  1. Yeah, I didnt catch it the first time. I've had to get pretty agressive with them before. Shake, jerk, cuss, whatever it takes.
  2. Theres 2 more nuts on studs on the bottom. There should be a total of 4. If you have a jack of some sort, put it under the tranny to lift it a little.
  3. That is also correct. Some say its a 40/60 split, others say its a 50/50 split.
  4. You will need to prove that, or no one is going to believe you. Including me.
  5. The half years only pertain to a couple of models. The 87.5 XT-T...........Fulltime 4wd with spyder intake and 4EAT. The 89.5 RX.........Fulltime 4wd, D/R w/difflock and the color black.
  6. I dont know. My RX is nice and tight and my SVX can fall out (same with the Hatch). The springs might be wore out on the cams inside the switch.
  7. I suggest you do some research here about the EA82T.
  8. I bet a AT with the right stall converter in it, offroading would be feasible (turbo). And the WRX is a EJ20.
  9. Ok, just to prove it can be done.......... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1475098
  10. Its the same for all EA82's. The timing will be different, it should say on the hood tag.
  11. It could be the fuel pump control unit. But without a parts book for the EA81's I dont know for sure.
  12. It looks like thier propulsion system didnt work out like they planned. Because it sure looks like they be paddling to me!
  13. Ditto on the windshield. RX and GL are different. As for swapping the EA82T into the GL, I really dont suggest it. There are so many things that would need to be done. From the fuel system to the electrical to structural. If this is your first Subaru and have meduim mechanical skills, it would still be a challenge. And even tho I've been a staunch supporter of the EA82T for years...... its not worth the hassle, IMHO. Better off going with a SPFI or a EJ.
  14. Where was it located? I want to say its the ECU, but I dont think so. If it came out of the drivers side fender it would be a anti-knock unit, but those were on the EA81T's.
  15. My last turbo engine I had (and blew) was missing about 1.5in of the edge of the piston. There was no trace of it when I removed the head. And there was only small marks of the top of the piston with no damage to the valves. Little alum shavings are going to just get blown out the exhaust. I know when the PCV system/hoses start to get plugged with junk and back pressure builds, the dip stick likes to pop out to relieve pressure in the block.
  16. Something is wrong with the hill holder mechanism and/or the cable might be sticking upon release. Altho it wouldnt hurt to have the brakes bled and the rest of the brake system checked out, I think the problem is with the hill holder.
  17. I'm going to have you sign some forms before you go back home
  18. I have to go to Oly today to look at a car. Maybe I can make a run north tomorrow.
  19. DICKS! Mostly because I know where it is, the food is cheap and its not a hugh trip for me.
