  1. What is the difference between this and the conversion forum? Do we need 2 forums for this??? Cant it be accomplished by one? Or how about sub forums? I really dont like having this many forums, i cant even keep up with the ones we have already. -Brian
  2. I took one out of a Volvo at the junkyard and walked to the subaru lineup. The I/C WAS the same size of a Legacy radiator, and it looked like alot of fabrication and fancy hose-work would be needed to get it to work right. Your probably better off with something alot smaller, like a Saab or Starion I/C. -Brian
  3. I had a picture of the setup Rick, but i cant find it anywhere. If MikeW still reads the USMB im sure he'll post here and supply a picture. If I can find the pic I have i'll definatly post it. -Brian
  4. Yeah. MikeW has done this with his Hatchback. Its a very simple mod since the front e-brake handle has the 2 cables leading right to the handle itself. He just mounted a 2nd handle and uses one for each cable and is able to lock either front tire. When I drove with him last, he just had it installed and was having trouble juggling the clutch, gas, gears & ebrake while steering through the obsticals. A while ago I brought the topic back up cause it was something I was intersted in doing to my Wagon. Skip came up with some brilliant ideas on using large servo's to operate the braking mechanism and having it enabled at the push of a button... for either right or left tires. His idea's made it sound easier to operate the front ebrake while keeping the majority of your attention on the trail. I dont think anything ever came of it tho -Brian
  5. I bought a 1992 Legacy with a salvaged title. The car had previously been reinspected by the state of CA and found to be drivable so the title wanst a problem anylonger. From the sounds of it, that wasnt the case here. Good call on dodging the bullet. -Brian
  6. Yeah, and dont forget to break in the engine before you really romp on it 13k is a BABY! I wouldnt feel comfortable driving any subaru with less than 100k on the ticker. -Brian
  7. You'll be fine. You might wanna get it replaced if your worried... since your current pump is as old as that car. And I saw that car, it might be time for a new pump. Do some research on the Weber DGEV and see what kinda pump weber would recommend. I think there are some members here who have upgraded their EA81 pumps to accomidate their carbs. -Brian
  8. Nope, but I also didnt forget that Legacy Turbo's have larger front brakes that keeps you from using 14" legacy rims. You must have 15" or larger to clear the calipers. So PK will have some shopping to do when it comes to tires. -Brian
  9. Yeah, 2" will be plenty. My tires measure 26.1" They wouldnt work on the legacy since they're for 14" rims, but you might be able to find a nice, small tire for 15" rims to suit your needs. I hope you feel comfortable with cutting out the fenders too I understand if you dont want to use mine. It needs new suspension and steering anyway. Oh, and a fender now too. White legacy's look better dirty anyway. -Brian
  10. You shouldnt lift and beatup something that beautiful. Come get my ugly '92 and i'll let you trade me straight across -Brian
  11. Yeah, figured that out after I re-read your thread. My USMB gallery is still up. And people who had an account still do. Its always best to goto your album, and login from there. -Brian
  12. It could be a 1989 Legacy. Although rare, not unavailable. -Brian
  13. Caleb, is that problem with the USMB Gallery? Or my gallery? My gallery at USMB.net has a couple bugs, but should let you upload. I was going to upgrade its software, but it doesnt seem like it gets used that often. -Brian
  14. Not cool, but still not illegal. I woulda came over that second when he said "sold" and got it. Wasnt there someone else who was told they'd get a car... went to get it the next day to find it already gone? May this be a lesson learned. Oh, and your not the only one its happen to. Ive been burned a couple times as well, just shrug it off. -Brian
  15. I know what you mean. I did my lift by myself in a weekend as well. I even think it was Raining outside too. I was able to get the front done in one day, and the rear in the 2nd day. The best advise I can give is to be patient. And dont force anything that doesnt look right, you'll only kick yourself later for it. I used threadlock on the bolts for my lift, and have been runing for 2 years without a single problem. Ive checked each bolt after every 2nd or 3rd run, and none have ever come loose. That will only be a concern when I goto remove the lift. And your right, the front end does look good -Brian
  16. These will make your wagon look HOT Cant wait to see pix. You should go mount those rims just to get some prelim shots for us all. And please, guys, can we try to stay away from Ricer jokes this time? -Brian
  17. They're passing lamps. They operate only with the high beams on. Offered from 1980-1982 in GL's. -Birna
  18. Could only imagine him being swamped. Im sure he'll get this though. -Brian
  19. I wanna say his name is Tim. But I dont think im right. Maybe it was Greg or something. I too remmeber him, he was the 1st to have a BYB lift sent from Aus. He beat it up pretty bad and sold it from what I can remember. -Brian
  20. Dual batteries would be a good idea. Maybe relocate them inside the car. I'd also find a wagon and setup a storage system in the back and make sure its loaded with emergency gear. -Brian
  21. Im still waiting for a bumper I paid for back in January. -Brian
  22. Was that your RX we have pix of??? with the Automatic tranny? If so, welcome to the board. Dont let any one of these guys get you down, they envy you... you own a RX But... yeah... the wing is alittle too much. -Brian
