Yeah.. umm.. no Haynes sucks FSM -
Swaybars are a direct swap.. as is the LSD.. Problem is, the LSD would need to be converted from 3.70 to 3.90

Head Gaskets set, Better than Others?
calebz replied to Joey Joe's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
For a stock turbo car, OE gaskets are the way to go. I know some have had good luck with the FelPro PTs as well.. I got my most recent set of OE gaskets from www.1stsubaruparts.com IIRc, it was around $45 shipped for a pair. I didn't order a 'kit', as I had just recently purchased a complete gasket kit for the whole motor (OE as well).. But the gaskets bit the dust during installation when the block stripped out (another long painful story:-p ) -
I guess I don't talk about mine enough

That could be Wn you have the diag connectors hooked up, does the fuel pump cycle off and on ever 1.5 seconds or so? -

That works quite well. My preferred method is to drill a small hole in the bellhousing. I have a hardened steel rod that is about 12 inches long and fits inside the foles in the flywheel perfectly.. I just line stuff up and drop through the hole I drilled. quick, easy and painless. (although I haven't tried it since all the WRX parts came to live on my wagon.. betting its a little tighter fit now) -

Driver side runs the dizzy.. no belt, no spark;) On a side note, I have no front or rear T belt covers on my wagon.. makes timing belts a 20 minute job if I'm feeling slow:D -

Thats how I have mine for the moment. Seems to work pretty well.. gets me 7psi on the TD-04 wastegate. I have a homemade MBC and a turboxs MBC I have been using.. the home made one allows for more boost, but spikes.. the turboxs one is much smoother. Now that its running well again, I will probably just throw down for something decent to control boost with -

It can.. Just not wth a piggyback;) -
Rory was the guy with the bright yellow EA81 lifted wagon (before austin's;) ), right? I wanted that thing so bad when it sold a few years ago..

93 or higher..anything less is just asking for detonation. You are at a lot higher elevation than I am, .. I think your octane ratings at the pump go from 85 to 91 .. is that right? (haven't been to CO in a couple years).. anyway.. turbo cars should get the best.. Higher compression turbo cars should definitely get the best 93 is premium pump gas here I can get 100 from a gas station about 20 miles away. Cats will be gone soon... then it will be time to play with some C16

Welcome and good luck in your search. My understanding is that the Chevy Forester didn't sell that well in India over the past few years, so convincing the bean counters to release a more expensive version is probably a long shot. But perhaps this new partnership with toyota will change that for the better.

Thats basically the same setup I have, except mine is an EA82. (plus I have a bigger turbo;) ) Not sure how well it would work, turning the boost down for offroading.. MBCs work great for interfering with the wastegate to create more boost.. but if the wastegate is set to stay closed until 5-7psi.. not sure how you would get it down to 2 psi. Oh, and the theory that you would get the low end of the carb and top end of the turbo car is nice, but not entirely accurate. You lose some of the top end when you raise the static compression ratio. However, that can be regained somewhat with exhaust and intake mods.. more air in, more air out.. Makes for a happier car.

No timing belt covers at all for me. So far so good.

Non adjustable;) Nipper nailed it on procedure though

Everyone recieved money/parts/whatever yet?

Not bad for 55k mile belts;)

How much power should I get?

That is pretty effective. Easiest IC install I have seen was when I was using a Top mount from a turbo II RX7. Used some of the pipes from te RX7 and some piping from a mitsubishi conquest. Only real custom fab work that was required was a small spot of welding to attach the RX7 recirc valve. With the RX7 IC.. With the WRX IC.. -

We did that in HS.. worked like a charm Though in today's sue-happy society, I wouldn't recommed it -
64-66 A-bodies for teh win! (I spent a few years playing with a bunch of different 64-66 Darts and valiants)

That setup worked quite well for getting my wrecked wagon back home as well. Since then, I have moved a soob in nearly every way imaginable. Truck and trailer is still my preferred method.

Good. Progress. I will lock and unsticky this thread when I hear that Noah has his adapter plate and Matt has his money in hand.
