  1. I wish my attention span was long enough to stick around on the chat but I get distracted by shiny things...

    great pics!
  3. oh geeze, when I started reading that I thought the project was done for... so I was very relieved that everything worked out in the end... I'm waiting to see some action shots...
  4. locking hubs on a subaru?! that's gotta be blasphemous somehow... but that is some pretty good flex...
  5. try here first then come back and ask more detailed questions: Frequently Asked Questions: Tires Wheels Lift Kits Mods for offroading Soobs. (:

wow, you got stuck good... nice bowl action pic... now plan some local events on a weekend so I can go! but wait until I get some spare tires... (:
  7. same here... you want to keep at least the stock ones on the auto-switch... you could wire aux ones to a switch... but I like the idea of maybe have some low aux ones and the stocks on the auto-switch and then some high ones on a manual switch... an override to turn them all on would be nice as well, for when you're coasting back down a hill, but that'd just be extra work for something you won't use much...
  8. I agree, it's awesome! I'd buy a sticker...
  9. I like the way it looks without the doors and fenders... more of a buggy...

just saw this... not subaru, but... we could use a few good amphibious vehicles to get the engineers thinking again...
  11. same here, but in order to avoid chasing fumes I was thinking maybe it should actually got to a filter or something and then return the actual liquid to the tank... I have bad mileage and a gas smell so I'm wondering if it's my atmosphere vent or a leak...
  12. what if you tore out the charcoal canister with the rest of the emissions junk? then where does the vent go?
  13. I was expecting an STi powered Justy... but it's still cool... but it needs something that says Subaru when you look at it... if even just some graphics...
  14. I see a red 360 van! cool! but why illinois? it's in the rust belt so there aren't going to be a lot of subarus in that area... they really should have used the northwest for this... and yeah, just the USMB alone could probably organize that many cars in a parade...
  15. so how tough is it to remove the defrost vent (driver's side) from the dash? can I just remove the instrument cluster to reach it? or does the window or entire dash have to come out? mine is warped and restricts the air flow right where I need to see... want to replace it with a good one but don't want to tear the entire dash out... and I want to do it before it gets wet out...
  16. good idea, and raise it up a little so the passengers get a good view...
  17. leave it as a 4-seater... and leave just enough in the back to hang mud flaps and a bumper...
  18. awesome skid marks... can really see you going over the edge... must have been a scary ride... I've been in plenty of wrecks, but never flipped over...
  19. yikes! the ecu is on the floor? sheesh, what a bad idea...
  20. welcome! I think '82 is the best year for the old gen... you'll find plenty of resources here to help keep the brat in good running condition...
  21. I have one 14" alloy that's different than the other seven... I don't know about the offset but the depth of the lug holes is shallower than the other seven... I'll probably sell that one since it doesn't match... I don't remember it sticking out further than the other one but I can do some measuring when I remember...
  22. black with the red bead...
  23. you mean so you can have 2-lo/2-hi/4-lo/4-hi combos? here... Twin Stick D/R EA81/EA82 (Seperate Lo Range from the 4wd stick = LO Range FWD) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71289
  24. I think there's one for each fan... behind the strut tower on the passenger side... little black jobbers...
  25. thanks for the clarification on that... I mean, I know you need a good snorkel in addition to other things for water crossings... I was thinking I wouldn't benefit from a snorkel because I don't plan on water crossings, but after reading your post it seems like a good idea for my off-roader... here's SubaruJunkie stalled mid-stream... he hit it too fast and flooded the disty...
