  1. About to do the signature update soon. Gotta get rid of that old pic of the RX. Not much left to photoshop now The car is almost 100% the way I want it. Just needs some XT front struts, and new RX decals and Im set. -Brian
  2. They're 15" rims. I have a set of 14" i was thinking of putting snowtires on to use for rally (or get rally tires to use on snow). The 195's i have on the car are wide enough for my liking. I was originally planning on getting 205/50's but the tire shop didnt have any in stock. The 195/50's are .5" smaller than 185/70R13's i had on it before, and I can tell the difference. Seems the car is sitting alittle lower, and as soon as I find a 2WD XT the car will sit even lower than it is now. Oh, and while swapping the rear tires... i noticed my RX has KYB GR2's in the rear Thanks russ. -Brian
  3. Really. might have to come check it out. Dont let JB know or he'll snatch it up -Brian
  4. The lifted wagon will live on in Brat form. It will be dismantled when I have a brat to put the lift on. -Brian
  5. A rebuilt one will cost alot, but not $650. Dunno where to go, dave got one from Roobuilders i think. -Brian
  6. I did get my shoes wet, but wasnt deep enough to get my feet wet. I was thinking of setting the camera on MOvie mode and put it on the ground, then shoot myself driving through the water back to shore. That section is very shallow, ive been there before with other cars... and have gotten the "walk on water" shot. -Brian
  7. Do you have an engine to put this all on? -Brian
  8. Sorry jibs, i shoulda called. I messaged you earlier, thought you were online. Anyhow, I spent the day taking care of stuff at the house. Also had to go into work for a meeting, but had time to mount my rims on the car. I might be getting new days off. Im going to try for either a saturday or a sunday. That should make it easier for everyone to meet up. -Brian
  9. I vote RX too... just cause thats what they were born to do That shell that shawn had built was a rally machine, it would be great to see it alive again. -Brian
  10. Had to rob the lugnuts from my lifted wagon. I figure, the next time it gets moved is to get dismantled, so leaving it sit on Subaru Lug nuts shouldnt do much harm. After I mounted them, i took the car for a ride. Had to get it washed cause the snow trip left it quite dirty, and after the bath I decided to take the car for a spin. Luckily I had my camera in the car Here are some teasers. You can see the rest of the images here:http://usmb.net/gallery/album306 They seem to ride alot nicer than the 185/70R13's that were on the car before. The car also seems alittle more stable at high speeds, but the front end is starting to float alittle. Might be time to get an alignment. -Brian
  11. Also, the MS system will only run fuel, you need to add something to control spark... since EJ's dont have disty's. Im going to be doing the same thing with my RX, but with a hopped up N/A EJ22. -Brian
  12. Well, its 11am and im still in sacramento. I dont think i'll be comming out today, i want to get my tires mounted and theres alot of stuff around the home I should get done. Maybe next week? And jeremy, why did you have your days changed? -Brian
  13. Gary, those look great I think for now, im going to keep them unpainted just to get them on the car. -Brian
  14. I know... i know brad I think im leaning more toward the 1st pic, or all of the rim black. -Brian
  15. Was doing alittle work in Photoshop, here are a couple idea's that came to mind. and -Brian
  16. ANd what better Subaru to modify but the RX There's a box i got from Rallyruss in the garage, and the hoodscoop idea im brewing will be some of the most anti-wrx style scoops there are So much for keeping her stock. The Suspension will be part Legacy & XT6 stuff.... so thats kinda stock... cause its subaru, right? The intercooler is from a Saab, so thats definatly not stock. -Brian
  17. IN theory with an older FWD/4WD gearbox, in FWD the only stubs that are spinning are the front, and the rest of the car would virtually be in neutral. So a clutch type winch would be sweet. But the front diff is open, so you'd have to deal with that somehow. -Brian
  18. Doesnt look good. I'll be calling jeremy and them in the AM to let them know. If i end up comming, i'll be giving you a call for sure Dave. Working on cars in the JY when its freezing cold doesnt sound like alot of fun. And the RX could use brakes and bearings, might stay home in a warm garage -Brian
  19. LOL, rims will go on tomorrow. Sorry all. Russ, i dont mind that the tires are smaller. The speedo already doesnt work right. 2 of the rims still have the black decals on the spokes, so i have to remove those before i paint the rims. I'll put them on the car as-is and then see how they look. Dave, I dont think i need to reply The RX wont be stock, it will be far from stock. -Brian
  20. I was going to paint them black before i got new tires. But it was a spur of the moment thing... had the rims in the back with miss-matched tires... and found a good deal on a new set of 195/50's. The tires are Wynstar's. Guess nothing to be proud of, but i like the tread pattern and the fact they are brand new. Have to be better than what I have now. And yes... there are pix -Brian
  21. I dont have a torque wrench Broke it while trying to torque my axle nuts a while ago. Now i just use my breaker bar and stand on it. I might not be able to go tomorrow... just got word that we lost an employee, and they might need me to come in tomorrow. And highway on highway 80 i can average 85mph while on hwy 50 i get stuck behind morons who cant seem to go faster than 45mph. Not to mention, i hate driving through lake tahoe. -Brian
  22. Test it good tonight. I'd hate to have it fail on the road hehe Jeremy, PM me with your cell #. I have Jibs but not yours.... Dave, you up for a PnP run? -Brian
  23. Dont need the locking lug, just the standard pug Lugs. Bring them with you tomrrow. Im thinking of just robbing the ones off of my Lifted Wagon for now. -Brian
  24. Got a set of 15" pugs that need to go onto the RX. But I dont have the lugs. I could wait until tomorrow and get a set from the junkyard, but I want to put my tires on my car now. I was thinking of going to Autozone or Kragen to get a set of lugs that will work. Has anyone purchased aftermarket lugs that are proven to work with the pugs on our Subaru threads? -Brian
