Sounds like a dead starter motor to me.. But could also be a loose wire on the start, or on the battery. Check all connections. Then try another starter.

One thing that I like about running my 215/60R15's is the longer gears. First pulls for a lot longer and gives faster 0 - 60, even though it is slower acceleration through first gear. But it still is annoying at traffic lights. My 27" M/T's are much worse. You'll notice a slight drop in power. You may get better, but most likely worse mpg. I have noticed my 215's are much slipperier on dirt then the 175's I used to have. They are to wide for the weight of the car. But they are fine on the pavement even in the soaking wet.

99RS = 2.2turbo? Somehow I think you'd need more low end torque to push a locked rear and front LSD or locked front around. I'd just but a yota, but I see what you want, and I think it would rock. Here in aus I'd get a Toyota 4x4 Diesel... you poor folks in the US never got the diesels though huh? 3L turbo diesel REALLY kicks a$$.

Painting the hatch, need some suggestions....

Heres what you should do... Really dark black tint. And polish the hell out of those wheels. Then she'll look even nicer then she does now. Or I'd go the black and silver out of your choices. -
Gen1 front headlights in gen2+ models??
Phizinza replied to eddygordouk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
On my "gen2" (EA81) the outter lights have three pins (because they are lo and hi beam) and the inner have two pins. Not sure it this is the same for the EA82 DL's though... -
Most of the time I get out and start digging.. But if you just got stuck and haven't dug yourself in to deep you can try using the handbrake as a poor-mans LSD. Pull it on hard and release the clutch, if the car is under lots of strain and not moving with lots of clutch slipping let the handbrake off slightly and slowly till you start to move. It's a hard thing to get the hang of and is bad on your clutch. Also doesn't work with auto's I wouldn't think.

And also do something for a thermostat housing and radiator hose.

bolts that won't stay tight...

I found once these gaskets start leaking that don't stop if you just tighten them up. They need full cleaning/replacement. The oil seems to stop them from sealing. Just my experience anyhow. I used RTV, works better then most sealants. -
Alfa 33's with the flat fours (1500cc or 1700cc) used carbs on each head. Only they had more of a EA82t style head, two inlets. You'd need to build custom manifolds and a custom linkage for choke and throttle. Other then that you might need a jointing pipe (made from alloy I would recommend, not rubber) between the two manifolds to normalise vacuum between the two. Just a lot of fabrication work. And you will need two new carbs. Some webers would do the trick! I have the standard EA81 dual carb setup we got here in Aus. Uses about 20% more fual and gives about 10% more power. This setup will alos bolt onto a EA82 I believe with no troubles. But you'd be looking at $300 for the manifold and another $100 on shipping :-\

My brother has them in his new Fiat 1981 X1/9. They just go in place of the H4 globes. They are 35watt and apparently are good enough for highbeam... I'd love some, but the kit is like $400 or something, just for two low wattage ones.

EA82T crossmembers work too I hear.

I don't think the gardeners would appreciate that, lol.

Seems to be the way for all EA81 upgrades
-
Well looks liek you got your answer. Like everything else, enough dollars and you can do anything (if you ignore the rules.) But I guess you have an idea on how much dollars it will take now. Things like custom drive shafts is whats going to cost you big bucks. Unless you have the skills and a machine shop at your finger tips.

super ultimate hp gain ground wire?

Lol, family friendly version... I just thought you hit the wrong key. -
Would you buy a "Service DVD" (video howtos)?
Phizinza replied to Syonyk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I had a thought. What I think would sell more is "how to fix the screw ups!" Like fixing those stripped exhaust bolts. Or getting out sheared off bolts from the most horrible places. Which to my knowledge just requires lots of drilling, some more drilling, and few swear words, and "easy out", more swear words after it breaks in the hole. Some more drilling. And finally just cut a new dodgy thread in that HUGE hole you now have... That's about all I wanted to know how to do when I started fixing cars, "fixing those old stripped/sheared threads" -
Pretty much all right execpt not the exhaust... It vents from one side of the turbo to the other basiclly. So with a normal setup it would take air from just after the turbo and vent it to just before the turbo (well thats how the MX-6 does anyhow) Doing this will stop the pressure in the intake and thous letting you slow down. A BOV takes the air from just after the turbo (keeping in mind this is messured air, so if you lose any of it the computer will go mad) and vents it to atmosphere. With moving your MAF (or what ever) to between the turbo and intake (well, between the point where you put the BOV and intake) you can vent this air before it is messured. I don't care for the noise as it doesn't do anything for performance. And on most setups it makes the car run rich like ryostyle was explaining. I prefer the spool sound of the turbo.. Which either means its bearing are screwed or its on big turbo pushing alot of air

Love it, just magic to look at

The reason I'd choise ethanol over petrol is for its friendlyness to the environment. Pitty you can't really get it here even though we have one of the biggest sugar industries...
