  1. Hmmm, heres the best option of all...................slow down:-p Using the tranny to slow you down helps too.
  2. Stick around and BS with us next time we get together:rolleyes:
  3. I bought a load balancer today, but didnt have a chance to use it:-\ Tomorrow that sucker is coming out.
  4. Somewhat related to the Tac PAP. Would you believe there are 3 FIAT X 1/9's there? They had 2 there for a couple of weeks and when I was there the other day I saw another. What are the odds of that?:-p You rarely see one of those things on the road. I know there was one for sale in Buckley just a few weeks ago also. Darn things are coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden:rolleyes:
  5. Accumulating money is ok, but I wouldnt start collecting parts unless I had the car in my possession;)
  6. A large bang! And then what? Did it die, did it keep running and sound like a rod was trying to escape, or what? You probably wont know until you actually look at it.
  7. Yes thay are:mad: They suck to work on. I had to lift the engine just to get the last bolt on th ac compressor. Way to much stuff to disconnect:rolleyes: The engine wont come out with just a chain from the hoist. I have to go to Harbor Freight today and get a load balancer because it has to be tilted almost vertically to get it all out. If this was a Subaru, it would be back on the road by now.
  8. Heres a thread about it over at SVX.net. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30016&highlight=5spd+swap
  9. No its not. Its supposed to come on after the A/C kicks in and the extra cooling is needed. I've added this secondary fan on all my turbo cars and have it wired to come on the same time as the regular cooling fan. You may want to add a relay and seperate power to this curcuit, as it pulls more power off the curcuit and can overload it.
  10. And with a beautiful young boy now too;) That was so long ago, I couldnt remember if she got out or not. Didnt we use my old blue Hatch and try a Daisy Chain to pull you out? I think I had to quit because my clutch was burning up.
  11. We had a local Subaru Show yesterday, complements of NASIOC. It didnt turn out as a all Subaru show tho and a Supra ended up winning best car:-\ But I had 3 of the 4 Old School cars that showed up. As usual, the Hatch was a show stopper:grin: Patrick, do you have more pics of your Brat? That car is just beautiful and I need more pics for my screensaver:-p
  12. She was in the car when in he went in:-p I think she stayed in till he got pulled out far enough.
  13. You cant start a new thread from a thread thats already started. Need to be on the main forum page to do that.
  14. Alrighty then, not what I wanted to hear. But glad I got to hear it before I really started yanking on it:rolleyes: The more I looked at it, the more sence it made to pull it all out at the same time. So whats the trick on the axles? Is it anything like ours? Do I need to pull the bottom ball joint out, etc? I have a CD manual, I've already spent a couple of hours reading it. And of course it didnt mention anything about pulling both units together:-\
  15. Do you mean a new thread? Its at the top left of the page.
  16. So here I am pulling the hunk out of this thing, of course its a transvestite, I mean transverse engine:-p Do I have to pull the engine and tranny as one piece or can it be seperated? It does not look like I have enough room to slide the engine to the side enough so it can come off the tranny, etc. If the whole thing has to come out, it means more time... ie, more stuff to disconnect:-\ Man, how do I get talked into these jobs:rolleyes: Brian, if your reading this.......its the last time buddy:Flame: I'm sticking to Subaru. Know whats ironic? He has a newer V6 Mustang right now and I looked at the engine yesterday. I could have pulled that out in a couple of hours:rolleyes:
  17. Its because it wasnt done professionaly. It takes skill and the right tools to do it. danz, I got mine at X Treme Sound in Puyallup. Save your gas money and find a place up by you, there should be several places that can do it.
  18. They must make a couple of different models of that. I have some friends with a buggy like that and its got a Robin engine, and quite larger than whats in the CL one.
  19. Somebody said Brats floated:rolleyes: I believe the pics shown were taken by me;) And only one car at a time could get access to pull you out:-p One of the only times I've seen you stuck.
  20. Hmmmm, I may have to try that on my SVX. The key doesnt go all the way in either. Does the Leg key supposed to be pushed in, in order for it to be turned off all the way?
  21. Do me a favor? I heard there might be a SVX in Harrys. If its got grey interior and hasnt been cannabilized yet, grab the sun visors for me. I could ask for more, but I dont want you to spend all your time trying to get stuff off it:-p
  22. No problem, one of the Mods will move it sometime today.
  23. I havent seen that style yet, I think its neat. Has a look that makes the Brat fast:-p Being in SoCal, rust is not a issue. I'm going to put my topper back on because my bed is covered in surface rust now:-\
