  1. That wasnt aimed at you, it was for me. 75Subie and I have a little disagreement about buying and shipping cars to the East Coast, thats all.
  2. IMHO, toss em and go to conventional. I dont know if you can repair a rip that big in the diaphram or not, none of them sound like they are in any condition to last much longer. Do the swap and quit worrying about wether they will stay aired up or not. Last week I drove on flat air suspesion for 50mi. This was my beginning of a 6,ooomi journey. I almost turned around and went home (to get my RX). But it decided to be nice to me and air up. Still havent attempted any troubleshooting....yet.
  3. I agree, wholeheartedly:headbang: Ask the gang from the Dragon run how old they think I look? In the camplight:-p
  4. Thanks for saving one from the east coast rust:rolleyes:
  5. Nice looking car. BUT, I want to see pics under the hood. You listed all the mods, but no pics!:-p
  6. Ok, enough H/J'n already:-p We have plenty to do here in the PNW, just have a problem finding time to go do it:cool:
  7. Some of us "Old Timers" have FSM's to deal with the little eccentricities of some models. That includes the finiky air suspension from the GL-10 wagons that came equipped with it and most XT/XT6's. I have had 2 XT6's with converted suspension and currently have a XT with it. It likes to deflate if it sits for a couple of hours and I havent checked for leaks yet. One of my XT6's, prior to me converting it to standard susp, was a bear to diagnose. Everything leaked, the lines, the selanoids, even one of the shocks. I bypassed the puter and added schrader valves to air the front and rear seperatly. But when I found the selanoids leaking, that was the last straw:mad: I'm almost afraid to touch my XT:rolleyes:
  8. Heres the only other ride I have. Its all I need to go along with the other 5 Soobs I have:-p
  9. Would have been easier to replace the whole door. Its not worth all the labor when it can be replaced.
  10. Heh, but your reputation precedes you;)
  11. What package was that? I must not have read all the options, cause I didnt see one in that format (for internet?)
  12. What he said^^^ (I just love it when other people answer questions for me:rolleyes: ) The RX isnt even to the 1K mark yet:-\ But I'm working on it. Now that I'm back I've been driving it daily. It was veeerrrry nice to get into something with a little more HP:-p
  13. Hmmm, theres tons of stuff to do here. But you just got a new job there:-\
  14. DITTO^^^ If your that worried about it, do something. You said you have all kinds of equipment in the basement, use it! Change your diet, eat less. I dropped almost 15lbs in 6mo and I'm feeling much better. Just need to get a little more muscle tone back and then I'll be ready for the dating scene, haha:rolleyes:
  15. Speaking of towns with funny names.... I was traveling thru Kentucky (I think) and saw a sign for "Bucksnort". After I was done LMAO, I got the camera out to take a pic of the offramp sign but half of it was covered by a tree. I almost turned around to go by it again:rolleyes:
  16. I would also like to thank Tim and Vickie for thier hospitality, twice:clap: Having a shower on the way home made my trip home alot more bearable, if you know what I mean:-p
  17. Alot of times what happens is the graphite brushes will leave a bunch of dust on the armature inside. When mine did it, I would give a couple of whacks with the handle (wood) of my hammer. It would knock the dust down so it would make contact. After a while it wouldnt work, so I took my compressor and blew into the motor. It displaced a bunch of dust, but the problem returned after a while. The motor needs to be pulled off and the brushes inspected. Replace if they are getting real short. If they look good, just get all the dust out of the motor and it should be fine for a long time. Or until the brushes need replacing.
  18. Single Range GL-10 Turbo wagon. Same car, with added cupholder in vent. Dual Range RX. 89 XT6 AT
  19. Hard headed? Thats saved my arse more times than I can count:headbang: I've traveled in foriegn countries by myself before, I think I can handle a 6Kmi cross country trip:-p It's always a learning experiance tho. With someone with me next time, they better help keep me awake:rolleyes: Whoever/whenever makes the trip over here is going to be in for a real treat;) Actually, the texting kept my brain going. A little distracting but hey, not to many other cars on the road at that time either. I almost stopped at a store in town here today. Bunch of High School kids doing a car wash, but I didnt have any cash on me at the time. Hopefully they will be around tomorrow so I can get the bug guts off the car, its nasty.
  20. He will be 16 then. Already a head taller than me (not hard to do) and outweighs me (a little harder). But ever since he was a baby, the girls have been after him:rolleyes: He has about twice as much hair now:rolleyes:
  21. I hate driving thru these areas at night, you never know whats going to jump out in front of you. This is a peice of the tumbleweed that scared the crap out of me. This was after hitting the coon. I stopped 4 or 5 times during the night to take quick naps. By Tues morning I hit Billings, MT and got some breakfast and a MOCHA:banana: I drove all the way past Spokane before I had to take another nap. Rolled into the driveway at 6:30PM.
  22. Yeh, I'm going to try and get something going for EC in late Aug or Sept. Would love to make a weekend out of it. Probably going to head up to Zaps hideout the 2 weekend in Aug for a weekend gig. Let me know if there are any specific dates in late Aug or Sept your interested in.
  23. The light will come on if the brushes in the motor start to wear out. But at least these are available from other sources, just need to cross reference them from a place that works on electrical motors. If someone knows of a auto chemical analyst, they can do a breakdown on the ingredients. Then you can find out what other fluids are compatable out on the market.
