  1. Yeah, 2" will be plenty. My tires measure 26.1" They wouldnt work on the legacy since they're for 14" rims, but you might be able to find a nice, small tire for 15" rims to suit your needs. I hope you feel comfortable with cutting out the fenders too I understand if you dont want to use mine. It needs new suspension and steering anyway. Oh, and a fender now too. White legacy's look better dirty anyway. -Brian
  2. You shouldnt lift and beatup something that beautiful. Come get my ugly '92 and i'll let you trade me straight across -Brian
  3. Yeah, figured that out after I re-read your thread. My USMB gallery is still up. And people who had an account still do. Its always best to goto your album, and login from there. -Brian
  4. It could be a 1989 Legacy. Although rare, not unavailable. -Brian
  5. Caleb, is that problem with the USMB Gallery? Or my gallery? My gallery at USMB.net has a couple bugs, but should let you upload. I was going to upgrade its software, but it doesnt seem like it gets used that often. -Brian
  6. I'll reset it and PM you. -Brian
  7. Not cool, but still not illegal. I woulda came over that second when he said "sold" and got it. Wasnt there someone else who was told they'd get a car... went to get it the next day to find it already gone? May this be a lesson learned. Oh, and your not the only one its happen to. Ive been burned a couple times as well, just shrug it off. -Brian
  8. I know what you mean. I did my lift by myself in a weekend as well. I even think it was Raining outside too. I was able to get the front done in one day, and the rear in the 2nd day. The best advise I can give is to be patient. And dont force anything that doesnt look right, you'll only kick yourself later for it. I used threadlock on the bolts for my lift, and have been runing for 2 years without a single problem. Ive checked each bolt after every 2nd or 3rd run, and none have ever come loose. That will only be a concern when I goto remove the lift. And your right, the front end does look good -Brian
  9. These will make your wagon look HOT Cant wait to see pix. You should go mount those rims just to get some prelim shots for us all. And please, guys, can we try to stay away from Ricer jokes this time? -Brian
  10. They're passing lamps. They operate only with the high beams on. Offered from 1980-1982 in GL's. -Birna
  11. Could only imagine him being swamped. Im sure he'll get this though. -Brian
  12. I wanna say his name is Tim. But I dont think im right. Maybe it was Greg or something. I too remmeber him, he was the 1st to have a BYB lift sent from Aus. He beat it up pretty bad and sold it from what I can remember. -Brian
  13. Dual batteries would be a good idea. Maybe relocate them inside the car. I'd also find a wagon and setup a storage system in the back and make sure its loaded with emergency gear. -Brian
  14. Im still waiting for a bumper I paid for back in January. -Brian
  15. California huh? Is that were perris is? -Brian
  16. Was that your RX we have pix of??? with the Automatic tranny? If so, welcome to the board. Dont let any one of these guys get you down, they envy you... you own a RX But... yeah... the wing is alittle too much. -Brian
  17. Ive never driven with Eric (except for a test drive in his Impreza once) but I've wheeled with him a couple times and he'll show you the time of your life. -Brian
  18. Im interested in seeing this ad I had a Penthouse collection that included every mag from years 1986-1992 but none of them had Subaru Ad's. My Nat. Geographic Magazine has ad's from years 1984 and some others in 1990-1992. -Brian
  19. This has to be a joke of some kind. -Brian
  20. Not really the axles themselfs that are the weak point, its the cups at either end, and the inners that go 1st. Then the Diff stub's... the axle shaft itself seems to hold up to almost anything. -Brian
  21. What about the EA81 in place of the EA71? -Brian
  22. Your '79 will need the crossmember from a '81 with a EA81 from the factory. The EA81 and the tranny will bolt together, and bolt in... but you may need to modify your crossmember, unless you can locate a '81 Brat Crossmember. And it has to be a '81 Brat, I dont think '80 Brats came with EA81's. From what I understand, the crossmember is the only thing you need to worry about. -Brian
  23. Thought you bought a turbo wagon, maybe it was someone else. Your allowed to comment. But it seems each and every post i see from you, is questioning the integrity of our subaru's, our work, our designs. I understand your offering advice and constructive critisism, and its welcome here... but dont expect each and everyone one of us to take it lightly. -Brian P.S. Emoticons do a great job of portraying your mood... like sarcasm, anger or happiness
  24. It'll be difficult to figure the exact model year of the engine without the car. Alot of EA81s are identical, but have different features depending on the location they were sold. CA, High Altitude, low altitude. Plus 1980-1983 are mostly solid lifters, whereas 1984-1986 are Hydro Lifters. 1980-1983 EA81's with AT's also had Hydro lifters, so thats another thing to keep in mind. If you got the engine as a spare, it should bolt into any EA81 subaru from 1980-1986 however, without any difficulties or major trouble. -Brian
