  1. Welcome to the board. Im not far from San Fran, up here in Sacramento. We've got a good Legacy following up here and often hold small meets in the bay area. Could definatly use some newer legacy's there so i'll keep you up to date with the next gathering -Brian
  2. Ive had no problem re-using them. Along with the castle-nut and the cone washers as well. Seems the CV's I get only come with the axle. Only a few have come with the castle nut and almost none have come with new spring pins. Your old one should be fine, as long as its not bent or crushed. -Brian
  3. You oughta lower the front alittle more. -Brian
  4. Looks like you got a good deal and a sweet ride. Sucks to hear about the hardships youve been through. If you need a hard drive for your computer... send me a PM and I can have one sent to you. It wont be big, but it will be enough to get your computer up and running again. -Brian
  5. Just search every fuse in your fuse box and see if any of them have blown. I had that problem once except they quit on me durring a drive at night... and freaked me out. I found that it was in fact one of my fuses that had blown. -Brian
  6. http://phpwebsite.appstate.edu/ Check that out Eric. Might be alittle over your head but what it is, is a Content Management System for webpages. Lets you activly edit, add and remove data from your webpage all via the web. You setup user's like you would with the message board, or the gallery etc... and then those users have access to changing the information your webpage has. I sent a link to Tex. Im going to be installing it on USMB.net to test it, and might end up using it myself. They have a live demo on their page that you can play with. It looks pretty versitile, oh and did i mention it was free? -Brian
  7. I have 700MB of space that is unused becuase we switched the USMB Gallery to this new platform. If you guys need space, let me know and you gotit. I agree with Tex, the Gallery software is the only way to host multiple images and keep them organized in a easy to view way. If you look at www.subaru4wd.net now, you'll notice most of the links point to gallery folders cause i got too lazy and 98% of my page is mostly pix anyhow. Jared has a great page put together with trails and ratings. It takes alot of mantime to upkeep a page like that though and I agree with Eric on revieling the secret fishin holes. Although you guys got a TON of great pictures and footage that needs to be seen Also, the hatchpatrol page will probably boost your Video sales about 300% Eric -Brian
  8. If you'd like, i can help setup a gallery like i have on USMB.net. Subarutex uses the same gallery software so he could probably do it as well. As far as actual web design, i dont think i'll have time to help with anything like that. I can help come up with graphic logos and edit images if you'd like. Email me Eric if you need further assistance or to swap idea's. -Brian
  9. Thats some great footage and great photos!! Looks like a ton of fun. -Brian
  10. The lift acts like a body lift in ways. You unbolt the struts from the top. You unbolt the engine crossmember and you extend the steering linkage. In the rear you drop the diff hanger and you drop the torsion bar, then you add extensions for the rear shocks. The CVs retain the propper angle if done correctly. The engine is dropped 3" along with the Tranny. If you lift the car more than 3-4" then you need to think of shift linkages and extend brake lines etc. I believe the EA82's even have a tranny crossmember that is dropped as well. -Brian
  11. I have video of Soobme's turbo EA82 off-road with me http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo73 -Brian
  12. Doesnt matter if my engine is warm or cold. Its a EJ22T for anyone who doesnt know. -Brian
  13. Yesterday morning i woke up, and drove my car home from a friends house. Its a 30mile drive, and the car drove great. No problems. Mind you, it was raining and its one of our 1st rainfalls here in California. I get home and park it, then I go out later in the afternoon to head to my parents house. As soon as I pull out of the driveway and head down the street I feel the car bucking and backfire, so i lay off the gas and it goes back to normal. No stalling. So I drive off, and feather the throttle. Im able to drive the car just fine, as long as Im feathering the throttle. If i give it too much gas it cuts out and bucks, backfires and doesnt want to drive. Seems to only do it if the engine is under load, or hard acceleration. At a stand still I can rev the engine to 6k no problem. If Im in gear and lightly accelerate it will go to 6k no problem, but heaven forbid if I want to actaully get up and go... any hard acceleration and the car just cuts out on me. I spoke with Ryan and he suggested my fuel filter. Once i thought about it, it made sence so I bought a new filter. The car drove better for about 1/4 mile on its test drive, but the problem came back. As soon as I got home I swapped the Diamond coilpack for the stock one to see if it was the coilpack. On that test drive the car was able to accelerate from 1st to 2nd to 3rd no problem... but as soon as I shifted to 4th the problem re-appeared and now its back no matter what. Im kinda stumped. Hardy and Scott say to check the plugs (i havent yet) but they're new, no more than 2000miles. I find it odd that this problem would appear out of the blue, and wonder if maybe its related to the weather. Anyone have anything like this happen before? -Brian
  14. Wow!! SCORE!! Why would someone just let all those subies get covered in weeds like that? Makes me wonder how many more undescovered goldmines there are out there? -Brian
  15. None of the images are showing for me. -Brian
  16. Definatly.... neither of these forums will see enough traffic to grant them their own space. Maybe we should have a EA81 and EA82 forum... or how about a 2WD and 4WD forum. hell, why dont we just create a forum for EVERY horrizontally opposed engine class there is. -Brian
  17. What is the difference between this and the conversion forum? Do we need 2 forums for this??? Cant it be accomplished by one? Or how about sub forums? I really dont like having this many forums, i cant even keep up with the ones we have already. -Brian
  18. I took one out of a Volvo at the junkyard and walked to the subaru lineup. The I/C WAS the same size of a Legacy radiator, and it looked like alot of fabrication and fancy hose-work would be needed to get it to work right. Your probably better off with something alot smaller, like a Saab or Starion I/C. -Brian
  19. I had a picture of the setup Rick, but i cant find it anywhere. If MikeW still reads the USMB im sure he'll post here and supply a picture. If I can find the pic I have i'll definatly post it. -Brian
  20. Yeah. MikeW has done this with his Hatchback. Its a very simple mod since the front e-brake handle has the 2 cables leading right to the handle itself. He just mounted a 2nd handle and uses one for each cable and is able to lock either front tire. When I drove with him last, he just had it installed and was having trouble juggling the clutch, gas, gears & ebrake while steering through the obsticals. A while ago I brought the topic back up cause it was something I was intersted in doing to my Wagon. Skip came up with some brilliant ideas on using large servo's to operate the braking mechanism and having it enabled at the push of a button... for either right or left tires. His idea's made it sound easier to operate the front ebrake while keeping the majority of your attention on the trail. I dont think anything ever came of it tho -Brian
  21. I bought a 1992 Legacy with a salvaged title. The car had previously been reinspected by the state of CA and found to be drivable so the title wanst a problem anylonger. From the sounds of it, that wasnt the case here. Good call on dodging the bullet. -Brian
  22. Yeah, and dont forget to break in the engine before you really romp on it 13k is a BABY! I wouldnt feel comfortable driving any subaru with less than 100k on the ticker. -Brian
  23. You'll be fine. You might wanna get it replaced if your worried... since your current pump is as old as that car. And I saw that car, it might be time for a new pump. Do some research on the Weber DGEV and see what kinda pump weber would recommend. I think there are some members here who have upgraded their EA81 pumps to accomidate their carbs. -Brian
  24. Nope, but I also didnt forget that Legacy Turbo's have larger front brakes that keeps you from using 14" legacy rims. You must have 15" or larger to clear the calipers. So PK will have some shopping to do when it comes to tires. -Brian
