About 5yrs ago Corky and I went out to the Olympic Peninsula to check out a car that was on Ebay. We were interested in how they managed to get a 12cyl Allison engine into a 1970 Opel GT. We spent the afternoon with the owner and looked at the car and asked alot of questions. Dont know if the car ever sold, never got back to the guy, but it had a pretty low reserve ($3000 I think). Anyway, since I figured out how to download my VHS onto Youtube you can enjoy what Corky and I witnessed that day. Unfortunatly he was unable to keep it running due to fuel delivery and low batteries, you get the idea. Btw, this car was actually street legal:eek: I have a bunch of pics, just need to locate them.

Sweet. Load it onto a CD and I'll pay for mailing. Did you try and come up the middle with the ruts? Or off the side like my last attempt? I know that Ryan Douthit from SubieSport took vid of me going thru the "pond". I wonder if theres going to be vid from the show by the mag? WRX2FFU, which pop? Theres the one where I shifted into 1st gear before sliding into the ruts, then theres the one where it pops after I hit the rut and go up on 2(?) wheels. Thats when the axle snapped.

I hate my XT6 with Every little peice of my Soul

You better bring Rocky. If I have to haul parts for him across half the country, he better get them in person:-p Lets see.... Carpet. Passenger door panel. Passenger seatbelt retractor. Anything else? (Besides a new car). -
CTS Question on my Hated XT6
Turbone replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Shouldnt need the t-belts, I just installed new ones. But you never know:rolleyes: Cant imagine a failure of the pulleys, but have encountered the XT6 crankpulley failure firsthand. Might throw a coil into the mix just for S&G's:-p -
Good Lord:rolleyes: That should get him probation, if not banned at NASIOC. That was flagrent BS on someone else's thread. Its not like he started his own thread of BS:-\

I've been running a MSD for a couple years now in my RX.

I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for Rocky. I want to see you guys at the Dragon. I want to be able to give you away. -
CTS Question on my Hated XT6

You got a punching bag, dont you?:-p No, not Tommy:rolleyes: Old parts do have a tendency to act up and die, dont forget that. I plan on bringing a spare part for everything on my XT......well almost;) Rad hoses, top and bottom. Coil. Alternator. Timing belts. AC and Alt belts. And maybe a few other things I cant think of right now. -
No, but a Brat might be able to:-p With some good stiff shocks.

CTS Question on my Hated XT6

Connie, have you checked for codes? The ECU is in the trunk by the right rear speaker. Plug the green connectors together and the black ones together. Tell us how many blinks you get and we can look the codes up. Remember, long blink is 10 and short is 1. -
Bullshiat. Thats all I wheel....for now:rolleyes: I just spent 2 straight days (almost 3)wheeling at WCSS9. Me and the Hatch need a break. I need to figure out how to get a broken lower shock bolt removed, but it still wheels. Just not as hard.

Alcyone ( XT XT6 SVX ) Dragon Meet News
Turbone replied to Bucky92's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Heh, thats not the whole tree either. The branches got stuff hanging off of them also. SuperBikes on Speed did a show where they were at the Dragon. Lots of crazy stuff I tell ya;) And no, a lifted Subaru is not a good idea:rolleyes: -
I wouldnt use house circuit breakers, they are rated for AC, not DC power. If you have alot of accessories, why not use a main cutoff switch? That would be the ultimate in peace of mind. Except when your running. Just have to remember to use it evertime you shut the car off. Properly shielded wires rated for the amperage your pulling will help from overheating. Do a little research on the net, there is a ton of info around.

I think somebody needed a pump reeeaaly bad. And I can probably guess there are a few people on this board that are close to BGD's personality/character, they just hide it well:-p

Turbone replied to Alabass's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Heres a link to the belt changing procedure. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50768 -
I'm shooting for Aug for some wheeling trips. The cabin sounds like a plan, havent been there for a while. EC is another destination, maybe a HP Meet? Of course Yotas are welcome.

Turbone replied to Hondasucks's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It almost sounds like its a tooth off on the timing. My old 86 T-Wagon did the same thing till I redid the belts. -
Also in Wales, UK. My wife was there twice.

 Wow, thats a serious meltdown. Was that from a short/ground out? Glad that the rest of the car is still there.

The burning smell is probably the varnish in the system from sitting so long. Not to mention all the spider condos you just toasted:-p
