RX Wiper problems (very slow wipers)
Nice... MSN Message me and gimme a price. I think mines dead or dying cause now my intermittents are messing up. It will move the wiper about an inch then stop, and then another inch, then stop until the wipers are about 1/2 way, then they go and come back, then stop, another inch then stop, another inch then stop. I'm gonna get a relay from the junkyard and see if maybe that might be it. -Brian

RX Wiper problems (very slow wipers)
Well... found problem #1 with the new RX. My wiper's aren't working propperly. Instead of having OFF-INTERMITTENT-SLOW-FAST, I have OFF-OFF-SLOW-SLOW. And when i mean slow, i mean sllllloooooow. Of course, i had to find out durring the rainfall, but I'm not even sure where to start looking. Would the problem be in the switch? Im not sure what would make the motor move so slow... anyone have any suggestions? -Brian

Subaru #11
Woops Dave, thats in Berkley... its where the car was at. The SVX belongs to my friend Hardy. He drove me to pick it up -Brian

Subaru #11
The SS is beat up, and looks like crap. Nobody can argue the RX is one of the sexiest subaru's made. I also have a few friends interested in the SS parts. The EJ22T will be going to a friend who will be converting his 91 L Sedan to EJ22T. And the 5spd will be going to a turbo wagon owner I know of. This RX hardly needs any work at all. The SS on the otherhand needs new steering, suspension. Not to mention all the window seals on the SS leak as well making for a very noisy ride. The RX will also help keep me out of trouble... since it doesnt go nearly as fast -Brian

Subaru #11
Russ ripped out the A/C. I know i'll be regretting that when summer comes back. The inside is real good too, just 2 tears on the drivers seat. There's no stereo, so right now im in the process of installing the Kenwood from my legacy. But i find myself fabricating a dash plate, and so far its still not deep enough to fit the standard DIN stereo Ed... those rims would look great on my car, but i cant afford them. I have a set of 15" pug alloys lined up that will be going on the car, but that probably wont be for a few weeks after i get a paycheck or two. -Brian

Subaru #11
Yup... add another notch to the headpost, here's the 11th Subaru for me not the SVX, the RX This is actually RallyRuss's old RX. I bought it from his cousin today. Its a great little car, runs like a top and is 99.9% straight. Just a few minor dings, no rust or real scratch's. It will be replacing my Legacy as my daily driver and so far no real mods planned out. I will be replacing the rims asap, and I have a lead on a small I/C for it as well. Im impressed with the handling, but it seems to be slow. That comming from my EJ22T though, so its what I expected. The speedo is alittle off, and the diff light keeps flickering, but other than that everything is operational. You can also hear the turbo alot more than on my legacy, but that might be cause the exhaust isn't near as loud. You can view more pix here: http://www.thawa.net/gallery/brians-rx -Brian

big white smoke plumes!?
Check your carb gaskets shannon. The Hitachi has a section that attatches to the manifold where coolant runs from the manifold to the carb. The weber has no such port, so you need to make sure its blocked off good or else coolant will leak into the intake, it would cause the problem you describe. -Brian

Help installing WRX TMIC - what do I need to buy? (lot of PICS)
He's right, thats your wiper motor. You wont be able to remove it for good, but you might be able to replace it with a different motor thats either smaller, or has the motor on the otherside. -Brian

TDO4 update and bigger pugs

TDO4 update and bigger pugs
Russ... can you get me some pix of your rims? I wanna photoshop them onto the RX to see if I should paint my Pug's black or not. -Brian

Rear E-Brake donor found. (U.S. model)
The difference is, your alot less likely to pull the e-brake durring travel if the front tires are going to lock. Subaru knows how much fun it is to e-brake and power slide, and thats bad if the car is in motion. Since the fronts lock, its no fun at all (and very dangerous) so chances are people wont be pulling the ebrake while its driving. -Brian

83 turbo brake upgrade
The caliper bracket is a part of the steering knuckle, and they should be the same. SHouldnt need to swap the knuckle. -Brian

83 turbo brake upgrade
IN 1984 Everything got vented fronts. You can swap vented front rotors from EA81's only, not EA82's. You'll need the rotor (of course) and the caliper. The Caliper should bolt to the existing knuckle. -Brian

Lake Tahoe Snow Run.
BRRRRR here too... in sacramento there was a overnight freeze warning in effect. -Brian

Rear E-Brake donor found. (U.S. model)
I'll have to hit the yard. I know theres rows of Z's and SX's there. Ken is right, rear ebrake on a locked center diff (or no center diff, 4WD) would be bad news. But RX's shouldnt worry much about this problem. -Brian

clunk.....clunk....sound after lift install of steering
GLad to hear it was something simple The BFH is your best friend when a lift install is done. That, and a pnumatic toolset -Brian

makes you wonder.....
Here's another lifted wagon I saw here in town. I believe the owner is a USMB member as well, who had questions on stuffing a EJ20T into a 78 Wagon a LOOONG time ago: This is just a body on a toyo frame I think. -Brian

Whadaya think of my first Soob? (finaly a pic)
Thats a nice looking Brat, very cherry indeed. I believe Subaru stopped putting 1600's in the Brat in 1984. -Brian

clunk.....clunk....sound after lift install of steering
Mike, you would know if it was rubbing if you couldnt steer. The problem I had was steering from lock to lock. The struts would catch on that hump, and would keep the strut from rotating. Resulting in a loud "THUD" once it did get past the hump. Not sure if this is what Monstaru is having, but it might be the source of his problem. -Brian

makes you wonder.....
That wagon makes me think of another Lifted wagon ive seen. Maybe alittle more extreme -Brian
