  1. dont need them chuck em, , plug up all the water lines and vacume lines,
  2. I will work up a list of all the parts needed and post it here , on the manifold Im going to do the next one with a holesaw in a hand drill to see if the average guy with basic shop tools can do it , I will offer this service for those that dont want to tackle it
  3. OK switched out the carb, heres the one I had on it , it says WEBER on it think it might be off a Fiat not sure, notice how tall the bottom plate is, it worked great on the EA81 but not on the EJ22 heres the 32/36 all hooked up ,got it off a Datsun pickup and went threw it , boy what a differencre, I love this car, cant wait to go offroading again, it really goes now ,way better then the EA82, Im not going back,
  4. found this of interest Baltimore Kinetic Sculpture Race Website A 2004 Kinetic Pilgrimage California: May 28-31, 2004 The Bikin' Fools built their entry using the body, tires, and transmission from an actual Subaru, and on the side of the car described it as "2630 pounds (fully loaded)." This photo was just after they earned the Biggest Splash Award; they also won Hobart's Founder's Choice Award. All the sculptures, including the heavy ones, sail two miles south and come out at a commercial boat ramp. This under-the-hood shot shows that the Bikin Fools removed the engine and firewall and created their own pedal-driven powertrain linked into the original transmission.
  5. maybe ditch the subaru transaxle with a regular tranny that has more room,
  6. I like the idea of cutting the subaru transaxle to make room for the diff, If I could do a 6" lift I would do it with the Nissan 720 T-case more vw hub ,, now the wheels would turn the wrong direction
  7. I to would like that, I realy like my white car with the 4" lift, it just needs a lower gear, I dont want it 8" up, hummers have geared hubs also the old 60s VW bus has this type hubs, $$$$$$$
  8. correction 2" at front of diff , 3" at back of diff
  9. if you need help with some adapters I can cast them out of Alloy if you send me a wood pattern
  10. found one problem the top rad hose has a pin hole leak, also the carb is smaller then a 32/36, not sure but I think its off a Fiat will swap out this week with a bigger 32/36, still looking for jetting info, I guess I will do the trial and arror method, the car runs cool on the road, it was only offroad I had cooling issues
  11. Ive had a few EA82s over the last few years, had a lot of fun with them, I have no problem with the moter, I also have a couple EJ cars, they are nice also, with any machinery if things are wore out or not up to stock new condition there will be problems, both engines are good , were talkin 20 year old moters with the EA82 thats probably the biggest issue, any machine that old will need help to bring it up to stock new specs, Ive abused, yes litteraly abused all the subarus Ive owned and they come threw , very impressed with Fujis quality
  12. Andy your mail box is full I have the Cash , I need that carb this week
  13. looks good, what rating is that Lbs.? hows it work ? tried it out yet?
  14. with a 4" lift, the diff works fine at 3" on a EA82 you can go stock at 4" but 3 works out without any axle problems
  15. Ok took the car out on its first trip put 100 miles on it , hears a pic of it sneakin threw the hood this is with the engine lowered with a 2" block so on a stock car the filter would be sittin 2" higher ,I learned a few things first the stock EA82 radiator with only 1 fan dont cut it for off road use, need to upgrade to a bigger rad and 2 fans, second I had replaced the stock FI pump with a lower presure carb pump and installed it under the hood, this doesnt work as the pump has to suck and it ends up suckin air, so we swapped it to the stock location under the car and the problem went away, thanks everyone for helping and waiting on the carb swap, 3rd this weber I put on came off a EA81 car and on the EJ22 its starving , so I either need to rejet it or replace it with a larger carb more matched to this size engine, now this is were I need some help from you carb experts, what size Carb would work best with this 2.2 liter and what should hte jetting be? all in all I really like the new setup, it has way more lowerend power then the EA82 which was nice for offroad
  16. No thats my favorite tool, Ive noticed 0n these ea81 guys when the car is sitting level the diff stubs sit lower then the wheel stubs, now as one wheel comes off the ground the oppisite wheel gets compressed and all the power is going threw that one wheel, as the other is spinning, see picture in this situation all the power is in the opposite wheel, so if thats the case I propose that when sitting level the diff stubs should be higher by 1" then the wheels thats how Im set up , never ever broke a Axle with this EA82 , that way when its compressed its not as great a angle, did I make sence? If you look at the 81 next to 82 the 81 axles are smaller and have less movement
  17. Hey I miss out in all,, ALL the fun
