Optimal Timing for EA82T
Thats what I'm affraid of. So when I check it, since I know what is stock (thanks Caleb) I will just set it to stock. Then maybe bump it up 2 or 4 degree's to compare. This is all for a EA82T, MPFI. I hadn't even thought of the knock sensor, I'm glad you brought that up. I can see this isnt like tuning my EA81 The EA81 runs best at like 10-12 degree's even tho stock is 7-8. -Brian

Most of this footage was taken with Austins Digital Camcorder. I believe he's behind the camera as well. -Brian

Kinda piggyback from my other video thread. This is some of the same footage, but its Eric & Ken. http://www.usmb.net/movies/Eric-Ken-ReitersPit.wmv Its roughly 20megs. Use Windows Media Player and it oughta work. Ken & Austin's footage is next. -Brian

Im going to have to cut ALOT from Bob's run Eric you, being the 1st, took a LONG time. Rob, yes I got footage of you flooring it through there too. Subie94: Me and Jibs are working on putting together a film. We'll have to go get some fresh new footage, but thats the reason im digitizing all my video i have (again)... to prep it for the video. Eric, winXP comes with a program called "movie Maker". Its what im using and its very simple to put together video with the transitional effects. Im working on titles and stuff but its really not that advanced. More to come... -Brian

Optimal Timing for EA82T
With a turbocharged car it shouldnt be effected much. I think i'll go bump my current timing up 2 degree's and try it then keep bumping until it pings. -Brian

Optimal Timing for EA82T
Was going to do a tune-up on my RX real soon. What are you performance guys using for the ignition timing? Im not sure what stock timing is, but trying to get alittle more power out of the RX the cheap and easy way. -Brian

Old video I just finished ripping...
I have footage of the rest of the HP going through that as well. If Eric and Ken give me permission, maybe I'll rip them and put them up as well. Ken, without your spotting that day... im sure I would have punctured my oil pan. Was stupid of me to travel without it, but yes.... a lesson learned -Brian

How to un-freese axles
The person behind the counter was probably stupid. Usually they'll charge for everything attatched. Once i went with a friend to get a rear hatch for his wagon. They charged him for the hatch, the glass, the plastic interior pieces.... it was horrible. Glad you got your LSD -Brian
-
How to un-freese axles
Yeah, take a sledge to one of the axle boots and try to break it free. If that doesnt work, then not sure what to say, you can unbolt the entire rear control arm, but right now i cant picture a EA82 rear suspension in my head -Brian

EA81 lift Kit Instructions
Scorpion is slightly different than PK/BYB lifts. Just remove the lift blocks, you cannot mistake them. Also, dont forget to remove the steering extension as well, it connects from the steering gearbox to the steering shaft. nobody on the USMB will have scorpion lift kit instructions cause we all have PK/BYB Lifts. The BYB board might have members with a Scorpion lift, but as far as I know, not a single Scorpion 2" lift has ever been imported from Aus to the US. -Brian

and still...nothing.
Who needs respect when you have a 230hp RX? Screw them and their WRX's. Do you know how many WRX's I pass by every day? I dont even get a glance, they probably dont even know im in a Subaru. I preffer it that way actually. And i know how morgan feels. When I go wheelin with the big guys, i get a ton of crap. Im the butt of every joke as well, and even tho it pisses me off to no end, i know things will never change so i just forget about it and preffer not to dwell on it. Just remember, everyone here at the USMB respects you. That should be enough to keep you satisfied. And if its not, then buy a 2.5 RS, or a STi and be done with it. -Brian

EA81 lift Kit Instructions
Look for lift blocks, and remove them. There are 2 lift blocks at the engine crossmember. Then you have 6 blocks behind the crossmember, 3 on each side (look at the rear of your lower control arms). You should have 6 blocks in the rear of the car as well. 2 blocks on each side of the torsion bar assembly, and 2 blocks for the diff hanger as well. There are also one block on the top of each front strut, and if you have an original BYB lift, then look for rear shock extensions. if its a Scorpion lift, you might have the rear shock extensions at the top of the rear shocks. Prepare to have the original bolts handy.... the lift bolts will surely be too long to use on a stock rig. -Brian
