  1. Oh... well yeah, Dave emailed me and told me he'd be ready at 10am this morning. I knew you'd be up for it Dave Sorry we missed out, how's the weather up there anyhow? -Brian
  2. Ok... well that didnt work out. Jared is still in Eugene. Nobody else showed any interest. Here it is, noon... and i find myself wasting another day off... infront of the computer. With a 1/2 working USMB -Brian
  3. If there's something you want, and you dont see... feel free to write an article and submit it. For the time being, goto the library and do your own research. :madder: :madder: :madder: -Brian
  4. Yup, donner ski ranch at 10am. So far its just me and you Dave... and hopefully Jared will still make it. -Brian
  5. Got a dremel? Thats what i used on my fenders to get the edge out of them. THat wagon is looking great! Go get it muddy -Brian
  6. No offence to those who live in Tahoe, but South Lake Tahoe is full of a BUNCH OF IDIOTS! Most of them are californian's who have never been in the snow before, and they get affraid and drive 30mph. Anyhow... Who all is going? -Brian
  7. Now that we have a larger group populating, we need to have a larger get together. Maybe if Shannon ever brings his car out of the garage Anyhow... so, is it just me and Jared on tuesday?? -Brian
  8. Its a PITA on our subaru's. The easiest way to replace a pump would be to remove the radiator to give you more access. Sucks when its -7 outside. -Brian
  9. Woohoo... i love it when its the small things. Grats. -Brian
  10. Shannon, i got your video I re-recorded it, it has a 1hr special that recaps the entire year, then it starts with Australia and goes until the end of the season. Boarding will have to be Tuesday, its the only day Jared will have. I have 2 from work that are going as well. Not subaru guys, but still cool nonetheless. We're going to Donner Ski ranch. $10 for a ticket, $40 to rent gear... should be dead on Tuesday. I-80 got DUUUUUMMMMPED on last night. Another 18" in the summit. They closed both freeways, 80 and 50 last night due to the snow. Snow chains required, but usually 1 simple look at a Subaru with a lift, and they change their minds. -Brian
  11. Did they get Justy's in Australia? if not, they might not be of any help at all. If you need a place to put pictures, contact me and i can set you up with a login for the Image Gallery. -Brian
  12. Got a call from jared today. His car wasnt ready when he arived in Eugene, and its still not ready. He's in Washington right now, but the plans for stopping in Sac are alittle shakey right now. Pay attention to this post if you want to go. -Brian
  13. Nope, it wasnt the fuel pump. I fixed the problem, and im 99% sure it was the carburator. I pulled the air filter box off the car, and started it up. It ran like crap, and wouldnt hardly idle. I sprayed some carb cleaner around the carb, and sure enough the idle picked up and smoothed out, but not for long. I thought maybe alittle cleaner had made its way into the carb itself, and maybe that was what was keeping it from idling. I replaced the other fuel filter and I grabbed a piece of cardboard, and revved the engine, and stuffed the cardboard over the carb... choking it to death. I did this numerous times. Every other time i would spray some carb cleaner in the carb... let it pick up idle, then rev... and repeat. Then i dumped a bunch of MMO down the carb. It was still running like crap and refused to idle. Then i looked at the air filter box, and noticed one of the hoses hanging from it, was broken off. So, i found the other end of the hose... attatched to the intake manifold. Pulled that, plugged it, and VWALLA!! It idled. Then i did the choking trick a few more times. So... it was runing great. I sprayed around the carb with Liquid Wrench to loosen everything up and make sure things werent sticking. I didnt have an air cleaner, so i used a disposable face mask, and put that over the carb opening inside the air filter box... put the cover on, shut the hood and tried to take it for a test drive. I was amazed that I was able to accelerate without the 2ndary getting stuck open, so i floored it. Then it stuttered and died. And wouldnt start. I was able to turn the car around, and drive it into my driveway... all on the starter and a 1/2 running car. The car absolutly refused to start. At this point, i was furious. The car was just running great in the garage, and now it refuses to start???? So i popped the hood, took the air filter cap off... and there it was The Mask had gotten sucked into the carb. Well, not ALL the way into the carb, but enough where it was restricting airflow. I robbed the filter from my Brat, put it in the Wagon, and started right up! Revved a few times, shut the hood and returned to my victory lap. The car ran GREAT! I was able to accelerate through all gears, without any stutter or mis-fire. Got it on the main road and had it cruising at 50, without skipping a beat. God its great to have my wagon back -Brian
  14. Thats great... we're all proud for you. -Brian
  15. Miles... if your serious about this board thing, and your page... which it seems you are, then you might consider paying for your own webserver. The one im using right now gives me 700mb, 35GB of bandwidth, a few email addresses... but best of all, it comes pre-setup with PHPBB which is a very good bulleting board system. Very versitile and easy to configure and run. I believe i only pay $7.50 a month for the server and $12 a year for the domain name usmb.net -Brian
  16. Yeah it works great. ive done the trick many times before. Again, im sure i just worked some dirt loose. I think im going to remove the carb and do a more thourough half assed job -Brian
  17. I like the idea of the extra fund going to help the board. $3 is no difference to me, but $3x50 is a big difference toward the board. Sign me up for one. And get the 2005 ones ready as well -Brian
  18. Yeah, ive been talking with Toni about the design of the bumper. I would preffer tube frame, but square might be stronger and look better. Hopefully he has those pumps he was using before, and maybe i can get my onboard air and bumpers at the same time. Regardless, i need to drive up there to pick it all up... so that will give me an oportunity to meet the new crew up north -Brian
  19. Dude, your car looks great. Could use alittle more lift. Hopefully we get to meet up and maybe do some wheeling when i come up there. -Brian
  20. I dont think it will Miles, but do me a favor and try... then tell us if it works. -Brian
  21. yeah, the donor car had a straight hood, but the hood had a couple rust spots. So i skipped the hood. Im thinking of finding a perfect white hood, and then painting something on it. -Brian
  22. I think it would be a good idea to have a alter-ego, darker side of the USMB. You dont need to register to post, but you do need to register to create a signature. -Brian
