  1. Pop the pins out of the outer joint, and then unbolt the diff and let it drop. It should take the CV's with it. You dont need to worry about running with no CV's cause the rear end has axle shafts that run through the bearing, and attach to the hub. The CV just attatches to the shaft. As soon as you get the 1st one out, you'll understand how easy it is. I would also recommend removing the torsion bar and bump it up another notch. -Brian
  2. Noon at the latest. With the turbo at full boost expect me at 11:30 -Brian
  3. I was thinking that Mike Actually thought about PM'n Tony to give him some idea's. Jason, are you talking about NFS SE? -Brian
  4. Oh, i got the rear too... it could have been FAR worse. Expecially the area we were in. If it werent for the guard rail, my car would be totalled, and i'd be in worse condition than i am. From what i hear, the swap is pretty straight forward for any 90-94 Subaru. a 96 will have the OBD2 and will give you more hassle. Gary, make me an offer I cant refuse, and she's yours. I just spent $1200 to have a centerforce clutch installed 4 months ago when i bought the car.... so if anyone takes it from me, i at least want my $1200 back. Its probably not worth it anymore, which is why Im looking for a Wagon. -Brian
  5. Yup, just cant keep the subaru's from hittin things. This was done yesterday on a road trip with a couple of the LegacyCentral.org guys. We took highway 128 from Fairfield to Vaccaville, and its a great road with windy S curves up and down the rolling hillside. I aproached a turn too fast, and as soon as the understeer set in, i locked all 4 and slid into the guardrail. Luckily there was a guardrail, cause the tree's sure wouldnt have been so kind. Damage to front and rear is apparent, doesnt cause any drivability problems, but definatly makes the car even more Uglier than it was before. Now im looking for a LS/LSi wagon to do a EJ22T swap -Brian
  6. Well, the Sport Sedan is slowly dying. The body is getting worse and worse. The engine and tranny are still in great working condition so I wanna find a shell for a transplant. My ideal Subaru is a '90 or '91 LSi Wagon, in dark Grey. Im sure most everything is straight forward, but im concerned with the wiring involved. I heard that the EJ22T is almost a direct bolt in for anything pre-94 with OBD1... but just how "bolt in" is it? I will have the entire Legacy Sedan with EJ22T to use for parts, and I assume the only major changes are the crossmember, ECU and of course engine/tranny. Is there anything else I should prepare for durring the swap. What if the Wagon i find is an Auto?? Would it care if i put a 5spd in? -Brian
  7. I dont want your LSD, i can find my own. They always turn up in the junkyards here. Ive seen a couple 91 Turbo's, but all have been missing rearends. Im sure one day I'll stumble upon one. Also, Im sure the standard LSD would work from a EA82 RX, just need to change the gearing to match your Legacy Tranny. -Brian
  8. Good luck finding one, and when you do better make sure your wallet can handle it. Expect to pay in the $300 range. Also, if I find one.. the last thing Im doing is shipping it off... it'd go in my Legacy ) -Brian
  9. This has always been one of my favorites: From the other view: -Brian
  10. Ah... fish I miss fishing..... But yeah, hit up a junkyard. In anchorage there arent many though, not that you can just wander into. Check the marketplace as well, maybe you can find somebody that has a parts car and can sell you the entire assmebly cheap. Shipping might suck, but far better than a new setup, or the cost of labor and parts at any shop. -Brian P.S. WHATEVER YOU DO!! Do not goto AAA-1 Subaru.
  11. Search the internet for Aviation webpages. There are plenty of modified EA81's available for use as small aircraft engines. They fabricate everything from cranks to complete custom MPFI head's/intake. A few that come to mind are Ram Engines and Sub4 heads. The sub4 heads are outrageous tho. -Brian
  12. I have my suspension adjusted all the way down cause camber is my primary pet peeve. But the 3" lift blocks fix any travel problems I might have I wouldnt recommend having your front suspension adjusted all the way. It does add more stress to the axles and more camber issues. Its really not worth it for an extra 1" of clearance. However, the rear end can be lifted without any problems at all. -Brian
  13. He's right Steve. Our California sun will turn krylon into Corn Flakes in a year or two. A proffesional clearcoat will keep that paint looking great for a while. Otherwise, its looking real good. -Brian
  14. Uhm... i think you take Church Road all the way to the end. I believe it T's into Fishhook Road, or something like that. Take a left at the T, and travel a few mile's. Its out that way. I believe its called Wasilla Auto Salvage or something. The guy there let me and my friend roam back there a couple times. We counted 7 brat's. All of them were too far gone to be repaired, or salvaged. He had a few EA81 wagons, sedans and hatchs. Not many EA82s or any legacy's. This was all 3-4 years ago, so alot could have changed. I think he's listed in the Wasilla business directory, so it shouldnt be hard to locate. Search for Auto Salvage. -Brian
  15. Ive been screwed by AAA-1 as well. I try to tell everyone I know to stay far far away from them. Parts are hard to come by. I do know of 1 junkyard in Wasilla, but not any in Anchorage. Although I havent lived there in 3 years, so things might have changed. -Brian
  16. Definatly. What went kaput on the other computer?? Mac's arent that bad, should be fine for USMB stuff. -Brian
  17. I do not believe they will fit. Any other 4WD Subaru's should though. I find its easier to convert to the 4WD Rear disk brakes if you can find the parts. -Brian
  18. That rack looks real good, and very sturdy. It looks pretty short, and you may not want to attatch lights directly to it. You might want to fabricate a light bar that you can adjust, that way your lights aren't restricted to the rack. Definatly a job well done! -Brian
  19. Actually.... since I created that dead Banana .gif, i think it is I who have 0wn3d your banana's. Nice BoV, but why would anyone pay $300 just to expose boost to the atmosphere?? -Brian
  20. Yeah he is. I met him at the WCSS and he's a stand up guy. Sean, good to see you online again. -Brian
  21. Thats always the most important! Sounds like your having fun -Brian
  22. Bright Yellow gets my vote. You should paint it like a bumble bee -Brian
  23. TONY!!! Good to see you back buddy!! You missed one hell of a show, we all missed you but there's always next year (and even plenty of time before that). Got any super sweet projects underway? -Brian
  24. Those pix arent working. But i'd love to see some pix of this motor you found. Your probably the only person out there that has one, or aleast who knows about the USMB and has one Finding parts are going to be hard, and lets hope both of those heads are still in real good condition cause im sure it'll be hard to replace one. Great find tho. -Brian
