difference between GL and GL-10?
Before we get into the war of what was or was not, be aware that this was all hashed out not too long ago and can probably be found with a quick search. Bottom line.. there isn't much on a GL-10 that wasn't available in a GL.. And even then, what was standard varies a little from year to year.

You will also need the tranny brain and all the associated crap as the $ speed is an electronically controled trans.

first question.. its easy to get rid of airbags. Second question.. no idea what you are asking, so in that case, the answer is always false.

Newbie here...
You can pull the fuse, but the FSM actually says to unplug the pump and run it dry I think.. The pump is under the car right in front of the passenger rear tire. theres a little two wire connector.. pretty easy. In case you don't know already, the fuel filter is mounted right behind the front drivers strut tower. Welcome to the board.

'91 Loyale 4WD wagon suspension questions
There are three different strut lengths for EA82 cars. Short=XT, medium=2wd and some 4WD sedans. Long = 4WD wagon Oh yeah.. theres the RX struts too, but I can't remember where they fit in there. And to confuse matters even more, 85-86 4WD wagons had adjustable struts.

unique installation spot?
there are a couple of options for your deck. one is to try and find the faceplate kit that has a spot for your trip computer. another, which I did, is to find the faceplate kit for one with no tri[ computer and move your trip computer down to the lower cubby hole (which happens to be the factory spot on an 88-89 GL-10). If you move it, you just get the factory mounting stuff off an 88-89 GL-10 and it pops right in.. you just have to cut a hole in the back of the cubby for the wires. Speaker wires.. fronts, you dont really need to do anything. Rear doors need new wires(although it doesn't have anything to do with coaxial or otherwise as stated above, its because subaru uses a silly common ground setup).. just run the wires under the door trim.

would like some gauge suggestions
I stick with boost and water temp.. I have 2 spots for gauges and those seemed to be the 2 most imprtant to me, with A/F running a close third.

Turbo Gas Question
No special tuning necessary for your car at high altitude. The MAF and computer handle it all automatically. Mine ran the same in CO at 11000 feet (berthoud pass) as it did in Seattle and Dallas.

Premium fuel needed for turbo??
calebz replied to terryb52's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXLower octane= higher chance of detonation.. If you want to drive a turbo car, spend the extra 10 cents per gallon and put premium in.

where to buy parts online?
The EGR code on EA82 cars doesn't actually refer to a malfunctioning EGR valve. It refers to the EGR solenoid, which is a bit cheaper to replace.. last time mine crapped out, I picked up 4 or 5 from a wrecking yard for about $1.50 each.. 2 of them ended up being good.

EA82 parts swap into a EA81?
the seats will work too.. there may be some modification necessary on the seat rails.. can't remember. However. I think it would be a shame to see yet another rare turbo touring wagon go to the dogs simply because of a bad motor.

Tranny swap Qs
Definitely.. since you have an automatic, you don't have a flywheel at all!! You most definitely need a different one that the one you don't have.. A quick search should yield the answers to the mystery of which one.

Turbo Gas Question
I run 93.. you will probably hear lots of debate about this one. Bottom line; in every turbo car I have had, the higher the octane, the better the car runs. and thats not just soobs..

Tips on EA-82T swap?
Mark your hoses. no special tools for an auto. Takes a slow afternoon with plenty of beer breaks. .. 2-3 hours if you are in a big hurry
