  1. I grew up in Alaska. I wouldnt recommend moving there if you've never been there before. I would say visit for a few weeks, then make the desicion. As far as subaru's, there is no other state that has as many subaru's per person than Alaska. But all the old ones are rusted out. The cost of living is higher, and job opportunities are slim. If you want to work on a fishing boat, or in a oil field, then your in luck. -brian
  2. What impressed me was the fact I could keep up with NV Zeno the entire way home. Without a speedo, i have no idea how fast we had that lil 1600 going. -Brian
  3. Yeah, thats decided I'll never get rid of my lifted wagon. The hardest part about restoring it is getting it past California emissions. The exhaust is shot, and the PVC valve must be bad too, cuase it has a hard time keeping the oil inside the crankcase. -Brian
  4. Arived back at home around 6:30pm today with the new project. She's a 1978 DL Wagon, but almost fully loaded. Small problems consist of non operational Speedo, Blower motor (or heat for that matter). No FWD, driving in 4WD on the rear diff right now. Pictures can be seen here: http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo14 Its got a fair amount of rust, but nothing that can't be removed. Not sure if I want to restore it or just get it registered and use it as the new daily driver. -Brian
  5. Yeah, Muir did publish the HTKYSA book. Sais so in that highlighted passage -Brian
  6. I like the hatch idea... not sure about the font tho. -Brian
  7. Ive heard that story from 2 other people. From what i hear, it was a blast. I do remember the trailer bearing. That was ugly. -Brian
  8. yeah, he's the only one i can think of at the moment. Havent seen him in a while tho. -Brian
  9. I just put in for vacation on Feb 28th, 29th, March 1st and 2nd. Hope its good for everyone else. -Brian
  10. Yeah, i can wait that long. We can plan it for the 27th and 28th if thats the best for everyone. -Brian
  11. Ok, i cant get the weeked of the 14th off. the 14th is blocked and the 16th is blocked. Meaning i wont be able to have a Monday off. I can make it on the weekend of the 7th-8th... but i thought i remembered someone saying that weekend wasnt good for them. Who here is up for a trail run on the weekend of the 7th-8th? -Brian
  12. last time i had to get an alternator from the yard, i picked up two good alts. Then walked up to the counter and found out it was 1/2 price weekend. Ended up getting both alts for $17. -Brian
  13. Sweet... takes care of that. Only thing left is to secure the time off and get the money for gas. -Brian
  14. If anybody here has equipment on their rig that was made by Soobme (Tony Bowers) please reply here with a testimonial. I would like to use them for the webpage im putting together for him. If you have a picture of your car with the equipment on it, please attatch the image to the post. I would love to use that as well. I myself have a TWB Soobfari Roof Rack, and I absolutly love it. I could grab ahold of it and flip my car if i wanted to, and Im not affraid to pile a few hundred pounds ontop of it. The fabrication and quality of the product is A++, i coudlnt be happier. Of course, pictures can be found at http://twb.usmb.net -Brian
  15. AWESOME!!! Im planning on Feb 14th, 15th and 16th. Leave Sac late on Friday the 13th, leave OR on Monday the 16th sometime. Will need to make arangements for sleeping... are there many low budget motels in Medford? Also... if people need parts... lemme know. I can prolly drag some stuff up with me. -Brian
  16. My breaker bar is made by Craftsman, so I dont really care if it breaks Havent broken one yet, and i put them through hell when im at the yard. That tool would come in handy tho, looks alot lighter than my breaker bar and 36mm socket. -Brian
  17. Hopefully sooner than that. Depends on how long it takes Tony to make a bumper Then i can install it. Im thinkin of taking 4 days off. Possibly Saturday through Tuesday. How's the wheelin up there about now? -Brian
  18. 505 yes, not sure about 405 tho. Those rims definatly dont look like 4x140mm tho. -Brian
  19. Unless you have a Peugeot, they wont do you much good. -Brian
  20. Where in california do you live? Here when they smogged my Car, the tech set the parking brake. Good thing i was standing next to him, and caught it. If I wouldnt have, he would have ruined my brakes. -Brian
  21. Going to drive from Sac to Medford to pick up some stuff from Tony. Would love to do some wheelin while im there. I can tell there's a large group forming in Medford, so shouldn't be difficult to organize a gathering. Im thinking maybe Early to Mid Febuary right now. -Brian
  22. My fuel pump has 2 wires going to it, pos and neg. Both are black but one has a white stripe. Does anyone know which is Postitive? -Brian
