  1. If you are looking for one that fits a 3/4 hose, The best one I have found is from a TII RX7.. Worked great for me. Yes, recirculating to the silencer thing is convenient and works well.. The actuation can be done from any hose that comes off the manifold that sees both boost and vacuum. Personally I use the same hose for the BPV and the boost gauge. Its the one that comes right off the middle of the manifold right under the TB in the back.. Its plugged on manual cars, used to control the modulator on auto cars.
  2. Now why would you do that.. throw in the 1991-94 loyale with the new gen stuff and throw in the 90 legacy in with the old gen stuff.? Tailgate, I'm kinda curious whats up with this as well.. I'll see what I can find out.
  3. Dril a hole in the intake plenum, figure out a way to mount the BOV, the install and enjoy the sputtering and richness between shifts that venting to the atmosphere causes. Enjoy your rice PS. There is no performance gain to be had by putting a BOV on a stock EA82T.. Just rice.
  4. Time to go bigger Mick. Thats the sound over heavy loading.. Too much time doing that and you can kiss another alt goodbye. PS.. I'm sure of course you check belt tension already:-p
  5. Didn't even have to use the search function to find this one.. It was a fairly recent topic. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30413
  6. IIRC, thats the fast idle adjutment screw. Its a controlled vacuum leak( for idle compensation when the AC and such is on)... They aren't supposed to come out.. I have a spare crap manifold and I can't get that adjuster out to save my life.. On the other hand, I have lost 2 of those damn things from my wagon and 2 others on my old 88. I too have a thread sealed bolt in place there now.
  7. The kit will fit.. requires a few mods to get the whole thing on a wagon.. Good luck finding one. they are out there, but few and far between.
  8. Excellent checklist.. But you might want to add to it.. Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath Some tools A jack A few more hours..
  9. Mr Garner, You sir, are a pimp. Good job and thanks for sharing your numbers
  10. Dammit Brad.. I was having a good laugh at your suffering and you had to go ruin it:mad:
  11. Could be the bad axle. I would say its pretty likely Could also be an alignment problem
  12. What is it that you don't think you like about FT4WD/AWD?
  13. Nope.. tried it on 3 of the 5 computers here.. Its working now though.. was probably the crappy hosting service you like to use :-p Doesn't look too bad.. I Looked at using the same pod at one time and determined it was just too big for an EA82 car.. sure it can fit (as you have shown).. but the gauges stuck out too far IMO. Not too bad though.. it uhh.. goes well with the steering wheel and shifter....
  14. If you don't know the maintenance history on the car, do yourself a favor, at least get the radiator flush, replace the water pump and the timing belts while your at it. Doing that could save you a whole lot of heartache in the future. Performance.. Do a search on the board to see what others are doing.. there are motor mods, suspension mods, exhaust mods.. all sorts of neat stuff.. and being individuals with almost zero aftermarket, we are all going about it a little differently. you can get into the game as cheaply as $10 with an ebay manual boost controller..but I wouldn't do that without at least a boost gauge to monitor boost levels... Or you can go whole hog with big turbo, intercooler, custom exhaust, copper head gaskets.. all sorts of stuff. Exhaust - crossover pipe.. Those things are a down right pain in the rump roast to get out with the motor in the car.. I have never done it without jacking up the motor a little.. Others have had some success with doing it without moving the motor.. I'll let them explain how. Oh, and welcome to the board
  15. Dude. That looks friggin great. One of the absolute cleanest mods I have seen done to an EA82T car. Good Job.
  16. No pic came up. Maybe try the onboard hosting here?
  17. Search? For filters, recommendation has leaned toward OEM and Wix..And definitely away from Fram
  18. If its an aftermarket deck, there should be some sort of clips behind the trim ring that can be undone to slide the deck out. Can't really help beyond that as you don't provide any information about what sort of deck you had installed.
  19. Careful.. I can think of more than a few Texas Subaru owners of hispanic type persuasion that would take exception to such comment.
  20. Try kbb.com for prices in your area. Given you are in one of the 'soob states' I doubt you are going to see anything in the $2k range for an 85.. And its not much of a collector car either. Sounds like a good start for a project. Keep it, mod the hell out of it.
  21. Thanks, its not actually that bad off throttle.. But then again, Its running an open downpipe right now so I haven't driven it that much..lol PS.. I have a complete spidered motor in the garage... If I hadn't just built the motor thats in my wagon, I would use the spider now.. instead I am going to wait and see how long the current motor lasts.. will probably push it a little more now that I have a backup:D
  22. Theres actually some merit to that. A friend of mine in Tacoma has a yellow VW bug with the license plate "DEADBUG" Floor pan rusted out immediately after the plate was put on and the battery hit the road at 35mph going down 6th ave.. car got a lot slower, immediately..lol
  23. Mine currently vents to the atmosphere, but most people use the silences thats on the intake boot as a place to plumb their recirculation.
  24. What intercooler Brian has a Saab Skip uses a Mitsu IC (I think) I used to use an RX7 Now I have a WRX IC how its set up depends completely on what you are doing. A search will give you a number of different answers.
