  1. Damn.. 85 up 410 is a neat trick for almost any car with 4 cylinders.. especially when every time I think about trying it theres a cop sitting off to the right just as the highway turns and starts to go uphill..
  2. Code 44 = wastegate solenoid In the pics you showed, the wastegate solenoid wasn't attached to anything. I would think that would be enough to throw a code
  3. No such beast. You may have seen an on the fly center difflock switch though
  4. What kind of turbo do you have on there to be getting 19-25 psi?!!?? Stock turbo is only good for about 15.. At 20psi, a stock EA82T should be reduced to a pile of blown head gaskets.
  5. Ok, from he top .. quickly because I am short on time. -Fuse= I believe its part of the AC system.. can't remember for sure -Timing marks. Not on the crank pulley on an RX.. they're on the flywheel.. Make sure you have your green connectors plugged in when you do the timing -RM connectors. Yes, they are black on my car too (sorry for not posting pics). - Codes.. clear them and start from scratch.. Don't be concerned about the 'SVX' code.. it applies to yours as well.. its just that on an SVX, that codes specifies which O2 sensor is throwing a code --Disabling fuel cut. I would be curious to see how this was done. To my knowledge, no one has done a satisfactory job of disabling fuel cut on an 87+ EA82T.. Many of us run higher than stock, but as long as the OEM Ecu is used, fuelcut is an issue. Some have experimented with zener diodes/voltage clamps, but still waiting to hear the results of that.
  6. Where in the world did you find a used motor in WA for $700? I might know where theres a good engine fairly close to you that just needs to be resealed. I'm sure it could be had for MUCH cheaper than $700
  7. ok.. first off, I have a question. You mention that the car is AWD I assume its a FT4WD car. If its a stick, most of theFT4WD 5 speedscame with LSDs. If thats the case, please don't do any welding on it. If you want one to weld up and have it completely locked, I will get you one if you send me the LSD. Beyond that, sounds like a blast! EDIT: I have a set of calipers if no one closer to you has any
  8. I always use blue RTV on that O ring. I have never felt comfortable enough about the fitment of that pipe to put it on without a little extra insurance.
  9. On a normal MPFI intake, the cts is behindthe throttle body on just to the left(when standing in front of the car) I have gotten this code a few times, ans each time all I had to do to make it go away was clean the crud off th contacts.
  10. off topic 88 RX sedan, some one just told me of 2 GL-10s parting in SA.. said one still had the motor. So if you are looking for parts, let me know and I will get in contact with the guy /offtopic
  11. I don't think the sarcasm button on my keybard is working right:)
  12. Theres a thread on NASIOC OT right now titled "Post Favorite Subaru Desktop Pics " http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=588288 The third or fourth set of pics are of The Ultimate RX Good Times for all
  13. Yeah, thats the one I wanted too.. But I got one like styles has instead because I'm a cheapskate.
  14. I'll take a complete set for testing please
  15. hmm.. tht looks like the same cone I am using.. maybe its time to look into doing something like that. where did you source the pipes from and how did you go about bending to fit?
  16. One thing I forgot. The tech in question told me this apparently wasn't an issue for our japanese counterparts. He suggested that the problem stemmed from improper torque from the factory. PS.. for whoever it was that said 'non- issue' Umm.. I hate to tell you this, but thats a non-word. Its one of those trendy sayings that some manager created to make himself sound important.
  17. One minor correction, and it may just be my point of view. The single range FT4WD(5 speed) trannies don't really seem to be any easier to find than the RX D/R FT4WD trans. It took me quite a while to find mine, and I have not seen another since I got mine.
  18. I talked to a service tech at a Soob dealership.. I was calling about something else completely and as an aside, I mentioned the Phase I HG problem.. He asked what year phase I I had..when I told him I didn't own one, he breathed a sigh of relief and said they have serviced 'a large number' of Phase I head gaskets.. but officially there was no problem. He went on to tell me that had I been an owner of one of the vehicles in question, he was to deny any knowledge of a know problem and quote full price for repair. Maybe BS, but I know the guy and he's not BS'd me about anything else that I'm aware of. Due to the nature of the info given, I am unwilling to post what dealership this ocurred at.. I will say it was somewhere between seattle and Dallas.
  19. Of course I'm right!! Just look at the car in my sig. (pugs and a little bigger tires=a little more ground clearance)
  20. Mine too.. but for a different reason.. I'm a cheapass and have made anything better yet
  21. Tranny =$50- $250 depending on where you go. Other parts, same deal.. Deals through the board are often the way to go.. when I did my auto/manual swap, I spent like $5 at the yard.. the rest of my money went to local board members (local to you.. I used to live up there)
  22. I wouldn't be too afraid of it.. thats the area the factory airbox draws from anyway
