2005 Baja Trailer Wiring Adapter
Legacy777 replied to TWClark06's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf I had to guess, I'd say they probly would. Do either harnesses have pictures of what the connector looks like that you hook up to the tail lights? You could compare that to the connector on your baja.

1995 subaru impreza L 2.2 upgrades....
Legacy777 replied to gmoney1184's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI believe you could swap stuff from the later imprezas all the way up to 2001. You may want to check out http://forums.nasioc.com/forums as well.

Stereo Swap Question
Are you swapping stuff from an old gen car into another old gen car? It sounds like it, so I'm going to move this post to the old gen side.

Bad trans won't move '98 OBW in FWD mode
Legacy777 replied to srponies's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThat's weird it didn't want to move at all. Are you sure you got enough trans fluid in there? Are you checking the level with the engine running and have cycled through the gear selector?

EJ wiring harness questions
As josh mentioned, you have to use the engine wiring harness from the 90-94 legacy so the engine connectors hook up.

91 legacy AWD
Legacy777 replied to minago's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI think 2900 is a little steep, however the mileage is pretty low. As mentioned, is it MT or AT? The cam seal is cheap, but you have to take the timing belt off to get at it...so labor is pretty much the same as doing a timing belt job.

transmission question..
Legacy777 replied to Meeky Moose's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe final drive is probably different. The SS has a 3.90 final drive, while the 95 I think has a 4.111 final drive. What trim level is the impreza? What engine does it have in it? The electronics are going to be different between the two cars, but you "should" be able to run the 95 Impreza 4EAT with the turbo legacy TCU. The turbo legacy 4EAT actually has a few things that make it beefier then the standard 4EAT, extra clutch packs and what not.

Anyone know about getting radio and shift buttons on the steering on an '05 OBW?
Legacy777 replied to hoovman's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't see why it wouldn't work. I didn't read the whole thread. Have you posted in those threads to see if anyone has done it on the OB?

Legacy memory chip?
Legacy777 replied to WoodsWagon's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt's probably the JECS ECU. I'd suggest seeing what VRG3 thinks.

Dyno'd the turbo engine today
Legacy777 replied to Legacy777's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe stock turbo legacy came with the IHI VF11 turbo. The first gen turbo legacies were available from 91-94.

new XT, first of 100 questions...
Legacy777 replied to jts99OBW's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou really don't need to the lights. The plastic is pretty resiliant and shouldn't chip/crack from rocks, etc.

Legacy memory chip?
Legacy777 replied to WoodsWagon's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt's more then likely a subaru specific thing....does it look anything like the 90 ECU? http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/images/swap/19 Vikash (VRG3) on the legacycentral bbs would probably know more about it.

92 Leg Rear Differential
Legacy777 replied to Olnick's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJust to add a tid-bit to this. The 92-94 MT's have 4.111 final drive ratio, but the 92-94 AT's have 3.900 final drive ratio.

2001 OBW will not even lock brakes?
Legacy777 replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThere's probably water in the brake fluid or air, and as temps get higher with higher speeds, the issue gets worse. Flush the brake fluid and see how it works.

Random overheating of 98 Forester
Legacy777 replied to Top's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes, you can put the car in 5th gear, have someone stand on the brakes and you can loosen the main crank pulley bolt. It has normal threads. Left to loosen. Make sure you re-tighten the bolt to 120 ft-lbs, and it's not a bad idea to put medium strength locktite on there.

Starting problem '91 legacy 2.0 SOCH 4EAT
Legacy777 replied to rverdoold's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf you have cold starting issues, the coolant temp sensor can cause problems if it's bad because the ECU uses it for cold start fueling correction.

Gen1 Legacy: AWD, diffs and computers
Legacy777 replied to SakoTGrimes's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWith MT transmissions, torque split is 50/50 all the time. With AT transmissions, the torque split is 90/10 under "normal" driving conditions under a straight line highway driving. However that variance with torque split under day to day driving will vary all over the place.

3/4 misfire and dreaded P0420
Legacy777 replied to bagtagley's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHmm....the rough running conditions and poor gas mileage could be due to coolant temp sensor. Or possibly IAC valve....but it wouldn't necessarily explain the poor gas mileage.
