  1. Hah, you wont mistake mine for some import:-p
  2. I've got 4 or 5. If you want one, PM me your shipping info and $5.
  3. Well, its purring like a kitten now. Got the bugs chased out and its sounding great. Needs a good wax and buff and that ones ready for the Show. Now I need to work on the XT and get it ready:rolleyes:
  4. Finally got it all buttoned up this morning, filled all the fluids (was it Shawns idea to leave the coolant drain plug out of the drivers side head? I'll get you back...) and made sure everything was hooked up. Cranked it over......and over......and over. Wth? Light bulb ding:rolleyes: Forgot to reconnect starter ign wire. Crank again.........again.....again.....what now? I dont know if its my disty, its not from a 89, I think its a 87/88. But I never get the timing right on this thing. I set it at #1 and it wont fire. I backed it off and then advanced it, still no fire:mad: (Shawn again?). So I pull the plug out of #1 cylinder and make sure its on the comp stroke and then I pulled the cap off the disty and its off by about 90deg. Reset the disty and cranked it again........fired right up:headbang: Then it sounds like a rod knock:-\ Ok ok, just needs to run for a bit to get the fluids flowing every where. It took about 15min and got a little toasty too. I made sure it had coolant in it, about 5min later everything setteled down and it ran smooth. But I have a bad sensor somewhere, its got a bad miss under accel. I'll check the timing again and all the plug wires, etc. I tell yeah tho, when it first started up, I was a little worried;)
  5. The "bring a truck buddy" is a very important part of the equation. Helps to have them along when your forgetfull foresight in gear comes and bites you:rolleyes:
  6. Thanks for the tip Abe. I went and picked up the part I needed and headed back home to finish the install. Well, that was the plan. Mother Nature had her own plans. I had the engine mated to the tranny and was getting ready to start buttoning things up and I got hit by a pretty good thunderstorm. Lighting and thunder stuff, with some pretty hard downpours. So that sent me inside for a few hours till it dried out a little. Went back out and all I had left to do was drop in the rad and put oil in the crankcase. BOOM! Another thunderstorm:-\ I gave up til tomorrow. Hopefully everything will go smoothly with the new engine break-in, cause I had a talk with WagonsOnly tonight. He's going to be driving another one of my cars to the Show next weekend. And it needs work before that:rolleyes: Axle or wheelbearings, I'll get r done:-p MykeysToy's Wife will be driving the RX for me, with me in the Hatch. I'll have my own little caravan. So I could be the only person to have 3 cars at the Show. Do they have a award for that?
  7. 2hrs? Did you move to WY?:-p Thats the closest I come to CO.
  8. Oh, I'll be good and loose for the Show. Expect a ride in my Hatch tho buddy:grin: I would give you a ride in the RallyX, but I cant race my RX. Not enough time to get break in miles on it.
  9. Yeah, maybe your right. I need to take out some aggression. See you next weekend:mad:
  10. You guys are really going too suffer. He just got married and is now on his honeymoon:lol:
  11. Might have also been available as a special order option. If you have the money, they will have what you want. Its just a matter of waiting for it.
  12. Dang Connie, thats rough. Yeah, you can cry some:-\ Now.....stop crying and get to work. Reveen has it spot on. Clean it up as much as possible and learn glass, seeing how you wont be able to do any welding. Glass is easy, just a little messy.
  13. I'm going by the OEM part number, its the parts store that does the cross ref. I have 30502 AA001 as a part #. Theres also 2 different bearings. One is for a 200mm disc and the other is a 250mm disc. I have the 250mm, which of course, is the most expensive. I'll give that # a call, thanks.
  14. How the heck did I do a double post? More coffee please:rolleyes:
  15. Heres the brochure from 84. Only available in 84 with 3AT pushbutton 4wd. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/Literature/brochures/1984-c.jpg
  16. Whats your source for this info? Even the local weathermen up here cant correctly predict the weather 3 days in advance:rolleyes:
  17. Rock on:headbang: Your almost there. Unlike me:-\ grumble grumble
  18. Thanks Tim. I've been in contact with Dave for a while. He's offered his hospitality if I ever made the run to Sturgis (maybe next year).
  19. Thanks for the offer. I just checked the parts book and its not a match.
  20. Theres two nuts holding the engine mounts to the cross member. Those are the ones you need to remove. The whole works lift up and the tranny might be hitting the tunnel. Your trying to get a pretzel to fit in between the engine and cross member, its a challenge for sure.
  21. Dont piss him off, he can cut you off at any time:cool:
  22. Waaaa! Went to the parts store to get the TO and they told me they didnt get any deliveries today:mad: Wankers:-\ Now I have to wait till Monday, the engine is just dangling from the hoist:dead:
  23. Will do. Might be a good idea to have your cell # before hand;) I should be real close to my destination by then.
  24. Yes, you certainly did misread it:eek: That was for shipping only. It cost another $1600+ for the engine. New p-bearing is being installed too.
