FOR THAT MONEY IN THAT AMOUNT OF TIME.......?????????? AS far as Your SVX goes......Again Find any Shop in town Willing and Able to do it for that Money in that amount of time Your Quote For 1800.00 from Rallitek Was through me at My Buddy Price as A favor to me to get your car done and that was only after I talked them into even think about taking the project on, cause they don't do that type of Custom Work....And if you got a Quote from someone in Portland Willing to Do it for 800.00 Why did you not take it there instead of to me and My Highly inflated shop rate of 65.00 an hr......? I called you person to person as soon as I heard about it having an Issue from Sean at Rallitek..As a favor to you and Sean......I even went as far as trying to bring the other Bumper he had sitting down there to Southern California on my Own time to figure the issue out.....But Sean Told me you had a Friend Coming this Direction and that he was going to play Middle Man...?? I hadn't heard anymore on this subject untill a Moderator brought this Post to my attention.... With a Torch A Welder and A grinder, Anything can be Done... Its all a matter of Getting the parts in your face, tearing the car down barebones, then test Fitting the 5 lug stuff under it.... Not having the Pitch stopper will wear the engine tranny mounts quicker.....Also, You will get alot more transmission flop....meaning shifter flop..... Normally, if I have to cut one to stretch it, I beef it up by sliding a Larger diameter Tube over the exhisting piece, weded proper they don't bend or break....... If your gonna do it, do it right..... Later, John
