Turbones Trip to the East Coast Update
Turbone replied to Bucky92's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Only had 2 issues. The first one was about 1am. It was about the size of a medium dog, but a big round ball of fur. Could have been either a coon or badger, but it made a big thud under my right front tire:rolleyes: No damage, my last second twitch must have been enough to prevent any. Didnt stop to see what it was either, really didnt want to be hit by a truck like I hit the critter. The 2nd issue was later in the morning. I was already gunshy(actually the whole trip there and back I was anticipating encounters) and when a tumbleweed flew up, hit the front and then my side of the windshield I about messed my pants. If it has been a deer, you would probably all be reading a obit:dead: Oh and after the critter encounter the air susp light on the dash kept coming on. There were no actual probs with the shocks that I could find, I would shut the key off and turn it back on and let out the clutch, no more light. This morning when I stopped for food and yes! My first mocha since leaving, I checked the lines and the light never came back on. I did stop at Mt Rushmore and CrazyHorse, I'll get the pics up in a few days. I'm still wired from driving, but I know if I lay down and close my eyes, I wont wake till sometime tomorrow. -
I also have a few pics, I'll get them posted in the next day or 2. Need a few days to get back to normal.....whatever that is:-p Oh yeah, had a great time. Dont think kidnapping is a good idea, I'm the high upkeep type:rolleyes: Scare me off? Puleese:lol: One of these days, when some of you can keep quiet for long enough( ) I'll tell you some of my stories;)

Wow More later;) -
Andrew (WagonsOnly) and I should be headed out the door shortly. Stop at Micky D's then for coffee and its the Dragon or bust! He is going to head south when we reach Sheridan, WY to go to Denver airport to pic up his Sis. She is going to make the trip back with him, see the country, etc. See you all sometime Fri:burnout:
-
I'm leaving sometime early morning. I have about a 40hr trip ahead of me, so theres going to be a few pit stops. I'm shooting for WY for my first stop, hopefully it will be cooler in Sheridan to catch a nap. Then its off to Sioux Falls and Chef Tims. From there its 18.5hrs south, so I will probably need another nap in between there and Fontana Villliage. I should be rolling in about Fri late morning.....I hope. If I have time, I might give John in KY a call and get him to come, if'n I twist his arm enough:-p

Ultimate RX Power Window Problems
Turbone replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If your ok working with very small parts, then take the switches apart and clean them. Most times its the plugs themselfs that are the problem. Pull the door panels off and disc the plugs and clean the contacts. Check the grease on the slides and if they are looking real dry, use some good moly grease on them. If they still dont operate smoothly, you will need to remove the motors and take it apart and clean the armature/innards. -
Hahaha....the fastest Yugo in the world:headbang: See, people do crazy things with cars;) Dont ask why they did it, just wonder why you never thought of it first:burnout:

A cutting torch will make anything fit:grin: -
He might just be off his meds. I know that bi-polar folks can get this way. Or he might just have a perverse sense of humor and he gets a kick out of trying to baffle people. But I dont think this is the case because he gets quite upset when anyone confronts him about his intelligence.

Wikapedia isnt where I got all my info from. Do a your own search if you dont believe me. A 68 Kadette could probably beat a EA82T:rolleyes:
-
Obviously you dont know much about Opels. From 68 and up they came with a 1.9L engine with 102hp. With a few mods (Weber) it was a pretty quick car. I had several 68 to 73 wagons, long before I got into Soobs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_GT
-
The Opel was built by a guy in MN, who happened to be a engineer. The car was hit by a train in the rear and he wanted to do something different. The build is almost 20yrs old and back then a Allison engine was pretty cheap. He had vid of it at a local air strip, he never got out of 1st gear(stock tranny) and was doing 60mph. And to answer your question........why not? Look at some of the mods we do to our Soobs:-p

I need information please

How bad are the cracks? They are only trash if the crack reaches into the exhaust port, thats where the water jacket is. They will work ok with small cracks between the valves. -
I ended up having to winch myself the rest of the way up. That mud and the deep ruts were not letting me to the top:rolleyes: PM coming.
