  1. If its a 5 speed, you should be ok. Towing with a bar = 4 down. put it in neutral and away you go.
  2. Hey Patrick, good to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by before you guys took off. I enjoyed meeting you and your wife. Lillian keeps asking when your wife is coming back:D Glad you guys made it there safe. I expect a full report on what sort of neat things you find in the yards there.
  3. Center diff doesn't take well to the abuse of 2 wheels turning and two being stationary.
  4. A reseal kit can also be had from www.1stsubaruparts.com . they are usually my first choice for OEM parts. Since its a turbo car, I recommend at least using OEM head gaskets (if you go the route of a complete reseal) But it sounds like your troubles could be fixed with a couple oil pump seals and cam seals.. Pretty cheap and easy fix. May as well do the timing belts while your in there.

  6. Every time this comes up, I feel just a little bit luckier that he actually sent me my stuff :/
  7. 1- sounds like your votage is a little lower than normal, but its an old car. Might want to make sure your grounds are clean. 2- Lights should turn off with the key if its anything like the EA82 cars. 3 -not sure 4- check the marketplace for cars being parted, post an ad there, or go to your local PAP. You are in the land of subarus. shouldn't be too hard to find one.
  8. Little bit of oil on the inside, little bit of ultra grey on the outside.. install.
  9. Actually, being an 86 model, ovrboost fuel cut can be and probably has been disable. Aditioanlly, I think that car has since been blown up, ressuected and replaced with an RX:-p
  10. What is your opinion on putting one single good sized injector right before the TB? Would serve a similar purpose of fattening the mixture under boost.
  11. I'll bet shipping from Oz would kill any savings you would get over having it done locally. Look pretty good though:D
  12. Prolonged use of the 2WD fuse has the potential to cause problems. Additionally, the mileage gains are slim to none. This has been a pretty constant discussion on the board. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33533&highlight=2wd+fuse http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16339&highlight=2wd+fuse http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12485&highlight=2wd+fuse
  13. Personally, I don't trust the digidash temp gauges. I finally broke down and installed an aftermarket gauge. Much more effective IMO, and not terribly expensive. The gauge is a cheap sunpro.. about $15. And I used a CRX pillar pod to mount it.. that also left me room to add a boost gauge. Two nice things to have on a turbo car
  14. There was someone selling a rack in the marketplace recently, I believe. I have a set of Thule feet and load bars that may come up for sale soon as well. Oops, just noticed you were looking for something for the rear, not the roof. Disregard :-p

  16. Accell coil = Me owned 70 miles from home
  17. Looks good! (of course it looks good, it looks a bit like mine:-p )
  18. Matt.. it says he's in NH.. Its not like its TX or AK. Everything is pretty much within walking distance;)
  19. 24 isn't listed as a code for 1983 in any of my reference stuff.. But then again, I don't spend a lot of time playing with the super old stuff
  20. Sounds as though you have answered your own question;)
  21. Nor does this have any bearing on older generations of Subarus Closed
  22. If its a fairly easy fix, I would fix it and give it back. If its a little more involved and its equipped how you want, buy it and keep it If its a little more involved and not equipped how you want, Buy, Fix, Sell, Profit.
  23. I have always gotten it from he passenger side
  24. Theres nothing that has the exact same setup as the WRX.. If you decide to use the EJ20 from a wrx in another subaru, you can put it in nearly any subaru from the 70s and up.. it all just depends on how much modification you want to do. If you intend to put the motor in another impreza or legacy, you will still need the wiring harness, ECU, exhaust and random other assorted bits. Disclaimer.. All info above applies only to USDM
