  1. Tsk tsk tsk.. I tell you, you tell someone else.. Next thing you know, everyone has one:lol:
  2. Some have drilled holes in the floor and used long bolts with big washers.
  3. I assume your GL-10 is 87 or older.. so the trip computer is next to the deck. There are 2 options. First, there is a faceplate adapter available, but sometimes hard to get. Its made by metra, and it allows a DIN sized deck and the trip computer to coexist happily. Or, as I have done. I got the Metra kit for a car without the trip computer and I moved my trip computer down into the cubby hole below the ashtray. Its easy to do, as that is the stock locTION FOR 88-89 gl-10.. I just used parts from an 88 for the housing.
  4. heres a pic from before the BOV was installed. IC is there though. You can't see it because theres mesh over the front of the scoop.. its there to catch those bigass texas bugs. http://usmb.net/albums/albuo11/picture_008.jpg EDIT:.. D'oh.. just realized why you couldn't see the IC and such in the first pic. .. I put the hood on another car to do the cutting.. Didn't want to cut into my IC:).. plus I found it was easier to make the cut with the hood on a car. You gotta be quicker on the draw man! Plus, I know someone else that has ordered that scoop as well.. you better get yours on there so you aren't last in line! Btw, the hole only takes about 10 minutes to cut Yes, fits quite nicely:)
  5. Already got the intercooler and BOV(recirculating) in there.
  6. Thers a hole in my car. http://usmb.net/albums/albuo11/things_008.jpg Good thing I have something to cover it with http://usmb.net/albums/albuo11/ebay_010.jpg
  7. Evergreen tire in Tacoma used to have a good assortment of lugnuts. I got some for my peugeot 15inch alloys there about a year and a half ago..amazingly enough, the wheels were actually on a peugeot!
  8. I have 185/75/14 on my 87 wagon.. No lift, no rubbing.. No problems... its a 25 inch tire.. stock tire is 23 inch. you don't need to worry about a lift or fender trimming until you hit 26inch or larger on an EA82 car .. Although I probably wouldn't go over 25 inches with a 2wd EA82 (shorter suspesion.) Northguy, ,please refrain from telling everyone they need a lift or low profile tires.. its just not true..
  9. have him ship you the whole roof.. then cut your roof off and weld the new one on. Tim put one of those brat roofs on his hatch. Its pretty cool.
  10. Turbo? SPFI? MPFI? (90+ means they would be gen 3 and probably not turbo... I would check to make sure though)
  11. Funny.. All of my manuals specifically say to NOT pull the engine and tranny together. Get a tranny jack, unbolt stuff, remove tranny.. Installation is the reverse procedure
  12. Sorry bud. I just have to disagree. I have used a wide variety of aftermarket ignition systems on an assortment of cars. A decent higher powered ignition system has been superior to stock on every vehicle I have upgraded. This includes very old and fairly new vehicles (never upgraded ignition stuff on any of my brand new vehicles)
  13. could it be that its a slow rump roast 80-90 HP car?:-p
  14. I had a brand new stock coil and a brand new Accel.. with the Accel coil, throttle response from a stop was greatly improved.. 9 months later.. still working.. may reposition it to be safe though.
  15. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16087&highlight=saab http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15216&highlight=saab Theres more, but those were the 2 most involved ones I think.. PS.. and its a little more than a 'regrilled' WRX.. Saab finally did something about the crappy suspension and steering
  16. Ok.. I know on the older soobs like my turbowagon, the brakes get bled in an X pattern.. is it the same on newer soobs as well? Specifically on mid 90's legacies. Thanks Edit.. nevermind.. found the answer with another search.. mods, feel free to delete.
  17. ?? Better car? how.. the 92X is everything the WRX is, plus a little more. I know this is a soob forum.. (thus the subaru in my signature) However, being an owner of a Subaru and a past owner of many Saabs.. I happen to think the 92X is a nice car for all the reasons I stated above and a few more on top of that. I don't want a pissing contest about which car is better(especially since they are basically the same car).. But I will add one note regarding the part about buying a new WRX so you know that it hasn't been beat.. Thats all well and good that you would buy a new one.. Personally, I doubt I will ever buy another brand new car again. I've done that enough times that the novelty has worn off. A well maintained car a couple of years old is a much better deal to me.
  18. A: its better lookingB: the steeing and suspension upgrades from the WRX c: because Saab sells to a different demographic than Subaru, its more likely to be able to find one in a couple years that hasn't had the crap beat out of it by some 17 year old rice boy. D: Saab dealer service is notoriously higher quality than the average subaru dealer. I can speak of this from experience having owned a number of Saabs Those are my own personal reasons for buying a 92X over a WRX
  19. When I first put my turbowagon together, I drove it from WA to TX less than 2 weeks later.. ran into a few cooling issues while climbing a 12000 ft pass on CO.. but sometimes you just have to go for it.. just remember to gather some USMB member phone numbers before you go
  20. Hey man, Call me tomorrow afternoon and I will give you some tips on getting the axles in..(first tip.. put the tranny in first ) If they are still giving you trouble after that, I will come down and give you a hand.
  21. Where in texas you gonna be arch? Yeah .. HS drags at pacific raceway (SIR when I was in high school) are lots of fun.. I did it in .. 92 and 93
  22. Actually, GM owns 100% of Saab and 20% of Subaru. I've also seen the Saabaru. Its a WRX wagon with a Saab front clip. I like it.. But then again, I have had more Saabs than soobs. after they have been out for a couple years and the price somes down, I'll probably buy one.
