  1. Yes, it happened to me on a 85 carby coming back from Cle Elum. I paid $10 for the wagon and hastily put the lines back on and headed for home, with the wife following me. She thought the same thing:grin: I ended up parking it in North Bend and retrieving it wil a tow dolly. I figured it out later when I had a manual to go by.
  2. We'll see how things go. I may be working on a Mitsu then, but may need to take a break from the insanity:grin:
  3. I already knew before hand. Just never had a chance to try it till now:rolleyes: I couldnt get the effect I wanted tho:cool:
  4. Wow, where did that come from? Never saw it for sale around here. Thats a beauty, excellent score;)
  5. Vaguely remember him.....but at least he went doing something he loved.
  6. Mmmm, more like......***, the Gov of BFE:rolleyes: Now why did we have to make his name a swear word?:-\
  7. Well, he had to go somewhere? He doesnt post much on NASIOC anymore, he got flamed hard there too:rolleyes:
  8. No damage to the block, otherwise I could not use it for a core return. CCR is great. The engines are great, the people are great (sometimes I wonder about Shawn:-p ) And Emily is great to work with.
  9. Suuuure, if I could find the pieces again:rolleyes: But they are long gone:burnout:
  10. That Bird is very rare and has a uber high price tag on it now. I still miss my 68:banghead: It was my first car and I bought it while I was still in the Navy (75). So the car was only 7yrs when I got it. Oh yeah, it was black:rolleyes: With white interior. Had the 350 in it, but I was constantly breaking starter housings. Finally figured it out, the disty gear on the bottom of the shaft was nylon and was wore out. So the timing would never stay put and would snap the starter housing:mad:
  11. This was the last engine in my RX, before the CCR engine. This was after the purchase of a manual boost controller off Ebay. It was either no boost or full boost. And yes it was fun, for about a day. One good thing about it, my HG job from previously held up fine:rolleyes:
  12. And boosted to 14lbs. It still ran, but of course, no compression in that cylinder:rolleyes: Head and valve were not damaged amazingly. Dont know where the pieces went, probably out the exhaust port.
  13. Yup, excellent day. No breakage cept for a corner marker light on mine:rolleyes: Those 4.11 gears front and rear make a tremendous difference;) If my shoulder wasnt hurting so bad, I would have taken that hill. Then those guys on top would have been truely amazed:eek:
  14. It shouldnt take days for it to burn, but certainly a few hours. Is it a AT or MT? If AT, then you could be sucking up ATF into the intake from a failed vacuum solenoid on the tranny.
  15. If the car it came out of had a AT in it, it most likely sucked in some ATF into the intake. It just needs to burn off, run it for a while.
  16. I plan on using the fuel pump switch. Even if they get in the car and manage to jimmy the ign, they wont get far. Pick a location thats easy for you to get to. As for the stereo, will it fit in the glove box? Does it have a remote? If so, you can just about put it anywhere.
  17. Ah, ok......I see it now:-p My eyes are always looking at the XT6 and I forgot about the wagon behind it:rolleyes: It was built by mtfabsman (Mike, the guy I bought my Hatch from) and he sold it to someone else. The car was from Eugene, Oregon and dont know if its still like this or not. He made it so the subframe could be removed and everything put back to stock running gear. Heres a link to his for sale thread and link to his pics. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=359988#post359988
  18. I actually did this to my first Subaru. It was a 82 GLF Coupe and I took a washer setup, drilled a hole in my trunk lid and put the washer tip on it backwards. It worked very well and usually got a surprised look from TG'rs and then a grin/laugh. They usually backed off too.
  19. I heard that besides having "OnStar" and the black box recording everything that happens with the car, now it will be able to record everything said in the car thru the radio. HAHA, I love starting rumours:-p Unfortunatly, this may be true some day:-\
  20. That can happen on any car. Your brake pads get wet and it takes a few yards for the moisture to evaporate. When you get that wet, just ride your brakes for a little bit. The proportioning valve is in front of the rear axle on the drivers side.
  21. You need a different manual. The model you have isnt covered in the one you have. Find a 93 or earlier. You have a Loyale, which is a EA82 engine. It has 2 belts and can be confusing for the first timer(sometimes oldtimers too). Heres a link to the procedure for doing the timing belts. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50768
  22. The green one is actually a Hatch, like mine. But it is probably a EA71, unless its been upgraded. It might take more than a weekend to do a lift like mine or the XT6 pictured. Unless you have mad fab skills:-p Mine was worked on by 2 different previous owners, one of them the owner of that lifted XT6. Its pretty well built, as I havent tweaked it yet. And I dont baby it when I go wheeling;)
