  1. Use gasoline. Gasoline wont freeze, it will just get very very cold -Brian
  2. Cooper Discoverer STT's. Those were the cheapest deal i could find. I ended up going to Coopers website where i found the tires, and looked up local dealers. I called a list of them until i found the best price. I got the 205/75R14's that measure 26.1". Perfect for my 3" lift and alloy rims. The shop that had them, had them sitting collecting dust. He sold 4 to me for $300 mounted. -Brian
  3. Here's a crazy idea... have you called the police? Put him in jail maybe? How about camera's to watch the grounds. -Brian
  4. Brake drag... bad bearings... even a tire thats worn out more than any others will cause it too. -Brian
  5. I felt the same way when my Brat was stolen. If my window had been broken out, i'd be searching for the guy right now. Questioning everyone on the block, and installing survielance camera's. Im still planning on installing my AMP and looking for some sub's. But hopefully whoever did this will remember my car and think "oh, already got that one" and move on. -Brian
  6. Damn, and I thought I had a problem with crack heads. The neigbors who had their truck stolen are certified crack heads (tried to sell crack to me and my roomates in the past). The wierd thing is, the truck they say was stolen... i havent seen in almost a week. So im not sure if its something they setup or what. Im not going to stress too much over it. I'll be talking to my roomates about moving tho. I found an apartment that has a larger garage im interested in. We'll see what happens. -Brian
  7. Ive experimented with that pin out cause i wanted to hook it up to a computer, and run MP3's. I found the left & right channel, but I couldnt find a way to mute the AM/FM stereo while playing through the ports. I would suggest going to the junkyard and finding a car with the tape deck. Then cut that plug off the cassette deck, and splice the wires. Play around with it until you find something that works -Brian
  8. You can weld it up if your in RWD mode. I'd weld it REAL good, cause that much power will snap a crap weld in no time. If I were you though, i'd work on finding a RX Tranny or a GL10 Tranny with Full Time 4WD. -Brian
  9. Oh yeah, it was the 1st thing I looked for when i found out the car had been broken into. Ive had 2 tool boxes stolen from my car's in the past. I hate having to replace tools cause you dont realize how valuable they are until you have to buy them, again. -Brian
  10. I grabbed a Volvo IC from the junkyard, and fitted it to the Legacy cause i wanted to use one on my turbo legacy. The thing was as large as the radiator on the legacy... ...good luck fitting it to a EA82. I suggest you use something like the Saab 900 IC. -Brian
  11. It didnt really hit me until my drive home from work, but the thought of some scum bag ripping into my dash and treating my car like a rag doll, that pisses me off more than missing my stereo. The stereo was a Kenwood CD player that came out of the Legacy. I'll be replacing it with a Sony CD Player that my friend is selling me for $20. They also made away with my CD Wallet, good thing i "Backed them up" in MP3 format -Brian
  12. Yeh, it sucks. At least there's no body damage or broken glass. They just got my stereo, but luckily they left all 3 tool boxes behind. Maybe cause they were in the back and i have the cargo cover extended. They also got into my Legacy, but there's really nothing in there for them to take. My AMP & Speakers are still in the legacy, but those were left behind. Whoever did it, stole my neigbors truck tho. Sucks, but i guess I Needed to re-wire my stereo anyways. -Brian
  13. ALready done rich Look at how old this thread is. Since then, ive had a Turbo EJ22 & now I have a Turbo EA82 in my RX -Brian
  14. You heard it i cant reply cause your inbox is full. -Brian
  15. For the family and trips, you might want to look into a EA82. Something in the Years of 85-87 would be good as they mostly came with 5spd and Dual Range 4WD. Thats FWD, 4WDHI & 4WD LOW. 80-84 models came with 4speed Dual ranges, but they dont have as much room. Plus there are alot more comforts available to the EA82 like power steering that will make for easy drives. The EA82 is alittle more high maitenance than the EA81, as it has timing belts. But regular oil changes and maitenance will keep the car on the road for hundreds of thousands of miles. Or offroad for that matter. -Brian
  16. Pretty much any 4WD subaru will do. But here are some things that will be very helpfull when your offroading: 5 speed manual is a must Dual Range 4WD Is a great help Fuel Injection will make trails alot easier And check your timing belts, ask questions about them. The worse thing that can happen is to lose a timing belt on a trail. -Brian
  17. Yes as a matter of fact. ive never rolled any of my Subaru's, but ive had them at much more extreme angles. Growing up in Alaska I drove my 1st subaru, a 78 DL Wagon, up the side of a snowbank. I swear i was close to 70-80 degree incline, a pure wall of snow & ice. Gave all my passengers the puckerfactor, but i just drove the car down off the incline. -Brian
  18. Not difficult at all... so long as you know what you are doing. -Brian
  19. HAHAHA, but maybe he's still having the same problem. I sure hope he's not, cause if he hasnt gotten the problem fixed by now, that probably means he blew one of his tires out or something. I don't think Jay could drive this long with that shaking. -Brian
  20. Nobody knows how much they will withstand. Seems anyone who tries to build one up to above 200hp, blow them up. So I'd say about 200hp is your limit. If you swaped parts and modified the heads you could probably reach 250hp. But by that time you would have spent more $$ than it'd take to swap a EJ20 or EJ22 over, and those engines are proven to take more than 400hp. -Brian
  21. It takes alot more than that to roll one. -Brian
  22. Just use a '87 XT as your search querey. Your parts store should be able to get rotors for them. Goto Napa, cause if they dont have it they'll order it for you, and they dont employ idiots at Napa like they do Kragen and Pep Boys. -Brian
  23. I'd suggest cutting the hassle and replacing it with coilover. If you repair the car with junkyard parts, you risk the chance of them failing again. You know 1st hand how reliable they are. Replacing it with new parts would cost more than a set of standard suspension. Ive never had pnumatic suspension, so i dont know what all the hype is about, but i know about all the headaches. -Brian
  24. How far from Rancho Cordova are you? Im sure there's a set there, and i'll be there Saturday morning. If you can make it when im there, you'll have someone to help pull the parts. 1/2 price weekend should be able to get you all the parts you need for under $100 -Brian
