PICS,were did the wheels go?
Turbone replied to mykingcrab's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You/we live in a area thats full of 2 Gen stuff. I'm sure there will be a Brat around where you can get those parts soon enough. -
You might want to add some gussets to the bases/posts for added stability. Just a suggestion. But the progress is looking good. Gotten further than I have

How many have you meet and greeted.

Huh, CRS at such a young age -
Well, that might be your problem! The vacumn modulator on the tranny could be bad and is pumping AT fluid back up into the intake. Pull the vacumn line from the tranny off the intake manifold and see if there any fluid coming out. If so, thats the culprit.

Yes, you get decent power out of a bigger turbo. But it needs to be run conservatively, like no upping the boost. At least not for long periods.
-
This is probably a dumb question, but is it a AT? Alot of times when theres antifreeze thats leaked into the exhaust system, it takes awhile for it to burn out. Let it run for about a hour and see if it still smokes.

I usually dont like to rain on folks parades (not often) But the ER27 is not a very good choice if you want performance. Its just a morphed EA82, essentially the same block design and all. Theres no aftermarket support for it(just like the EA82T) and if you turbo it, your going to end up with the same problems the people running hot EA82T's have. Cooling being the biggest headache. And with having to mod the rad for this swap, your in for real problems. I know the engine came to you cheap (free?) and it looks like a fun project. But a EJ20G is a much funner engine to drop into a RX and its been done succesfully. If you choose this path, good luck and keep us updated.

Lowered hatch with lowpros?
Turbone replied to archemitis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I wouldnt go with Pugs, the offset is to much and you will have major rubbing. Unless you rolled the fenders. I would look for some other wheels, maybe Chevy or Mazda and redrill them. You might be in for a rough ride if you cut the front springs. Might be some other struts available out there. Wasnt there a American model that was a direct swap over? -
I wasnt sure which forum I should post this, if a Mod wants to move it, please feel free to. This was during our Mt Loop/Mt Baker run today. We were looking to get up to a look out, but the gate was closed and locked :-\ But on the road up we discovered a little rise in the road. We had people top and bottom to stop any traffic and also had radios for communication. Qman, Zap and I all had runs at it. I took a couple of Qman with my digi camera, but unfortunatly, the quality of its vid capabilities suck. But heres a link to the YouTube vid I uploaded. And heres some stills from today. It was good to see Mike W. again. He's got himself a nice Wagon now, its the one on the far left. Zap and Qman and the others that were there today have more pics. They are welcome to post them here if they wish

I Did it Went Real New Gen!!
Turbone replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its funny how things work out sometimes I'm a firm believer in a crazy theory I have. That if you want something really bad and no matter how you try, its always out of your reach. Then sometime the road, after you have given up, something better comes into your life. Yeah, sounds corny, I know. But its happened to me enough times. But dont expect something for nothing tho. Things come to you only if you work hard and deserve to be smiled upon by the Subaru Gods :-p Glad it all worked out for you Connie -

Heyyyyy, just 2 days ago you said it wasnt going to happen? Did you go somewhere else, or did you win the lottery and are keeping that a secret? Btw, congrats. Oh, and do you still want a EA82 wagon? :-p -
Well, it sounds like your going to have to contact him and find out where he put it then......cause I sure dont know!

*Bad Update* Buying an 87 XT. Any words?
Turbone replied to testy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If the air suspension is flat front and rear, say good bye to your kidneys Been there, done that. The swap is very straight forward and easy. Almost all EA82 front struts and rear shocks fit. -
Welcome. If you do a search for EJ22 swap, you will find all kinds of info for what your wanting to do.

Way to go Austin. I've been looking for one just like that (but black). I think theres some parts on CL, you may have to go back a few days. I had some emails from someone that has engine/tranny and more, just last week. -
Well, I cant wait to see what the future holds for you and your LGT
