  1. That could be almost anything. Flush your radiator and see if that helps. But you might want to just replace the radiator if you suspect it going bad. -Brian
  2. Check your bearings. If your castle nut was that loose, there was probably more strain on your bearings than usual. -Brian
  3. Just a brat?? How boring Where are the pix? I dont see them. -Brian
  4. At idle, your turbo wont be under much boost at all. Use a pressure guage and maybe a long hose to monitor boost while your driving. (or install a boost gauge if you can). With the car at idle, the wastegate will be open and you wont be producing much boost at all. I believe your most likely to make full boost in 2nd and 3rd gear. I dont think your car will make full boost in 1st gear (although, im probably mistaken). -Brian
  5. Yeah, they're located not far from me. Ive visited them a couple times, and the guys there are idiots. Dont know much about subaru's and if you ask me their prices are overpriced. If your lookin for parts, and these guys got it... wouldnt hurt to buy it. They're just a recycler. Just dont ask for part cross-refference or any subaru idea's. -Brian
  6. You can tell the turbine is spinning? But there's no boost? How do you know its spinning? -Brian
  7. Thats my rump roast Its the day I was buying the car, and thats just me checking to make sure everything is there and not beatup. I did angle the headlights downward, i think it compliments the grill (which is something im definatly going to try [on a spare grill]) Not sure if Im going to do the tinted windshield like that. Was just something to fill in some space on the windshield. I really dont like large decals up there or anything, but we do get alot of glare here in california so I'll probably lay a strip of tint up there. -Brian
  8. I was bored: Before: After: Thought i'd share. -Brian
  9. The rule of thumb is to never use it unless each tire has at least 10% slip. Like wet roads, gravel, ice, snow... anything but dry pavement. Making sharp turns will put more bind on the transmission. Driving in 4WD will use more gas, but probably not anything noticable unless you drive in 4WD for weeks at a time. It shouldnt put any extra wear on your rear diff, its an open diff and should never really bind up. -Brian
  10. One of my favorites. -Brian
  11. I like those front bumpers And looks like it has 1/3 of a RX body kit on it. -Brian
  12. Russ... you got those pix up yet? -Brian
  13. Sweet! Im glad you decided to post pictures of it. I didnt spend all that time helping just to remain quiet These pix make me wanna do some more off-roading.... now, if i could only find a brat of my own -Brian
  14. Oh... on a pushbutton 4WD Tranny. Im talking about a Dual Range FWD/4WD lever that would be comming out of the tranny, like the shifter. -Brian
  15. Thanks... I just learned today about the fuel cut, and im kinda upset over the whole ordeal. From what ive learned the stock RX makes 6.5psi and the ecu will cut it at 9psi (after about 10seconds). I'd like to get around that. -Brian
  16. M-I-C.... K-E-Y... M-O-U-S-E!!! Anyone care to explain what a SAFC is? How about a FCD?? -Brian
  17. Tex... get on AOL IM so we can talk -Brian
  18. The diff lock wont look anything like a FWD/4WD selector. And it will only have dual range if it came from a RX (doubt your wrecker has one just laying there... if so, SNATCH IT!) -Brian
  19. Well.... A part time 4WD tranny will have a 2WD/4WD selector whereas a FT4WD will not. -Brian
  20. I noticed those 2 vacuum relay's. But Im not sure if they're working or not. Anyway to test them? -Brian
  21. Im not sure if my Center Diff is locking or not. Even with the switch off, the light still comes on. But then the light turns off at speeds over 40mph. If I put the switch in the ON position, it doesnt turn the light on... and i dont hear anything engaging. Is there any sure-way of knowing wether or not the center diff is locked? -Brian
  22. Better not let your wife see that picture Jason, or your in trouble. Zap, very nice ride. Thats one of my dreamcars as well... but way above my price range. -Brian
  23. Ive been thinking of replacing the RX decals I've got. Mine are either blue... or faded black. Im thinking a nice crisp black would help the car stand out. -Brian
  24. Says who?? It was something i was thinking of doing. Searched the BYB board all last night for people who have done EJ20 swaps, but couldnt find anyone. Even tho i know there's a handful of people over there swapping EJ's into their RX's. I got the stereo in, wired it all just to find there were no speakers in the doors. Luckily i had some 5.5" 150watt 3 way speakers from my Wagon. They fit perfectly in the doors. I have a pair of 3way 8x6 that I need to put somewhere as well, and i think i'll find a small sub box for the rear as well. -Brian
