  1. And yes, we have a CL For Sale Forum here;)
  2. I would say you have a record there. Most of our members from 03 have at least 100 posts:-p Welcome back. It sounds like a CV going out. To help better diagnose it, you will need to look at both ends of the axles. Check both of them for torn boots. Most likely the one thats torn is the bad CV.
  3. Hopefully, someone from your side of the country will have what you need. I do, but theres no way I'm going to try and ship one of those rear bumpers:-\ But I will ship the tail lights. Do you need both? And go here...http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=230f82ae140967de3052a23bb0d3c6ef and register. You will be in XT heaven.............well, close;) Nothing wrong with being here, its just that over there its XT specific, abd you might have a better chance of finding more parts closer to you.
  4. I had my RX tinted a few months back and asked about the colored tint. They said they wont use it because it fades after a couple of years. I dont know if this includes the metallic tint or not. I went legal on the doors and dark in the back. Cost me $240 total.
  5. Haha, thats funny. I'll have to mention that to the kid. We are suppposed to pick up the engine this Sat evening. Its a built up one, see my other thread.
  6. I went to get my SVX tested today. Didnt make it:-\ Went and put fresh gas in it and headed down the street for the bank. Got to the corner where the light was red and it stalled:rolleyes: Took 5 tries before it woudl keep running. After that it was leaking tranny fluid on the exhaust and smoking, so I said the heel with it. It needs lots of work still. Have fun with Pheeb, glad you got a good runner now. And now you can pimp out Rocky!
  7. Here you go. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50768 We have a online manual for alot of repairs and maintenance, its at the top right under USRM.
  8. Yup, forgot about Scotts Brat. Havent heard from in him for a long time, thats probably why:-\ BUT, mine does get abused offroad. Just not as often as I would like tho:rolleyes:
  9. Mmmm, better read this... http://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/spcollector.html
  10. Turbone replied to WoodsWagon's topic in Off Road
Nope. The only thing I've ever been high centered on is deep snow:rolleyes:
  11. Perfectly. Mine is probably the closest to what your talking about. The only thing thats non subaru is the t-case. I still have the IFS and IRS, EA81 engine. It has some sub frame to it, this was for the t-case and engine support. My next project is going to be something entirely morphed. Theres only 2 others like it around, and they are both in WA State:-p
  12. See you this weekend at the NASIOC mini meet at the Auburn Top Foods. If your going to be there, look for my Old School stuff. Should have at least 2 rigs there.
  13. Oy, another local:-p Looks like Evans Creek almost?
  14. Mmmm, it depends. Got lots of rust where your at? Then it might be tough. Another thing about the drums. You will probably have to back the pads off. There should be a bolt/pin on the backside that you turn that will back them off. Then you will be able to pull the drum off the backing plate. At $250 for replacing a stud, I would certainly do it myself:-p EDIT_-_-Just realized your in my neck of the woods. Want to come down to my place? If you bring the part I'll do it for a 6 pack of O'Douls.
  15. The reason you are converting the LSD to 3.90 is because 5spd D/R trannies are 3.90.
  16. Young friend of mine recently got a 91 Mitsubishi Galant VR4. 2.0 4G63 turbo, etc, yadayada. The car is in great shape but the engine has a rod knock. So we are in the process of getting a rebuilt. These suckers are not cheap. A stock rebuild from PINA is almost $3K:eek: Found one on CL thats local, for $4K:rolleyes: But its been built up. Offered $3500 cash, hope to know in a few days or less if we have a engine or not. Heres a few pics.
  17. Hey, what are you doing up so early?:-p Dont know when the Reading meet is, but I guess I have a while to get the car ready.....for whatever meet I'm going to;)
  18. Yes, take the drum off. You need to get the axle nut off to do this. These can be a challenge, for sure. The easiest way is to leave the tire on and dont jack it up. If you can get access to the nut, that is. Then get a good breaker bar and socket and break it loose. Not sure about the size for the socket, maybe a 32/33mm? Once you get it loose, then jack the car up and remove the tire. Pull the drum off and take a hammer and knock the stud out. Replace in the reverse order. If the wheel doesnt allow access to the nut while on, you obviously need to remove the tire. Once off with the car jacked up, you will need some way to hold the drum from turning. Not sure if the e-brake will hold it, but use it and put the tranny in 1st gear. Sometimes the nut comes loose easily, sometimes not (sorry for the pun:-p ) If you cant get the drum to keep from turning, your going to have to get inventive. I use a tire iron in between the studs and propped against the ground. Maybe others here will chip in with thier recommended tools for this.
  19. Well, theres a couple of pro's and a couple of con's with that. I would def be traveling in stye and speed:grin: But my gas mileage would suck:-\ When I did the Dragon in my XT GL it got great mpg, but it was still almost a grand for fuel. I made a few side trips/detours:rolleyes: I cant imagine what it would cost for the SVX, even to PA:-p
  20. I think you need a special invite:rolleyes: I also think it would be a mistake in whatever you came in.
  21. Picked up the gasket today.....$2 and some change. Now if the rain would hold off long enough:rolleyes: Yeah, I dont know what the guy was thinking. He had it off to JB it, why not just get the part and replace it?
  22. Please read the peoples posts. This is very important information. We need to know where in the US your friend is going. All you need is the gears for the 3.9 LSD and they can be swapped into your rear diff. We have a write up in the USRM on this board just for this.
  23. This is what was wrong with it. Got the part yesterday, have to wait till Mon to get a gasket. This is the transfer clutch housing on the end of the 4EAT. Apparently the u-joints went TU and the shaft thrashed around busting the housing....in half. The PO actually tried to JB weld it back together and it obviously didnt work to well:rolleyes: Oh yeah, got the part at Tacoma PAP for $10.36.
  24. A couple of questions. No clunking on bumps from the solid top mount? And can you post a pic of the car with these on?
