Have you seen a therapist? Not the physical type, you know what I mean. Sometimes they can actually help. What your suffering from is "Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome". The same thing that soldiers get when they come back from combat. There are ways to deal with it, I've had to more than once. Fear is a mind killer. If you let it get a foot hold, your going to have to work real hard to defeat it. Oh yeah, I grew up in SoCal and learned how to drive on the freeways there.

EA81T oil cooler on XT-6
Turbone replied to kingbobdole's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just need to pull the spring out of the valve I think. Unless its a thermo sensor...I cant remember either. But I do have the FSM EA81T manual on the shelf in front of me. Gee....I gues I will just stretch the ole arm out and.........get back to you:-p Yup, its a thermovalve. You migh5t be able to pull it out and replace it with a plug. That should allow oil to pass thru. I'm going to scan it and post a pic of the schecmatic. It may be a little more complicated than that. -
Nope, they wont.

I assume one is EA81 and the other EA82. I have seen 3 different colors also. The 2 you have and blue.

EA82 or EA81 hi-rise. I know you asked me the other day, but I'm old, remember?:-p -
I believe these are made to order. If you notice, almost all the liscense plates are blocked out. They could be representations of owners real cars.

Seeing how I had to skip out on the Elbe run today, I'll try and make it. I may show up late tho. I can almost remember how to get there? -

I think I saw this somewhere else before:-p Like to know if it will make any difference in temp. Like to use mine on my RX. -
Cut the end of the wiper off:-p J/K.... Have you measured it? Not sure what the length is supposed to be, but it could actually be to long. Or you can try and clock it back towards the bottom more. Thats about all you can do.

So I bought a new subaru
Turbone replied to WoodsWagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The Justy ECVT is nothing like any other tranny out there in Subaru land. Hopefully someone here will know more about it. Otherwise, we are just as much in the dark as you are:-\ -
You 2 sleep in shifts?:-p

A few pics from Deals Gap (The Dragon)
Turbone replied to Turbone's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
Yeah, I quess I have to learn to not believe everything I hear:rolleyes: The police presense helps keep the speeds down, and the traffic is pretty bad on the weekends. But judging by all the parts on the "Tree of Shame" not everyone can handle the road, regardless of thier speed. I saw a few bikers cutting corners, these were usually the big cruisers. They obviously are not made for cornering. I editted my first post and changed it to a average of 3 crashes a week. Totaly realistic figure there, could actually be higher than that. -
Were you driving or a passenger. Either way, thats a nasty one. Never been in a rollover, but plenty of other wrecks.

Every State in the US has a road like that. We have dozens here in Washington, the biggest is the northern corridor of I-5. Theres a short 2 corner hill by my place, its called "Sand Hill". If your coming down it when its iced up, your in for a real ride. Even in a Soob;) People are too complacent. They assume the car they are driving will somehow drive itself and they can go about other business. Yacking on thier cell phones, yelling at the kids (My late wife wiped out a mailbox doing that) arguing/playing with the wife, etc. The whole American mindset when it comes to driving is totaly wrong. Its not just a mode of transportation, getting from point A to point B. Your in a vehicle moving at speeds up to 75mph (in some states). You better pay attention, or become a statistic. -
Legend of soob reproduction

If I see a empty spot next to a Soob in a parking lot I need to park in, heck yeah I park next to it. Dont want them to feel left out (like that would happen here in the PNW). -
Other cars/Vehicles we own
Turbone replied to DJtheGOD's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
Is that you currently own, or have in the past? I think we are talking about current. I posted pics of my truck because there was a question about it. So I showed pics of it:cool: -
A switch to the fuel pump is the best;) When I was gone on vacation I pulled the plugs on the fuel pumps on 2 of my cars. They would have had to tow them away.

The rotor is frozen on the shaft. Its happened to me a few times. Just need to tap on it some (lightly) to break it loose. Might even have to pry on it a little also (again, lightly).

To get around the wheel lock (gads, I'm giving away all the secrets) take a pair of channel locks and get a grip on the ring on the outside of the ign switch. Give it a hard twist and pull. The whole thing will come out, then all you need to do is insert a s screwdriver and turn the lock at the end. But your right about the relay, its actually a switch....just a extension of the ign switch/lock. But you need this off and accessable in order to start the car. I looked at a 87 XT on Monday and there was no one around, so no key to start it. I tried 3 of the keys on my key ring and one started it. If the car is high mileage, almost any Subaru key will turn the ign, with a little fiddling.
