  1. so you can't close the door because the latch is locked closed? usually you can just take a screwdriver and force the mechanism on the outside of the door to open up... but as GD says you may have to pull off the door panel and mess with the internals if something is jammed up in there... --Spiffy
  2. how much gas was in it? so we know how far they might have gone... hopefully not too much... --Spiffy
  3. all it needs is seat belts and you can have 4 passengers in the bed... --Spiffy
  4. if you email subaru they'll probably send you one for free... they sent me one for a '98 impreza a few years ago... --Spiffy
  5. you should use the other standard camo colors to paint the flames... and paint those door jams... c(: --Spiffy
  6. why would you want to free Hat McCullough from prison? he murdered twenty-three babies & toddlers! --Spiffy
  7. here's the wheels page link from the 80's page linked in the header up above... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html those are the only wheels that will fit stock... otherwise you'll have to modify your hubs to fit a different bolt pattern... you can find the old puegeot wheels in 14" and 15" and those are nice enough to run some low profile street tires on... --Spiffy
  8. seriously?! that's what sets that dealership apart... that's where the cars101 guy is that has the van... it's a sweet van, and will probably go for a lot... I'd love to have a 4wd subaru van with all the newer creature comforts... maybe somebody I can import one or they'll make one for the US by then... --Spiffy
  9. yeah, some tires would probably be good if you plan on going on the street... looks like you're ready to hit the train tracks right now! I agree on hitting up local tire shops for a generic center cap... --Spiffy
  10. from what cars101.com says it's got a chip in it that's registered to the receiver unit in the car... so it's probably going to be expensive... but it seems that you may be able to get a used key and reprogram it at the dealer for your vehicle... --Spiffy
  11. I got there late, in time to see some old school mud action, which is really the only thing I wanted to see besides the old gen section of the show... (: --Spiffy
  12. all of those things can be done at home with a little time... I used to have an '85 and did a lot of those things myself, and I'm a n00b... I'm always on the iffy side when I'm driving my 26 year old car... things are going to die on it after a while... --Spiffy
  13. I couldn't find much info on it... I've never known any environmental hate to be directed towards subarus... --Spiffy
  14. yeah, AA keeps going in and out of the subaru business, which gives me no faith in them... and I saw lots of AA threads with people asking where their kit is after it's been paid for... I've heard nothing but good things about SJR and that's where I'd take my business... I've heard good things about BYB (ausubaru.com), but they're in Australia and the US site ozified.com shut down... --Spiffy
  15. yeah, as McBrat said if they're the 15" spoke alloys in your photo gallery then you need the special ball seat acorn lug nuts... you can post here in the wanted section for some pug lugs, or use the link that pierman2 posted to get adapters... --Spiffy
  16. this is also the shop I go to... been going there for years and richie is awesome... if I want it done right, and quickly, I take it to him... and if I screw it up I take it to him... (: --Spiffy
  17. I read a lot of talk on message boards about the midnight-6am curfew... at least they made it late enough to still get some decent night rides in... and it's the curfew that created the rule for having a toilet... you gotta have somewhere to go if you can't drive to the bathroom... you could always just pitch up next to somebody and use their toilet... I've been meaning to get one anyways for forest outings... cb channel 5 sounds good... I should have my cb in by the end of the week... and if not I have the frs radios... --Spiffy
  18. I have a similar issue... my 4wd light comes on when I brake hard... and I don't have a lo light... either burnt out, out of adjustment, or doesn't have that feature... --Spiffy
  19. I agree... I like to actually cover some ground and see the sights... I don't want to do anything radical and risk breaking things and spending my "fun time" getting back on the road... there's always gonna be jeep/toyota/subaru people with attitudes... but that's just because subarus are better and we're better people for owning them... (: and if you own both you're obviously better than me... I won't be rock crawling in my subaru... but I'll get to see lots of beautiful scenery while being comfortable and carrying people and gear... subaru does what I need it to... but I would go toyota if I needed something serious... but it's more fun to do it in a car and have people look at you kinda weird... I'm all for helping the less capable... wait, I am the less capable... but I don't mind stopping to pull people off stumps... or pulling a truck out of the snow with my wagon... what goes around comes around... --Spiffy
  20. yeah, sjrlift.com (Scott in Bellingham here on the board) sells lift kits... check them out... there are also directions on this board for making one yourself... but if you're having somebody install it then just buy a kit... the old peugeot wheels are the only other 4-lug with the same pattern... they're sometimes tricky to find, but they're out there... look on the For Sale forum or post your needs on the Wanted forum... you can also get some chevy, toyota, or nissan 6-lug wheels and drill some extra holes in them to make them fit your hubs... instructions for that are on here somewhere too... lots of good info in the USRM, and the search feature... --Spiffy
  21. there are plenty of images and video to be had on google... type in "forester crash test" into the http://images.google.com/ or http://www.youtube.com/ search... --Spiffy
  22. and you're first on my list for pre-made lift parts... you get good reviews, and I just like the look of the parts with the SJR logos on them... I don't see aluminum 4" ea81 lifts on your site right now... but that steel one looks cool... but when the time (and money) comes I'll be getting in contact... --Spiffy
  23. 1bignose has a 3-door with 30 inch tires and no lift... check this thread: http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=88591 --Spiffy
