  1. Not likely to find many of us with one of those things on this board. I would say 98% of us here are in the USA. And unfortunately, we didn't get the twin turbo cars:banghead: But welcome to the board anyway!
  2. I have never gotten better than 23 in any of my Turbowagons under any conditions. However I have been beating the piss out of this 83 brat for a week or so in short, around town hops and it seems to be hangin in ther at about 25 mpg
  3. A big reason we didn't get them is because subaru would have had to come up with a completely different design for the exhaust plumbing. The steering gets in the way of the drivers side turbo on LHD cars. Not very cost effective.
  4. Mine was in the top 10.. now just getting it on and off the trailer is a brutal task for the motor Headed to the top 5 soon
  5. What year RX? 87+ is always in 4wd, so naturally its safe to drive on the street in 4wd. I wouldn't do it with the diff lock on. 85-86 is not FT4WD, so no, driving on the street in 4wd is not a smart thing
  6. You made it here! PS. 91 Legacy only counts as old school on NABISCO;)
  7. get a good block, clean it up. get good heads, clean them up. Slap it all together with an OE seal kit I'll bet I can come up with a good clock and heads for you, but you are so far away. Shipping would be a bit.
  8. And probably faster, given the current state of my POS PS.. will probably be ordering some stuff from you in the next week or so.
  9. Oh yeah.. don't forget Will's 20 year old POS
  10. Yes, they are fun But be prepared to get your rump roast handed to you by any honda thats not a bottom of the line 20 year old POS
  11. Phone is up and running.. Been having some network problems though. Thankfully my neighbors don't believe in wireless security, so I have internet on one computer at least
  12. What is the other one out of? My recommendation holds true fro MPFI, SPFI and turbo I have put in used ones with no problems I wouldn't pay more that about $20 for one. Doesn't seem like a regular occurence, but its often enough that I hear about it every once in a while.
  13. Selective quoting is even easier:rolleyes:
  14. 85-86(MPFI and Turbo) is a different setup than 87+ (MPFI and Turbo) 85-86 uses a vacuum advance, while 87+ does not. I have had the module go out in an 87+ Turbo car, easiest thing was to simply replace the whole distributor.. takes about 10 minutes.
  15. Quiet you. You are a little too clueless to be handing out info. Practice learning through silence Just to clarify, Not all GL-10s were turbo, nor were they all automatics. Rust. Not exactly sure where you are, but as was stated above, finding a donor car (85-94 in the US) is going to be the best bet. As far as price goes, if you are looking to have a shop do it and the rust is anywhere as bad as you described, I would seriously consider finding a rust free car with a bad motor. If you can do it yourself, you will save tons of money. One thing to keep in mind, its really hard to give any sort of price estimate to people in other parts of the world. the subaru market is vastly different outside of North America where 90% of the board membership is located
  16. The main purpose of car domain is for pic hosting. For quite a while, there has been hosting available through usmb.net and now directly through the board. That makes cardomain more trouble than its worth for most of us.
  17. BTW... Festivities will commence around 1030 AM.. you gonna be there?
  18. My wagon runs and drives.... Just not very far
  19. Super cheap spring compressors are scary. Be careful.
  20. Careful everyone, WJM quoted me $480972 for a stock EA82 radiator mounting bolt. Boost fluid and muffler bearings were even more money:lol: Seriously though, thanks for your help yesterday, Will.
